It's a shame there are only auto-generated subs, it definitely makes it a lot more difficult to watch. It was a fun surprise to see one of the actors from On Cloud Nine. The scenery was nice in this show as well.
I'm sure I'm not the first person to point this out, but it's almost freaky how closely the plot for Girl Rules…
Prim/Jack - Serious creative with a vision
Bambi/Dean - Sassy ex who loves the spotlight and was the instigator for their spilt-up in the first place but wants to get back together with Prim/Jack
Gorya/Raffy - an assertive person who wants to be with Prim/Jack but settles for a friends with benefits arrangement with Shasha/Rome
Shasha/Rome - Flirty and confident person who doesn't shy away from a challenge and doesn't mind sleeping around. Pursues FWB situation with Gorya/Raffy
Min/Arnold - literally a straight person who is trying something they've never done before a) modeling then b) same sex kissing etc. with Praew/Tua
Praew/Tua - in love with a straight person they get to kiss
I'm sure I'm not the first person to point this out, but it's almost freaky how closely the plot for Girl Rules matches Only Friends: Dream On. I'm enjoying both shows, but I wish they weren't airing at the same time, it makes it too easy to draw a comparison. More below:
I think this was a good vehicle for David Matthew Roberts (Teh) to show more of his acting skills. In The Hidden Moon his character was a bit one note, but in this show he got to show more of his range and feel like a complete person.
OK this series is not for everyone, but I loved every minute of it. The writing is absolutely brilliant and the…
I totally agree! The HeHe&He series overall was so funny but also could be very poignant when it counted. The writing and acting was top notch, the actors truly felt like a close group of friends. And each new addition or all the guests a long the way were great. A great story of friendship and acceptance/understanding. Did you know that Pan Zhuo Lun (Zik) is currently acting/producing a new romantic comedy?: https://kisskh.at/805346-4-thirties-gossip
After Ep. 2 I definitely understand why this comments section is popping off, but has no one mentioned the fact that Toh had his hands massaging raw meat, then grabbed a giant bowl of vegetables to go wash them? 😆 We didn’t see him wash his hands in between so in Ep 3 everyone’s going to have food poisoning. 🤣
I enjoyed seeing the blonde guy from "Infidelity, It's a Disease" again, even if he's not the main love interest in this show. Overall it was watchable, but felt a little unfinished and choppy.
This really was a lot of fun, with loads of bromance, and an amazing "found family". The little girl was a star! Sometimes I get bothered by precocious kids in media, but she was the glue holding the family together.
One of the MLs jumps off a cliff towards the end but later a person was shown wearing his necklace and it was…
I think he really is alive because when Jian Wei is hallucinating his presence earlier he's not smiling, but when Xiao Xi shows up at the end, Jian Wei has the biggest surprised smile on his face. This show was a lot fun!
This was the most coherent Oxin production to date. It really just focused on the main couple, the story was not filled with too many characters with too many side plots, it wasn't stuffed to the gills with pointless comic relief, and it wasn't stretched out into 12-14 episodes. It did have some flaws, and it felt like they relied quite a bit on AI generated images at times (EP 10 especially, the Toyota SUV when driving in the storm said "FOOOOO" instead of Toyota, the storm itself tossing a character around on the deck of a boat), but it was entertaining and I looked forward to watching it each week.
There are two FLs, with romance arcs for both of them. The romance angle is very light, and at times, feels very forced. So if you are looking for hetero romance, you may be disappointed by this. It's a fun show if you don't take it too seriously. The first 8 episodes had great comedy and farce elements.
