To be fair, as far as the stupid dad & stepmom know, they *think* HR intentionally abandoned JW. She left…
I get too passionate and overthink things when it comes to these dramas though 😠like I said, this could all be solved with a simple convo, but k-dramas love making things convoluted lmao
True (and very fair), but I also feel like she has a dark side too. Idk, something's bugging me about her... like she's NOT the perfect person she pretends to be. JW didn't wanna be poor and struggling either. Like mother, like daughter lol
I just KNEW YC was gonna pretend to be JW/SA. Saw that coming. But I don't think JW will care that much, since she's out for revenge, anyway (and LOCKED TF IN to do so. Mistake or not, she's dedicated and I love it lol)
Manager Koo is hilarious. I love this guy. Never change, bro, never change. 😂 Him and Chairwoman Kong's dynamic is perfect! I'm so curious about the Hwang Mi-Su/Grace Han thing, though. For some reason... I just can't help but think that there's more to Hye-Ra. That she's NOT the perfect person she claims to be, and not a pitiful victim. I'm suspicious of her. Let's see if my suspicions are right.
I feel like Ahn Jina is the next person who's gonna die, in addition to Ki-Bum. The bodies are starting to stack up! I like Semi, but I feel like she'll be a problem too, in the future... so far she seems like the only true good person in this whole show. HN waffles too much for me... he reminds me of Liam Spencer on Bold & the Beautiful. Ew. Another reason why I prefer SH & JW/fake-YC right now.
And JW??? I did *NOT* expect her to bribe that reporter, WHOA! Talk about getting your hands dirty! I bet my ass she's gonna come after NS too. YES, girl. Get em all like they're Pokemon! Lmao. And YC herself still annoys me... maybe I'll come around to her eventually, but she's definitely been consistent in pissing me off. If she quits being an arrogant prick and gets that stick out of her ass, maybe I'll find it easier to like her. (Again, this WHOLE THING was her idea!!! 🙄)
The truth is gonna come out sooner than later regarding HR and JW. I like that this drama doesn't really drag things out that much. Very much looking forward to the next episode!
Side note: The BGM is incredible! Again, the music director did their damn thing!
I think JW's using the revenge as an excuse to be YC, too. Like I said, I feel like she's always envied YC.
True, true.
Definitely a deadbeat. Tbh if she's honest and upfront... possible 2nd chance? If she left me (as JW) as a baby, I'd be slightly more understanding. But as a kid? Eh. Different lol but I do tend to be more forgiving.
Young-Chae is also not very smart, she'll fess up soon enough. Also, Jung-Won wants nothing to do with Hye-Ra, so I doubt she'd give a damn. Could see them eventually becoming civil or teaming up against a common enemy (Chairman Two-Face or Gangsta Mama Gong, maybe.)
Nan-Suk whacked him again with the wine bottle. Someone else needs to die in this show, so I do think it's him. But this daily likes its twists/
Definitely... even though he's SOOOO annoying (JW's ex.)
I'm honestly surprised at the pacing of this. I didn't think people would start connecting jeongwon = sua until…
I need to make myself like Young-Chae because I find her so annoying 😠I feel like she hasn't developed AT ALL! Compared to Jung-Won and even Nan-Suk, who are BOTH showing how far they'd go for what they want and becoming darker. I don't see this one having a happy ending either, nor do I want it. Quit forcing happy endings, k-drama writers! I'm on Jung-Won's side all day everyday though lol, I love a villain FL!
Gossip Girl is SO GOOD, I need to finish it! Even the books were good too, from what little I saw.
Sorry to be mean, but I agree. Woo-jung's actress sucks. Idk why people kept calling her the FL, it's clearly…
Myung-Jun is trash. Been a minute since I re-watched the early episodes, but I think I was on Hwa-Kyung's side too regarding the bio father thing. I'm like at ep 80 and I pretty much skip WJ's scenes lol I even like the 2nd ML more than her.
And the bad acting complaints, and yes you are correct. Oh Seung-Ah DID get an award for this... my honest opinion is that she's lowkey the best actor here out of the younger cast. Me not even REALIZING she was the FL is probably what made me drop this drama years ago at first! ðŸ˜
In addition, the ending theme goes INSANELY hard (both of them.)
Decided to circle back around to this because Dear X & A Graceful Liar got me appreciating female villain…
Sorry to be mean, but I agree. Woo-jung's actress sucks. Idk why people kept calling her the FL, it's clearly Hwa-Kyung! And Woo-Jung is nasty as hell for that too.
To be fair, as far as the stupid dad & stepmom know, they *think* HR intentionally abandoned JW. She left…
Upon watching the recent episodes, I'm gonna go ahead and agree with you. JW is being a hypocrite, being careless, and not in the right (though I never said she was lol) JW still wants to be YC because she's secretly jealous of her and is using revenge as an excuse to do so now. How's that for relevancy? ðŸ˜
The way I see it- there's 2 camps here: people on HR's side and people NOT on HR's side. Me? I'm in the middle... because I *see* both sides. I think HR is a complex character so I can't fully condemn her. But... I guess my opinion isn't relevant either lol
I've been watching k-dramas for a long time (should be 8 years now, actually.) Soap operas for even longer (which is what introduced me to makjangs/daily dramas.) I've seen: body swaps, birth switches, kids dying, terrorism, more characters being revived from the dead than a fairy tale, lots of revenge, corporate wars, ridiculously intense opera singing (Penthouse 👀), characters committing incest, evil twins, memory swaps, devil possessions (hi, Days of Our Lives!), I watch anime (Death Note is basically a soap opera too lol), and I've even watched telenovelas. In all that time I've learned to never, ever, EVER take a k-drama seriously. ESPECIALLY after watching Escape of the Seven. 😂 At some point, ya just gotta laugh lol
Shit is about to go down like Donkey Kong in the next episode... and I DEFINITELY expect KB to die soon. Chairman Two-Face is gonna kill him soon enough, I don't see KB surviving till the end.
MH was right: "Things are about to get messy!" There's gonna be a BIG blow up soon!
BUT. Bad or not. I root for Jung-Won as much as I rooted for Oh Yoon-Hee in Penthouse. 😂
By rape, I meant drug SH and sleep with him, typical makjang playbook lmao
I mean, like I said, I'm in the middle about HR. I don't think she's a wicked vile woman who schemed to leave JW from the jump, but she's damn sure not good and pretty much a deadbeat. But like I said, if HR shows her dark side, I'm not sure about a redemption/reconcilation. If *I* were JW, I personally wouldn't forgive HR, or at least accept her apology but NEVER allow her in my life.
As for Young-Chae... fuuuuuckkkkk her. (For now. If she actually grows as a person, I might backtrack a TINY bit. Like... a centimeter. How do you have zero character development for 30 episodes lol)
I don't think the model's alive since we saw him DIE die, for real. JW's ex might reappear again, though (I hope tf not!) But there could be a plot twist somewhere.
girl, leave my girl YC out of it. lol Her life was already horrible having that woman as a mom lol
She's still a trash friend! Lol I do feel bad for her though, imagine having that witch as a mom. I don't think she should die, I just feel like she could try being a more decent person. Her STILL being arrogant annoys me to no end 😠but her going abroad would've helped her a lot.
I think JW's using the revenge as an excuse to be YC, too. Like I said, I feel like she's always envied YC.
It's okay for a protagonist/FL to NOT be good, I promise 😠villain protagonists DO exist lol. I personally find anti-hero/villain protagonists more interesting.
From a legal standpoint, she's not "good". But if we're getting literal or creative, then JW would be considered morally grey. She hasn't crossed the horizon yet, the only way she'll do that is if she kills someone or r*pes SH or something, both of which I highly doubt will happen. Still a possibility with this show.
Bottom line, JW isn't a heroine. Never has been, she'd be considered a dark hero/anti-heroine. We need more anti-heroines in daily dramas, in my opinion! Break the mold of the dumb sweetheart heroines lol
The whole mother/HR thing is so complex... yes, HR abandoned JW and didn't do enough to find her, but she *also* got into a car accident and nearly died. The Big Bad here is Chairman Two-Face. I want HR to regret what she's done and I can see her having a redemption... UNLESS, she turns out to be villainous too. Because right now, she's one of the biggest victims in the show.
Now as for JW... her arc should be interesting. Will she find out the truth soon, or will her revenge destroy everything, and it'll be too late?
I wonder how you feel about YC, I have some sympathy for her, but I also can't stand her... lmao
True (and very fair), but I also feel like she has a dark side too. Idk, something's bugging me about her... like she's NOT the perfect person she pretends to be. JW didn't wanna be poor and struggling either. Like mother, like daughter lol
