I personally feel like the ML hasn't changed, he's always been very ruthless, (still thinking back to when he killed Le Dahu that shook me to my core). I think his initial first impression/appearance has changed but fundamentally he is the same. I understand why he;s keeping away from the FL but he's also damaging her reputation by doing so.
