YES!! AMAZING DRAMA! I loved it so much! I mean, it wasn't perfect, but I was really impressed with the acting and the story line. I loved the way it was filmed too--kind of grungy and raw. Not so polished and bright. It made the drama feel more realistic. I gave it a 10 just for sucking me in and surprising me the way it did! Plus, I am a sucker for "almost famous" rock band-type stories. Like I love BECK (Japanese manga/anime/movie). The stories are very similar.

Agreed. It totally convey's TOP's celebrity persona. The funny thing about TOP is he comes across as this total swagalicious BAMF in music videos and dramas. But in candid moments, he seems like a weirdo. My friend sent this to me on facebook yesterday and I laughed so hard at Park Bom's face!

Well, something was going to knock Nodame out of my Top 5 no matter what. I wanted it to be I Do I Do, but it doesn't appear in my search results when I tried to add it. I can understand your feelings about not wanting to alter your top 5. Not only do you love those dramas, but there's almost this emotional attachment to them because they remind you of a certain time in your life when you watched them. At least that's how it is with me. But I felt like I should add some fresh dramas and be progressive. :)

Clockwork Angel (which I desperately want to call Clockwork Prince, for some odd reason), is creeping along slowly. Flower Boy Band held my attention pretty relentlessly for the past two days, but now that that's finished, I can focus a little better.

Right now I don't understand what's happening enough to give an objective opinion. I'm generally confused about a lot of the magical stuff that's happening and what kind of world this story takes place in. Is it supposed to be normal that people do weird magic? Or is it some kind of secret underground thing that general society knows nothing about? Who are these people and why do I care about them? Why do I care that this Tessa person is suffering? These are my questions so far. But I haven't even started chapter two, so it's too soon to tell. :) No stress though. Even if I don't like it I won't hold it against you... forever... haha!! :)

Finished Shut Up Flower Boy Band and added it to my fav list! I *had* to. I loved it and how it drew me in so helplessly. I love epic bromance stories!! *gush gush* Plus my favorite member of Infinite was in it! Added surprise bonus! Yes, push it to the top of your PTW list! My only complaint, seriously, is the name of the drama. It's so misleading, like it's going to be some fluffy, shallow pretty boy drama. I wish it was called something else in English! Something more bad ass to reflect the dramas character.

This drama surprised the heck out of me. Absolutely LOVED it! It's Korean Beck! I love "almost famous" stories full of friendship and good music!!

YES! My profile pictures here are always by Yusuke Nakamura. He's the artists that does all of the album artwork for Ajikan. I think I love Yusuke as much as Ajikan sometimes! I own one of his art books and I just think his work is so vivid and colorful and detailed. Ajikan and Yusuke are such a bad ass pairing of artists! :) I even got into wallpapering a while back and used one of his images. It turned out decent. Taa daa:

But yah, like you, recently I've been rediscovering Japanese pop stuff and loving it. I recently watched the anime Kids on the Slope, which is by the same director that did Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. It's been very nostalgic for me. :)

I'm the same as you. Japanese pop culture is what initially pulled me into Asian pop culture as a whole. For a long time it was only Japanese pop/rock bands, anime, drama and mangas. It's been about two years now that I've also gotten into Korean pop culture because a friend of mine exposed me to it. :)

I do like Laruku (L'Arc en Ciel) quite a bit. Hyde has a killer voice. I have two of their albums, Smile and a Best Of. I am also a HUGE fan of m-flo, MINMI, Base Ball Bear and Yoko Kanno. I can't stand mainstream j-pop artists like AKB48, Arashi, SMAP and Exile and garbage like that. Sorry if you like it!! lol! It's just how I feel. I taught in Japan for a couple years and my students looooved that stuff. I had to subject myself to it to bond with my kids, so it's a soft spot with me. haha!

Dude, I agree, I just couldn't do it. lol! Every time I tried to start the episode, I just FELT bored. Dramas shouldn't be that way. They should either draw me in so badly to where I can't stop watching, or at least entertaining enough to where I am looking forward to the next episode. I took a step back and realized I didn't care what happened next in Ghost. So why waste my time. For who? For what? *kicks the dirt* Screw that noise. :)

You know what though?? I randomly watched an episode of Shut Up, Flower Boy Band yesterday out of curiosity and FELL IN LOVE with it. I ended up watching seven episodes consecutively, like a total maniac!! It's not at all what I thought it'd be (which was something like You're Beautiful, which I couldn't stand to watch more than one episode of). It's so nice to be surprised like this! This is a much better use of my time.

Also!! I thought it was you, but apparently it wasn't because I just checked your list and it's on your PTW. Someone suggested Shut Up: Flower Boy Band to me a while back and I kind of blew them off. lol! But after I decided to drop Ghost yesterday (I just couldn't do it), I decided to watch an episode just out of curiosity....

SO GOOD!!!!! I LOVE IT! I ended up watching 7 episodes!! Ahh I hate it when I do that, but it caught me off guard with how fun it is! I am so into dramas and series lately that focus on men and their epic friendships. This is one of those dramas, and the acting is superb!

....I need to figure out who suggested it to me... I could have sworn it was you... It's not what I thought it'd be at all!

UGGHH! GUYS! This drama is boring the sh*t out of me!! The first two episodes were AMAZING!! I was even still intrigued during the third and fourth episodes. But I can barely manage to get through episode seven! How did something start off so amazing and become so boring within a few episodes?? I think I'm gonna drop this. I can't take it. I've been trying to watch episode seven for a week and I literally dozed off yesterday watching it. *shakes head* I'm so sad about it.

I got through the first 15 minutes and dropped it. :( I can't. I loved this manga so much, but something about it does NOT transfer well as a drama. I wanted to punch everyone within the first five minutes. haha!

Hmm, well, for me, TOP has a very sexy face. Therefore, it is extremely difficult for me to say that he would be bad at anything. It goes against my very being. LOL! Seriously though, yah, he did a real good job of being a vicious, cold-hearted bastard.... with a sexy face. :)

Sam Cham *IS* pure genius! I'm glad we can see eye-to-eye on that! The characters are so distinct and interesting, and the dialog is HILARIOUS. I'm still walking around chuckling at Mugen's, "All I know is we're a filthy b*tch." Then Fuu chimes in, "That's filthy RICH!" haha! Classic. But yah, Kids on the slope = dope. Check it out!

Dude I literally almost fell asleep while watching Ghost yesterday! LOL! This is going to be tougher than I thought...

If you're not ready to commit to an album, I'd recommend checking out their other anime theme songs, which also give you a nice taste. Those would be Rewrite (from Fullmetal Alchemist and probably their most famous song) and Haruka Kanata (from Naruto).

But yah, I an talk about Ajikan all day, so I'm just going to stop while I'm ahead. :)

Here's the thing about Ajikan, they don't make ANY bad songs. While their style is pretty consistent, each song has some small aspect to it that makes it unique or catchy. In the past, when I buy an Ajikan album, the first couple times I listen to it, the songs all kind of sound the same. But it always happens that at some point, BOOM, I start picking up the little details that make each song unique and awesome.

That being said, here are my recommendations. :) My favorite album from them is Kimi Tsunagi Five M. It's their first full-length studio album and it has a lot more punk rock hits, my favorites being Mirai no Kakera, Natsu no hi Zanzou and Mugen Glider. You Tube 'em!

I'll add rooftop prince to my PTW list, but we'll see when I get to it. It might be one of those rainy day dramas.

I'm currently watching Ghost. Have you seen it? It started off crazy strong and high-action/thriller. But now at about seven episodes in, I'm a teeny bit bored. I'm getting tired of all the technology/computer jargon. But I'm going to stick with it.

I'm going to watch Arang and the Magistrate too, once more episodes are uploaded. Gotta hold off a couple weeks so I don't go stir crazy waiting for episodes each week. I *hate* that feeling. :)
