"I don't like you. You suck." SO HILARIOUS! I fell on the floor laughing, too! The way he pronounced it was funny in itself, but the intensity with which he said it made it even funnier! His eyes were all wide and scary! Hahaha!!

The scene with Ji Hun breaking up with Hee Jin is another one of my favorite scenes in the drama. I really think it's so beautifully done. It's super well acted and you can feel the heaviness in his emotions as he does it. Plus, I thought the feet washing thing was such a poignant moment for them. It's a strong gesture of servitude, and it helped to further express his sorrow and regret for the situation. He literally humbles himself before her but shows that he still cares.

And I LOVE the line where he says, "People still live everyday knowing they'll die," In response to Hee Jin's comment about the feelings he has for Sam Soon eventually fading. BEAUTIFUL!

Oh neat-o! I had a conversation with another user on here about her fasting for Ramadan. Understood!

And WAIT A MINUTE. Did you steal "Le Sigh" from me?? LOL! I say that quite a bit and I feel like it's an odd thing to say, so if you didn't steal it from me, than our similarities are becoming a bit disconcerting. :)

*swoon* Tae Kang is so darling to me. I love his man-puppy personality and energetic and charming nature. I want to bite his cheeks so badly. *angh* haha! Ironically, I did NOT like him when the drama first started. Like Ji An, I thought he was a loser. But by around episode 7 or 8 I think, I just fell head over heels for him. I really started to understand his character strengths more clearly by then.

After that, every time his smiling face showed up on screen my heart would flutter. (*^_^*) I'm such a sap.

I haven't found a historical drama that could keep my interest yet. All the ones I've watched have bored me or…
Yeah, but eye candy will only satisfy me temporarily. If the story is not written well with good characters, I will still begin to hate everyone's face, no matter how good-looking. haha!

Ahh, I can see that. Kind of like, "Don't forget that I am watching you and I own you." Ugh, that just makes it even creepier! OK, enough! You're gonna give me nightmares here! hahaha!

This movie and also the movie GO were the first to teach me about some of the ugliness and prejudices lurking within Japanese society. Very interesting movie.

Good observation!! I wonder if they intentionally chose that horrible piece of artwork to make a point of the president's wife not having good taste in art. If they did, that would be a sly, sly move. It makes the situation more comical if that's the case, considering how uppity she was. Ha!

Na Ri made a nice turn around in the end too, eh? I liked her line where she said, "I only know how to back stab people." haha! Introspection is the first step to recovery! :)

She DID screw up big time. I'm glad we can agree on this point! And I also agree that Hee Jin and Henry's conversations ARE super awkward. Something about their interactions are so odd. I think it might just be that Henry likes her romantically but she doesn't feel that way about him, so it creates this weird dynamic between them. But they speak real English so I won't complain about them too much. ^_^ When Hyun Bin speaks English, he sounds kind of like a constipated robot. hahaha!

Let me know when you finish episode 13!

I'm also excited about this drama. But I don't have particularly high expectations because I generally don't care for historical dramas. Hopefully this will prove me wrong!

It could have been really awesome.. untill.. everything. I'm just going to ignore the fact that every single character…
I'm with you 100%. I didn't get any of the choices these characters made, either. Once Eun Jeong's daughter died, my feelings totally changed. I honestly didn't think they'd kill the little girl. When they did it caught me off guard and I started hating everything about the drama. How cruel and unnecessary.

I haven't found a historical drama that could keep my interest yet. All the ones I've watched have bored me or been generally disappointing. I'm wondering if this will be better since it's so highly rated...

I can't believe the low rating of this drama!! It is one of the greatest Japanese dramas of all time!! I've watched…
The poster for it is odd AND the summary is really long. Both are off-putting for people who are browsing for a new drama. If a summary is too long, I get lazy and won't read it. haha! But I'll add this to my list and check out an ep since you think so highly of it!

Agreed. And I loved that fake conversation too! So cute and funny!

OK OK, now that you've passed that point, let's talk out the whole Hee Jin, "I left for three years because I had cancer" thing.

This goes back to my being a cold-hearted bastard. Because I was NOT moved by this new information. I specifically remember right after Henry said it--which later pissed me off even more, that HENRY had to tell Ji Hun--I thought, "B*TCH! WHY WOULDN'T YOU TELL HIM THAT!?!?!?" I was so mad!

And I am not someone who advocates violence against women. But I think she deserved that slap from Ji Hun. What an idiotic, selfish, arrogant decision to make on your own. ESPECIALLY considering the circumstances under which she ran away! Uuuggghh I was SO MAD! Who does she think she is to withhold that kind of information from him when she allegedly "loves" him. What an effing idiot.

Thoughts? lol!

Wow! Good for you!! I think that's awesome. I've done something similar before. During lent last year, I gave up Korean pop. I also gave up watching dramas on Sundays all of last year. It's just good to keep things in perspective, ya know?

Good luck to you!! It must be difficult being on this site though, huh? It's like being in a bakery and not being able to eat anything! haha!

Ha! Dude that picture WAS scary as hell! I don't know why on earth that woman thought it'd be inspiring to Ji An or whatever the purpose was supposed to be. That's one character that didn't surprise me at all. She was a typical b*tchy, arrogant, vindictive, back-stabbing, rich middle-aged Korean business woman through and through. Sheesh, rich middle-aged Korean business women get a bad rep in dramas EVERY time! Haha!

Hahaha!! I love that! Way to take charge!! :)

First off, whyyy on earth do you need to wait 29 days?? Are you on some kind of drama fast? And I'm happy with the ending of I Do I Do. I felt very satisfied.

Yah, I just read your review. You really have a way of breaking down a drama and getting into the nitty gritty (for lack of a better term) of what makes a drama successful or not. Very nicely explained. I don't know why, but it's much easier for me to write a negative review than a positive one. With a positive review, I actually have to reign in my emotions and formulate my opinions instead of just gushing. haha! That's difficult for me.

But anyway, I'm glad this drama proved me wrong, too. It didn't even end the way I expected it to--with some obligatory time jump showing Tae Kang successful and the two happily married. I like that they left it open-ended, but positive. Always realistic.

Nah, it won't be redundant. I'm excited to read your review!! There was so much I wanted to say, but I felt I could only focus on a few things. I'm so impressed with that drama and its cast.

I love Lee Sun Gyun with undying affection, but I sure hated this drama. This drama made me seriously question…
Dramas that show us problems in Korean society, yet offer a SOLUTION are the ones that are bold and meaningful. This is not one of those dramas. This drama just shows us a weak and spineless woman in an unfair situation, being thrown about like a wet dish rag. Not very inspiring, nor is it my idea of a good time.

But maybe it will be for you! Have fun! :)
