Oh, and just to comment on your other post, they don't always go to the U.S.! Usually they threaten to run off/exile themselves to Japan! People are always being banished there in Korean dramas. Japan, car accidents and also running through airports. I feel like there's some book of television standards that states every Korean drama must include one of those three cliches. :)

And I agree with you about the humor! In episode 13, I loved the other doctor's rant about marriage being like a grave and children being the guards to the grave! LOL! "Eun Sung, don't send me back to the grave!!" Haha! In a drunken stupor, no less!

Ooooohhhh myyyyyyy. Yes, see, I KNEW episode 13 was going to be epic! What an emotional roller coaster ride! Where do I even start!? They won the competition! He sang to her (I melted)!!! She told him finally! The argument! The awkwardness!! THE KISS! This drama is on its way to breaking my top five list if it keeps this up. Wow.

And even though this episode was so emotional and so jam packed with drama, it never felt cheesy or fell into any of those typical cliches! I was waiting for something to happen where they didn't make it to dinner (i.e., a car accident... I'm always waiting for someone to get hit by a car or reveal some past traumatic car accident in Korean dramas). But they actually TALKED IT OUT like a real-life couple! No stupid misunderstandings! Everyone was brutally honest! Oh, it's just so refreshing! Gosh I just want to hug the writers right now. (*^_^*)

Oh my gosh! Do you know I was in the middle of watching another drama, and I just CLOSED the window and went straight to I Do I Do because of your comment! Hahaha!!! I'm about to watch it now! I'll write more to you later!

The lead girl in QIHM irritated me with all her sobbing. The very first time she cried for the guy, I was moved and even felt a little teary myself. But the second and third time, I felt nothing. Like, stop sitting around crying! That's why I hated Cinderella's Sister. All everyone did in that drama was cry. EVERY. EPISODE. Crying all the time. Someone was always boo-hoo'ing. It was the worst.

Wasn't it pretty good? I was impressed that it didn't feel rushed. It really felt like a complete, well-told story. Plus I appreciated the message about plastic surgery. Her life didn't suddenly become better because she became thin and beautiful. She just had a new set of difficulties to face. I appreciated that point about the movie.

And dude, I am a cold hearted bastard when it comes to tears in dramas. I NEVER cry watching dramas. And as a matter of fact, if people cry too much in a drama (i.e., more than once), I start getting irritated. A character is allowed one mental/teary breakdown, than after that they need to grow a pair and face whatever issue they have head on. If they just keep crying, I want to start smacking people. I mean, I've been moved while watching stuff. And I may even feel the start of tears, but they don't come.

OK, I thought it over (lol!). Maybe Tae Kang and Ji An can BOTH go to America! :) She's an established designer, yet her company is treating her poorly. She speaks English, so she should quit, move abroad with him and start her own business!... OK, I'm officially writing fan fiction I think. haha! I'm done, I'm done.

I re-watched episode 12 (because I'm slightly obsessed), and I have to say that I really appreciate the doctor. Yes, I am in full support of Tae Kang, but the doctor really is wonderful, too. I love the scene where Ji An comes out in the white dress and he tells her she's blinding him.

I also want to express my dislike for Na Ri. While she isn't completely the stereotypical vindictive b*tch, her youth makes her ignorant. Her response to situations is all wrong and she goes back and forth between playing the sweet girl and the back-stabbing cheat. It wears on me.

I am 100% in support of that priority list!! Two Kim Sun Ah dramas back to back isn't a bad way to spend your time, trust me! :) I vaguely considered watching Rooftop Prince, but then decided to pass on it. I don't think I can muster another potentially cheesy time travel drama. But once you tackle it, you'll have to tell me what you think. But it'll be a while before you get to it.

I say that because Tae Kang is so, so adamant about taking responsibility and being there for the baby. So I have a very hard time believing that he'll knowingly leave his child and child's mother to frolic off to the U.S. for three years. I don't see it happening based on his previous behaviors.

I agree with you completely and I'd actually thought the same thing. Tae Kang *has* to go to the U.S. Not only do I think Ji An will force him to go, but he really needs to in order to grow and become a stronger partner for her.

As you mentioned, even though he's wonderful and has lots of positive qualities, he's still not quite on her level professionally. And while I'm not so old fashioned to think the man has to be the "bread winner" in a family, I think it will be better for both of them if they are both mildly successful in their careers. I think Tae Kang has to grow and progress a little more as far as his status in life.

The only thing is, I believe Jake said he wants Tae Kang for three years. In a baby's new life, that's a long time. So I'm wondering how this will play out. My biggest fear is that she'll hide his being the father until after he returns.

Thanks lady! I did have fun! I went to San Diego for the weekend. Great city. :)

YAY for screwing Big and watching Kim Sam Soon!!! Ah dang. Now I kind of want to re-watch it. Dang it!! :)

And, again, yay for angry reviews!!! I'm telling you, it's a good thing. We need to write those reviews to save others from making our same mistakes. Or at least warning them so that they know what they're getting themselves into. Good for you, I say. *applauds* I'm going to go read it!

And I don't blame you. I fell out of movie mode a bit as well. But I'm pretty satisfied with the dramas I'm watching now. So far Royal Family is good, but it's something you can wait for. Not really a "must see". And I Do I Do... Well that series is simply love. Le sigh.

I don't know why but I dropped this. Maybe I might pick it up again someday... Bleh.
Haha! Fair enough. It's definitely a story you need to have some patience with because the pacing is gradual. But when the good stuff comes, it's gooood. (*^_^*) I can't say enough positive things about this drama right now, and I adore the two leads and how their story is unconventional.

Anyway, good luck! :)

I did see that movie. I liked it a lot and it was pretty creative for its time. Is this drama based on that movie? I didn't know...

Well, it depends on your taste, but I think this drama is very intelligently written and forward thinking. The character growth is gradual and surprising as well.

If you're looking for a wacky drama with lots of over-the-top high jinx, than no, this is not the drama for you. But if you want something mature and more realistic with smart characters, than this is it! I am loving it and it gets better with each episode!

Haha! You and guns, dude. Does Steve carry a gun? Is he a Texan? :)

I'm back!! \(^o^)/

Watcha been watching? Any good movies? Anything deemed as a "must see"?

Yah, for me... Personal Taste was kind of sexy. I kind of gave in to my libido on that one. heh heh. I don't really like how they made being homosexual a big joke. That part was offensive. I'm not gay, but the way they handled the subject was a bit insensitive.

But when Lee Minho was good to her, BOY was he good. The things they had him do for her had me swooning off my couch and rolling on the ground. Ha! But when he was bad, MAN was he a bastard! There's torture and also some satisfaction in feeling hot and cold for a character. It's that "love hate" feeling. Anyway, I just know that when they had sex, I was angry about the circumstances. So that's no good. lol!

I loved Tae Kang's response to his father as well! I love how this series in general goes against the grain of typical, old fashioned ideas and drama cliches. Ah, I have to stop. I can gush on and on about how much I am adoring this series and its characters.

I didn't see the previews for episode 13 either (I don't think there were any, anyway). But just based on the events of episode 12, I'm thinking the sh*t is going to hit the fan in the next episode. It *has* to. I'm worried that it's going to be very bad. They've let poor Tae Kang walk around ignorant for far too long. He's going to be hurt real bad once he finds out the truth. But hopefully he gets over it somewhat quickly and becomes happy about the overall situation.

....Feel free to ignore me and my conjectures. :) And good luck with the marauding Queen Inhyun fans. You're a stronger woman than me. ha!

I dropped this as soon as he made her imitate Sailor Moon. This is the second movie I've accidentally encountered…
Oh no!! Poor thing!!! :(

Oh! I didn't know the girl from Personal Taste was the lead. Have we ever talked about that drama? That is the only drama where I really can't decide if I really liked it or really disliked it. It has some good things about it, but also some awful things (like that cliche we talked about before that we hate, "be cruel to be kind"). I even watched it twice because I couldn't decide. lol! Ah well. I still don't have a verdict on it. But I'm not watching it again. (I think the biggest draw is that damn Lee Minho and his killer long legs. Ugh. Shame).

I'll keep you posted on Big. I might give it a try after I finish I Do I Do. Which I am loving thus far. (*^_^*) gush gush.

Just so ya know, I'm going to be away from my computer for the next three days on vaca. So if you get silence, it's not because I'm being a jerk. haha! Have a good weekend lady!

To avoid repeating everything you said, I'll just say I agree with you 100%. :) Tae Kang is a wonderful character and I'm impressed with Jang Woo and his portrayal of him! And I too find myself going through the motions right along with Ji An. I love how her character has progressed and softened as well.

Just watched episode 12. Episode 13 is going to mark a major turning point in the series I think. I really hope I'm not disappointed. So far everything is done SO well. It's as if I'm waiting for the writers to disappoint me with some silly drama cliche (or rather, for the "other shoe to drop" hahaha...ugh. I couldn't resist the pun, sorry). I'm really hoping that doesn't happen. But I appreciate that I genuinely can't predict what will happen. This is rare indeed.

OK, episode 11, I Do I Do. I swear I almost died from cuteness overload when Tae Kang rushed over to Ji An's to confirm that the article was wrong and she wasn't getting married. His big, bright smile as he kept saying, "what a relief!" seriously almost destroyed me. I still think back to the beginning of this series when I didn't even LIKE him! And now I'm sincerely wishing I could put him in my pocket and carry him with me, always. :)
