I just started Melody of Golden Age and I'm loving it so far. The relationship btw the ML and FL is quite interesting. And the FL is smart and strong, but not overbearing. She knows when to backdown and when to stand her ground. I'm loving her so far. This role fits DYX perfectly. I didn't know he had it in him, but he should do more roles like this.

And the comedic parts are quite funny. I find myself LOL. All in all, the first 7 episodes I've seen are good. Waiting on Kisskh to finish translating the rest cause ain't nobody got time to deal with Mango TV subtitles 😭😭

Probably not. I think a lot of people dropped the show and stopped commenting during the whole "chasing" section of the show. And we don't have that many episodes left. I haven't seen many regular commenters these past few days.

Also, another new show just dropped, so many people are over there on that page.

Just finished the lates episodes and I gotta say I really really enjoyed ep 31 & 32. It brought back the feelings from earlier episodes (the very beginning) and why I loved the show in the first place. I was smiling like a fool🤭

That scene of them coming back to their old house and Li Mama and the other servants being there was so precious. The whole family is back together.

I just hope the show doesn't waste precious time of that cousin and her mama scheming against LMT. Hopefully, they don't make LMT accept it all without retailing. CXZ mother needs to stop her nonsense and open her eyes and see these bad people for who they are. Lol she's so naive. No wonder her husband had so many concubines and mistreated her😭

He can do anything for her, chase her all around the world, but giving his lordship is where he draws the line. This is why I've always loved his character. He stands in his beliefs and won't give up everything for love!

Tell me about it. I skip all the scenes with He Zhen and the doctor. I love the doctor, but He Zhen was too curel to him and I don't think she deserves him. Most importantly too, they have no chemistry. Lately though, I've become interested in Ziyu and SXJ. I wanna know how it will all end for them.

I was so happy to have Li Mama back. She's so adorable. That scene where they came back to their old house and the whole family was together again was beautifully done. I loved it!

Lol me neither. Not buying their love story either. Though, not for all the reasons you mentioned. For me, it's because it has become stale and one sided.

I enjoyed the beginning when they were fake married. I believe he truly fell in love with her, and not just the idea of her. My thing is the execution of their "love" story once she gained her memories. It became all one sided on his part and LMT became an emotional woman(which I understand given LMT situation). But the callousness of LMT isn't doing it for me. We get to see CXZ feelings and hear his thoughts. But we get nothing from LMT. So in conclusion, I don't believe she loves him.

But I've given up cause I know they will end up together for the plot. I will still watch cause I want to see how it all ends, but their "love" is not interesting to me anymore.

Lol too late, they already removed all that and made cold, unfeeling and callous.

The nuances you are mentioning would have been an nice touch for us viewers to see that she still cares for him. But all that got removed and we are left with an unemotional woman. Lol. Pity...💀

I think this is the first episode I actually gave them a chance.

Lol usually I skipped them cause I was too focused on the MC. But now that I really couldn't care less about the MC, I'm finally paying attention to other couples 😭

I put my rewatch on hold to catch up on ep 30. Other than a few parts, I quite enjoyed it. I think this is the first episode I have watched full scenes of Ziyu and SXJ without skipping their scenes. I quite enjoyed their conversations.

Regarding the MC, I have nothing to add. I think I have already exhausted myself and will just be beating a dead horse. So I will just say I look forward to how their "love" plays out.

I have noticed LMT really doesn't know how to show complex emotions. That scene with her, CXZ and her grandfather proves this. That was such an emotional scene, you could feel a lot of emotions from everyone (CXZ & the grandfather) except LMT. She just stood there blank. Blank stare on her face, even when she was supposed to be emotional when talking to her grandfather, there was nothing there.

I'm starting to realize it's the actress that doesn't know how to convey complex emotions. That's why we are noticing such major imbalance between her and CXZ romance... Pity. But it's still a good ride.

P.S: I'm really enjoying my rewatch... If it's one thing I can't take away from this show is the fact that the beginning is WELL MADE AND DIRECTED. Ep 1 to 15 has a special place in my heart.

I'm glad you mentioned that. Cause that's what most of us (at least for me) are having issues with. It's not really the story that's getting boring ( cause so much is happening) it's the MC relationship that's getting stale. It's coming off that way because like you said, the too unemotional state of the FL.

Personally, I've given up on their relationship for now. (Don't really care if they get together anymore) cause there's really nothing for me to root for. I completely understand FL stance. However, if they had atleast made her show a little bit of emotion, make us see/hear her thoughts, maybe it wouldn't be so unbalanced. And her reluctance would have been properly received.

We see, feel and hear every thoughts of the ML. But the FL is hiding hers from the viewers. Cdrama writers suck. Lol

THANK YOU!!! What you stated about their relationship is my BIGGEST CONCERN too. They wrote the FL character so emotionless and unfeeling, to the point of callousness (that scene when she pulled away from CXZ leaning on her to support his injury annoyed me) that it's making us viewers feel that she doesn't care for him at all. I get that they were trying to show us the old LMT who was a "strong" no nonsense woman (I applaud their efforts) but they just didn't translate it well on screen. They went too far with the portrayal, thus making her character not connect with the audience.

I completely understand her plight. She was lied and used, so I understand her reluctance. It makes perfect sense for her to not want anything to do with ML. And it makes sense for her to hide her feelings from ML. HOWEVER, it doesn't make sense for her character to hide her feelings from us the viewers. At no point do we really know what she's thinking for us to root for her and support her. In this, the writers did her character dirty. It's not fair because at every point, we all know what CXZ is thinking and feeling. We see, feel and hear his thoughts. But for LMT, nothing. Nada. Zilch. They took a beautiful character and turned her into a one dimensional cliché.

At this point, I'm even doubting that they belong together. I don't get the appeal anymore. At this point, to me, it feels like they will just get together just because the "plot" dictates it. We viewers don't get to really really see why they need to be together other than for plot purposes. Sigh...

Oh yea, L&D is one of my favorite xianxia. I just love their love.

But it did kind of get a lil boring for me towards the last 10 or so episode. so I never finished. Lol even though I've rewatched like twice, I always stop right at ep 52😭 I need to finish it someday.

Another thing I really love about that show is the music that plays whenever they are in the heavenly court. (Like the emperor entering) It's just so majestic, beautiful and soothing to the soul!

Okay, I'm about to start rewatching from episode 1. These last few episodes have put me in a dark mood and made me skip scenes (FL scenes). So I want to rewatch from beginning and rekindle my love for the show. I want to understand again why I fell in love with the characters (esp FL) in the first place. Maybe by the time I catch up again, I will gain new insight into their characters that will help me understand them more, esp the FL being TOO unemotional.
