For me, it's the acting. This is my first time watching this ML (didn't watch LYF) and I was drawn to his acting. I was intrigued by how he portrayed such a complex character so well. He did it so well that some viewers are forgetting that he actually is a bad guy in the beginning. Lol

This show made me went to check out his other dramas just to see him act. But unfortunately, this show and LYF are his first foray into romance drama. So I didn't watch any of his other shows. And I don't plan on watching LYF. So I'm looking forward to his upcoming historical drama.

Also, I think I was drawn to him cause his acting style reminds me so much of Jeremy Tsui. And I think Jeremy would have played this role perfectly too!

Exactly my point. Hiding her emotions from other characters in the drama is perfectly normal and okay.

But Hiding it from the audience makes no sense. How are audience supposed to connect with the character if said audience don't even know what the character is thinking?? Makes no sense.

I don't really think it's the actress. Because I've watched other shows were her emotions were normal. I think it's the writing. It never gave her space to feel.

Oh yes, that scene where she shook off his arm when he needed support, ANNOYED me real bad. Lol this is why I couldn't really care less about their relationship anymore.

Yes, you don't care for this person, we get it. But as a human, this person just helped you and is hurt. The least you could do is help them out on return.

Again, just goes to prove how callous they are making her character just to show she doesn't need anyone.

Secondly, good for you that you see her emotions. But I don't see any. I don't see any subtle emotions from in any way from her.

At the end of the day, the writers messed up the character.

There's a difference between being cheerful and just lacking any type of emotions. LIKE I SAID IN MY ORIGINAL COMMENT, I couldn't care less about her relationship with CXZ anymore. I want to care about LMT.

Like I stated, I want to be able to support my FL outside of romance. Who is LMT? What is she thinking? What are her feelings? For someone who's being through so much in life, where are her emotions?

Being unemotional does not make someone strong. Knowing how to properly show your emotions when needed is what makes a character "strong"

There are many other FLs out here that has been through WORSE than her, but yet we get to see them show emotions: Ren Ruyi (AJTL), Jiang Li (The Double), ShenLi (for months this woman was chained up and tortured so bad she lost her five senses)... We got to sympathize with these FLs because they showed us why.

So please don't tell me being "unemotional" is somehow being strong. The writers messed up the writing for LMT. That's just fact.

Now yall better not come at me for what I'm about to say, cause I know how much yall love to tussle at the slightest criticism of any FL characters... So here goes.

I have started skipping LMT scenes. Not because I don't like her character, but because her scenes are not exciting anymore. She's the FL, but as a viewer, I can't get a read on her. I'm not able to sympathize with her or experience an emotion with her because none is shown. She shows 3 facial expressions: indifference, wooden, and callous. Which aren't necessarily bad, but GIVE US SOMETHING ELSE. SHOW US AN EMOTION. GIVE US INNER THOUGHTS.

When I watch shows, I want to be able to connect with my FL outside of romance and so far this show has FAILED MISERABLY on that end.

At this point, I don't even care if she gets back with CXZ. (I'm starting to doubt they even belong together). The main thing I'm mad about is that I'm not even able to root for her as a person because there's nothing there for me to connect with. At no point do I as a viewer know what she's thinking or how she's feeling, for me to be able to care.

I really hate that it has come to this because I really loved LMT character in the beginning. Why did the writers make such a drastic change? Leave to cdrama writers to mess up a well written FL just to push out overused clichés... Okay, rant over

Omg girllll...😩 This is my problem with the show too. Like I feel NO emotion from her at all. Nothing. She's just wooden and callous.

Truthfully, I don't care if CXZ chase her for the rest of their lives and she ignores him, (he deserves it a little. Lol) but LMT needed to SHOW US AN EMOTION. SHOW US YOUR THOUGHTS. GIVE US SOMETHING TO ROOT FOR. ANYTHING😭 That would have made it more exciting to watch. But as it stands now, I'm not even sure they belong together anymore...

Even though I like LMT character, the way the writers have written her is making me not able to connect with or sympathize with her. I know she's been through a lot, but for some reason, I'm just not able to connect with her on any emotional level.

Her scenes used to excite me, but not anymore. Her scenes has just become a drag to me, and I find myself skipping her scenes. 🫣...I feel so bad though cause that's my girl😭

UGGGHH... curse you cdrama writers... They really take the most amazing FL characters and reduce them to "strong, unemotional" clichés...

Yea, they went TOO far with the unemotional FL so now it's getting harder and harder to connect with FL.

Her character is a very interesting one with many layers that could have been explored. But the writers chose to make her too unemotional, so now audience can't even sympathize with her. It's quite sad what they've done to her character.

At this point, even though I'm neutral in all of this, even I am having a hard time seeing how her and CXZ will fit again. But I'm holding out hope

That's how I'm feeling too. The writers wrote the current LMT too extreme and made her TOO disconnected from her emotions, thus, disconnecting her from the viewers. It's sad because we all know she's such a heartwarming and caring person who's been through a lot in life and is just trying to live her life peacefully.

We know all this about her cause the plot dictate it. But some viewers still can't sympathize with her because the writers didn't write her emotional reactions well for audience to connect with her. A dialogue into her inner thoughts would have solved this easily. But oh well...

With how the writers have her now, it's getting harder and harder to see how her and CXZ will fit again... But I'm still holding out hope...

Lol with how some of these viewers are acting towards the FL right now, they would have crucified her on the cross if the writers have gone down that path and portrayed CXZ exactly like novel version. They would have called FL everything but a child of God (not that they aren't doing that now).😂😭

But you are right about one thing, the writers did drop the ball when it comes to showing and balancing the emotions of ML and FL. The version you mentioned ( I really love it) would have come off better on screen if the writers hadn't wrote so little emotion for LMT. They really did her a disservice.

But then again, I'm not surprised. Most cdrama writers do not know how to properly write a FL. They always have them at the extreme end of things-- too childish, or too "strong" and unemotional. They always cast their FL in a bad light.

It's a crucial moment on how the two of them became connected. Make sure not to skip scenes in the beginning or you won't be able to enjoy the show😭 She mistakes him as her husband after she woke up from her injuries. he found her "dead" at the waterfall. He doesn't know how she got that way.
