I beg please don't rehash that old argument in here about likening those who dislike the show to toddlers who can't read and can't understand a basic premise.
We've already gone thru that arc in this comment section. It's been settled and I don't care to scroll thru walls of pretentious text yet again from those trying to write us dislikers/haters off as "simply not getting the show". That's just an excuse for you liking the series in the first place.
Nobody is hating on you for liking the show and your body and soul's lifespan also isn't attached to how high we rate this one series. Just keep that in mind.
Ugh honestly, I might? I really want to drop it, that's for sure. Because it feels like a waste of time. Episodes are an hour long! After episode 1 I think most of us still wanted to believe/hope that this series COULD become actually good later on, but those aspirations are long gone.
What got me through these last two episodes was knowing that The Sign awaited me on Saturday hahaha. And it still does. But.
I used to think that too but now I believe it was my brain unconsciously coping with how horrid this series actually is! It's definitely unintentional comedy though. But my cringe-o-meter has reached its limit.
Counting down the hours to the latest 'Playboyy' episode – the BL drama that's deliciously odd. I dived in three…
Literally, I've been watching from the start only for Teena but I gotta be real last week my perseverance in finishing this series faltered. I almost lost to my inner demons, aka the voices in my head telling me that I cannot spend another hour watching this dumbass series. The perseverance is back now but it was a close call, just in time for the next episode. Hurray!
It's a little tragic because there are some scenes and moments which I really like. As example, I really loved the scene where Tew confronted the Big Boss™ about leaving (even though I'm not necessarily happy with it as a plot point).
But then there are pacing issues and plot elements and of course fucking Kenji that bring the show down. And let's not forget the make-up artist who "made up" how to paint/draw scars.
I swear it's the same people out here claiming to have no interest in book spoilers that are basing everything…
PREACH I couldn't have said it better myself. But I will also just say some more stuff regarding this because... I can! And cause I can make my comments as long as I want cause nobody is gonna scroll down here hahaha.
I obviously also used to at times fall victim to the "hate every character in the way of fave ship" way of thinking but I believe I've grown past that. I like supporting characters better 9/10 times than the basic ass main ship because the main leads and their romance often have elements of disbelief (to me) due to the writers/directors wanting to force certain tropes or plot points. Aka, why is Babe so fucking blind to Charlie, why does everyone just allow someone they don't know shit about in their work place which should contain valuable racing info about them, etc
Supporting characters are more naturally likable to me. And Way is no exception.
And yeah, people are obviously taking what they've learned from the novel and pasting that onto this Way. Novel Way ≠ Show Way. (Goes for most characters methinks but Babe and Charlie differentiating from the novel will probably be no problemo at all, huh)
And I have also been spoiled on novel stuff with Way! And guess what? I'm still here loud and proud liking him the most because I can make the distinction between the two versions.
But now I've reached a point where I feel like it's just other people's loss if they want to blindly loathe some Pit Babe side character. At least I'll get to be part of a niche, contained fandom with you guys for Way haha.
Cause at least you and I are not solely the ones who don't think this series, Charlie, and/or Charlie/Babe are the second coming of Christ.
I have a very legitimate question herewhy is everyone hating on Way ? 🥺
I was so flabbergasted when I scrolled down yesterday by the multiple comments straight up hating him haha.
As the President of the WAC... I understand if someone didn't like him for those brief few seconds in the last EP, (though I don't understand why he's so disproportionately disliked afterwards) But while I and the Club make jokes about red flags and being color blind and are clearly self aware, it doesn't look to me that those adoring Charlie or Charlie/Babe are in on the joke.
I don't know how many sugar daddy Pete's I have to include in my comments to make it clear it really ain't that deep

Am I... strong enough?
