I would be suspicious of the parents as well (think like Britney Spears' parents or worse), were it not for the fact that the way they've conducted themselves after her death is the way I might if it was my daughter too. They don't want money. They want him to bend the knee and admit what he did.
They're facing a really daunting line of defense for him. Media, GM, fans, probably the justice system... are all stacked against the parents. But they are so full of rage for what happened that they take all these risks head on. It seems real, it seems like good (or at least well-meaning) parents. It sucks. I saw an MDL article about this like a week ago? And I generally don't care about this guy, he's never really been on my radar (I did watch My Love From The Star and Its Okay Not To Be Okay, but I gave them 8's and forgot about them, he's just another actor to me).
I come into the thread and saw this big brawl, and everybody was talking about shit with no sources at all. So I asked for some info and the way I asked was like "How do we know KSH isn't just getting thrown under the bus, is there proof of all this, what is the proof".... and the responses I got were all basically "Google it and kys asshole!!!" And I was like whoa.
But some nice people gave me some sources, and I checked them out, really undecided on anything. And it took like 30 - 90 mins of reading articles and looking at evidences about it, and I was like "uhh yeahhhh.... he guilty."
None of the evidences so far (afaik) are 100% titanium-clad proofs. But this is a *mountain* of circumstantial evidence that makes it look like there is no way in heaven or hell he's innocent in all this. You could be the most amateur armchair detective and put it together.
I don't care about the guy. I care whether k-culture, k-dramaland, Disney, etc will sweep this under the rug or not. Because I watch k-dramas and c-dramas because Hollywood is pure filth and I've boycotted it.
It's like.... will i have to boycott k-dramas altogether too? How will this all get handled? She was a 13yo actress when they met. Is the k-drama industry just as sick as the Hollywood machine? Or will they try to give KSR some kind of meaningful justice that ensures that children are better protected in the future? The child exploitation aspect is what bothers me. It's the Halo Effect, that for some people, if they see someone exceedingly hot, they have a way harder time accepting that that person might have really bad personal traits or have done messed up stuff, and even if they have, they're more likely to forgive it or excuse it.
