I agree with you. The producers are really ruining the show. This explanation you just gave makes perfect sense and would have been so amazing to see on screen, but yet the producers ruined it because they have a hard on for SRQ character.
One thing I've noticed about this show is that after every episode, viewers who have read the book have to come online and try to explain the reason something happened. This means the producers/ directors are doing a very BAD job of retelling the story. If viewers have to explain things out for people to get it and not misunderstand, then it means production has failed terribly.

Production tried too hard to make him seem like a person in love who we should root for. They try to justify all his shortcomings and brush it off as "he's in love" so they give him more screen time so viewers can sympathize with him. However the opposite is happening.
I think Production was banking on us feeling sympathy for him based on his past relationship with LR, that's why they kept showing so much of it. They want us to root for him and cheer him on. Again, the opposite is happening. Instead his character is annoying viewers. His too much screen time is annoying viewers. And unfortunately, it's LR character who is getting the brunt of people's anger bcs of SRQ. All this will unfortunately lead to the show dropping in ratings.

I think the reason why a lot of people (sometimes myself included) are frustrated with her character's actions is because we don't really understand her character's past or what made her the way she become (other than what happened btw her and PWX in their past life.) So far the drama has done a very poor job of showing us why she's the way she is at present. And all the things that contributed to make her this way.
Though they sometimes mention how hard it is to a member of the royal family, it's usually glossed over, so a lot of people didn't pay attention to that. I think her character's reception would have been quite different if the show has taken its time to lay that foundation for her. I hope the show does this at some point. Lol though she still frustrates me, I will continue to give my girl grace and be patient like PWX 😂

Please, lets be for real now. I mean, at this point, the ML not believing in her is DIFFERENT than her *actual* boyfriend not believing in her. This is someone she's going to marry and buy a house with. Not just a random stranger off the street making a snide comment. HE IS HER BOYFRIEND.
