Oh I'd *totally* watch a drama like that. Well, they kind of had a drama like that in the U.S. Scrubs! :) Which I loved.

Yeeeaaah....>.>..<.<...>.>... I watched four eps. hahaha! I'm going to try not to watch anymore though.... REAL hard.

Also, the best thing about the K2H drunk kiss was the dialog leading up to it!! Their conversation was so perfectly…
The fact that they got caught was SO great! Especially because they weren't even supposed to be getting along at the time! Then SURPRISE, there they are making out on the floor! Ha! #loveit :)

Also, the best thing about the K2H drunk kiss was the dialog leading up to it!! Their conversation was so perfectly executed and made the kiss even more steamy.

Yaaaay! Praise for I Do I Do! Glad you finally completed it!!

I can't say I'm with you on Na Ri. But I did appreciate her character's growth. I really love series where all of the characters are likable. I even loved the doctor's friend with the glasses! Dude was hilarious! "Eun Sung, marriage is like the grave and children the gatekeepers to the grave." *an hour later, drunk* "Eun Sung! Don't send me back to the grave!!" hahahaha!

But yah, awesome show, writing, characters, design, everything. :)

Started Arang today! Wanna give you my thoughts but I'll wait until you watch some. I gobbled up the first three episodes, but I'm not going to watch anymore until next week. *self control*

Yeeeaaah, Bridal Mask....You know what I think? I'm going to sound a bit pretentious here, but I think the standards for a "good drama" on this forum are kind of low. I think it's because a lot of users are super, super young. Which is totally fine! But being older, I'm a bit more discerning about....well, everything! haha! Dramas included.

But thanks for giving me your BM feedback! I'm not going to watch it anytime soon. I'm hardly even in the mood for dramas these days since I've been reading a lot. It was time to switch things up after consuming like four dramas back-to-back.

BUT! I *did* start watching Arang and the Magistrate today! It's pretty much what I expected it to be. Cute but not especially groundbreaking or captivating. I think I just love Shin Min Ah. haha! She's so cute and a good actress!

Hey!! I totally agree with your assessment of wishing studying could be addictive as watching dramas, playing games and doing other entertainment-like things. If I spent even HALF the time I spend watching dramas on studying a language, I'd be nearly fluent in something by now. -___-

...>.>...I don't like to think about those things. haha!

I love that you called it a book you'd find at a "cheap-ass supermarket sale"! Hahaha! I know *exactly* what you mean! Maybe I'll check it out at some point. Just for kicks.

Currently though I've reverted back to my old habit of reading modern mystery novels. Stuff like Charlaine Harris and Jennifer Cruise. They're like mystery novels with a bit of romance/smut thrown in. *shrugs* haha!

I also started watching Arang and the Magistrate today. Have you been watching it?

This drama is cute! I like the plot line, but it gets a little boring, as most historical dramas do for me. Plus it has that same old, typical, sh*tty dialog! Boy starts to like unlikely heroine, "What's wrong with me?? I must be crazy? Am I crazy??" Yeah yeah, you're crazy. *eye roll* I also would like to snatch Seung Ho's awful wig off of his head, stomp on it and set it on fire. haha! HATE that thing.

I finished the book recently so I'm intrigued by the film adaptation. I agree that you have to view books and their movie adaptations as separate entities. The question should always be, "could this movie stand on it's own right if it were an original film?" That's how you have to look at these things. Books always have the advantage because the author has more time to explain things in great detail while movies do not. Anyway, excited to check it out!

Oh absolutely! Like you said, I enjoy some dramas about high school kids (Shut Up Flower Boy Band, for example), but most of those fluffy and silly young adult dramas don't appeal to me. I prefer dramas about adults in mature situations. And when I look at my favorites list, it reflects that.

When I was younger, I loved mangas and animes that focused on school situations and students. Now though it kind of bores me. That's why I loved recent dramas like I Do I Do and King 2 Hearts so much. Complex dramas about sensible adults making serious decisions. So awesome. :)

At first, judging by the name and the beginning, I was just expecting the typical rich boy loves poor girl type…
Yeah, I didn't expect for this movie to be what it was. I was expecting some kind of upbeat, romantic comedy.

That photo was soooo gorgeous! It reminded me of the canals in Kyoto! *dreamy look* I am thinking I want to visit to check it out at some point. I want to see how cool of a city it is for myself! ^_^

And yaaaaay!! Sounds perfect lady! Epic rambling is scheduled for next weekend! :)

I noticed that Bridal Mask seemed a bit long. It's sad to hear that it feels long, too. Because, for example, King 2 Hearts was a bit long for my taste, but it didn't *feel* long watching it.

I'm particular about the length of a drama. I think it's rare that a story is strong enough to carry on for more than 16 episodes. Some people complain about it, but I actually appreciate that most Japanese dramas are 10 episodes or less. I think that's a solid amount of time to tell a succinct and focused story. If I see a drama with 20+ episodes, I usually walk away from it, feeling skeptical. But I'm sure there are some exceptions.

ANYWAY. lol! I'll save Bridal for another time then.

I *am* going to start watching Arang next week though! Wooo! So I'll have to ramble to you about that. :) Get ready!! haha!

SO cute!! hahahaha! Oh man! That's another drama I'll have to re-watch at some point. Save it for a rainy day. :)

Thanks for the well wishes in the letter! Yeah, I don't know what's going to happen with San Diego. But since you mentioned Texas, I've heard really good things about Austin, actually. More than a few people have told me it's a great city where the cost of living is very reasonable. Maybe I'll look into that as an alternative someday. I think for now though I'm staying put in AZ. It's just not the right time. Le sigh.

And I've seen a few episodes of Dancing with the Stars! It's a fun show. I always like the crazy costumes.

Side note, eight episodes of Arang are up!! I'm going to hold out until next Friday for 10 episodes and then I'm diving in! *excited*

Thanks so much! You know, I just had to be honest. A lot of people really love that drama and... well... I wish I had been watching it through their eyes. haha! Glad you feel the same as me. :)

OK, you had me at "fantasy and suspense" with the Power of Five series. I'm going to look into that one for sure! I love all these book recommendations! Lately I'm not so much in a drama mood, but more so interested in reading.

I "wikipedia'd" the Jack Reacher books and admittedly, the summary didn't instantly grab me. Doesn't mean I won't like it, but I'll have to check it out next time I'm at the bookstore. See how it reads in my hands. :) Same for the others you mentioned.

I have some books coming in the mail (used from Amazon, haha! Cost savings!). So once I finish those up, I'll look into your suggestions! Yay!

I'm so glad you liked I Do I Do! I was just *so* impressed with the writing and character development of that series! I love smart dramas, you know? Dramas where I feel they think highly of the audience's intelligence and stay away from the same old lame cliche's.

Hahaha! I love that you called Vampire Prosecutor "tacky." That's an awesome way to describe a drama. I want to use it in a review at some point! :) I kind of want to watch VP *because* I think it'll be bad. I'm in the mood to laugh incredulously.

Alternating is good! I agree. I don't like to watch too much of one genre, be it romcom or suspense or melodrama. After I Do I Do, I felt like I needed a break from the romcoms, so I watched Trick and started reading more. I'm still reading so I haven't been watching many dramas. I needed a break.

And yah! Save Guilty for later! When you can really focus on it. It's worth your undivided attention! Dang... I should watch it again! It's been a couple years since I've watched it! :)

Hey there! Very nice review of Romance Town! You did a great job of objectively breaking down your opinion--looking at the good and bad of the drama. Makes me want to watch it! Thanks for that! :)

Well, good luck watching RMPW! I just decided it wasn't worth my time. But I understand what you're saying. Sometimes I think I am too hard on characters in dramas--especially female characters. Being a woman, I am sensitive as to how we are portrayed, and I get angry if it's in that typical "doormat" way. But I should calm down and just try to enjoy the romance of it, I suppose.

Oh I looooooved Guilty!! I thought it was SO well written and the acting was great! The plot just sucked me in and the lead female was such a bad ass! Vampire Prosecutor looked comical, but in the way where it wasn't supposed to be. I considered watching it just for laughs, because it seems cheesy! How is it? Is it pretty silly?
