Separately, if you like Little Bride, it's totes fine! We all have different tastes. But I can understand why it would be special to you. This sounds weird, but when someone in my family passed away, one of the animes I watched during that time was Kare Kano. Kare Kano is NOT the best anime/story out there, but it came at a time where I needed something light-hearted and fun. So that anime holds a special place in my heart. But I'm also glad you get why I don't like that movie. See, this is how mature people disagree on something! Disagreeing, but still respecting and understanding the others point of view. I'm so impressed with us right now.
Tell me why I read the title of that movie as "My Little Birdie" for several days. -____-
I just tried watching 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant. SAME SITUATION! BAH! Except the lead guy, to me, is ugly. That is NOT something I can tolerate, ever. :p

I wanted there to be some scene where Grandma appeared in front of Gumiho and Dae Woong and saved the day, referring back to her promise. I think that would have been more logical (as far as the logistics of the story line go, anyway). Instead, they talked all mysteriously about "the universe going crazy" or something random like that. I thought that was a cheap way to bring her back without having to explain how she came back. But they HAD a solid reason to explain it! They just didn't use it! It's kind of like QIHM and his cell phone randomly working all of a sudden at the end. How is Gumiho calling Dae Woong out of no where? Because of an eclipse!? I just thought they could have done better.
ALL THAT BEING SAID. lol! I still love the drama and the characters aaaand would recommend it any day (obviously). :) The OST *is* really nice! Downloading it is a good idea!

Yaaaay!! You finished Gumiho! Congrats! I'm so glad you liked it as much as I did! If there was a Top 10 Favorites list, that drama would be in there for me.
I thought they did a great job acting out her last day, too. It was so heart wrenching to see Dae Woong holding back tears all day! They wrote those scenes really well.
So my final complaint about the drama is the ending. It's not that I didn't like it, because I do. But like you mentioned, the appearance of Sam Shin Grandma was SUCH a surprise! I'd totally forgotten about her promise to allow Gumiho to become human once she found a husband. Even though she appeared, I felt like they didn't really develop that situation! What a great loop hole to allow for a happy ending, right? But you never really saw SSGrandma (sounds like a ship) DO anything. She just kinda walked around and sat on benches.
I dropped this as soon as he made her imitate Sailor Moon. This is the second movie I've accidentally encountered within two days involving college-aged guys perving on high school girls (My Little Bride was the other one). YUCK!!!!!! Plus, the teacher's booger in the student's mouth was the first red flag. Why was that even necessary!?

You know what it is? I'm hyper-sensitive to it because I used to TEACH kids her age in Japan. And if I knew that some college-aged man was perving on one of my students, I'd punch him in the f*cking face dude. lol! I could see that the writers wanted to sell me on the fact that they've known each other all their lives, but I wasn't buying it. I was hoping and praying for a time jump. Then I would have been all for it.... But I didn't get one. T_T So the whole time I just felt like he was a pervert, and in turn, *I* was a pervert for watching it. Not a good situation overall. hahaha....ugh.
Ooooh, last ep of Gumiho! Good! Then I can finally tell you about the second thing I disliked! heh heh *sits back and waits patiently*

Haha! "Kill Lentils"! And the director was so funny during that part, right? I like that he cursed himself after: "Wow, I really can't write melodramas. All I can think of for lines is 'What!?'.... What?? WHAT??" LOL!! And I squealed when Dae Woong grabbed Dr. Hotties hand, too. Don't feel bad! They caught me off guard on that one!
Chilling romance was cute. I don't like most Korean movies, but that one was acceptable.
Oh gosh, I watched "My Little Bride." Can I tell you that I felt SO uncomfortable the ENTIRE. MOVIE. Ahhhh I felt so uncomfortable. Six years for an age gap is not bad when the people involved are, say 24 and 30. But a FIRST YEAR in high school (which is basically still a middle schooler to me) and a man in college, marrying? *shivers* Ick. I can't even rate that movie because it made me feel so uncomfortable. If she was a third year, it would have been better for me.
I watched her in Pasta and The Greatest Love and I didn't care for her in either. I wonder if she plays any roles where the women actually has a backbone and isn't weak/clingy.
I am currently watching it but its not that great. But Dokko jin never fails to make me laugh. Drama is watchable…
His face is oily and his hair looks like a helmet.

And after giving it some thought, I'm gonna wait before I start Big. I want the series to be almost finished uploading/subbed before I dive into it. Knowing myself and seeing that there are only eight episodes uploaded so far, I'll hit a wall again. Plus, I'll be watching two series simultaneously again like I did with K2H and QIHM. But at least K2H was finished when I started watching it, so that helped tremendously. I'm not addicted enough to I Do I Do to where I'm biting my nails waiting for the next episode, and it feels nice. lol! So I'm just going to hold tight for now.
I've been watching a lot of movies though to pass the time (this seems healthy enough, haha). Once Big is on episode 13 or so, I'll watch. But 8 episodes isn't enough. Everything is at 8 or 9 eps right now! I Do I Do, Bridal Mask, Big AND I Love Lee Tae Ri (which I was considering watching for whatever reason).

You know, that's why I liked Protect the Boss so much. It was the first drama I watched in a long time where the lead characters were truly honest about their feelings. I found that so refreshing! And when they faced challenges, they told each other about it, HONESTLY, and worked it out. Even when they had to separate, it wasn't because Ji Sung was an asshole to her. He just told her plainly that he needed some time because things were such a mess. And when things got better, he came back for her! I wish more Korean dramas would adopt that kind of writing.
And I agree with you about Dr. Hottie. I think he does care for Miho, but he just doesn't really know how to help her. I think he was just so bent on not making the same mistake twice (and thank you because I could NOT think of the name "Kil Dal" lol). But the whole situation with him is confusing. *shrugs*
What a strange movie... I felt uncomfortable watching it the entire time.
Totally. If she'd been a third year in high school (i.e., 18 years old), it would have made me feel a little bit better. But she was basically a junior high student marrying a college-aged man. Not OK in my book.

I could never tell if Dr. Hottie liked Gumiho or if he just felt remorseful to the girl from the past... In one part it seemed like he wanted to help her, then sometimes I felt like he was sabotaging her. Was he jealous of Dae Woong? He was just so ambiguous all throughout the drama. He would do nice things for her, but he was never particularly romantic toward her either. So weird.

AND THEN! The reason he left was stupid! First of all, Dae Woong has been skeptical of Dr. Hottie all throughout the drama, but all of a sudden he trusts him!?
Dr. Hottie tells him to stay away from her so that her desire to become human will lessen, and he easily says "OK"!? WTF!? She's been wanting to become a human for more than 500 years! You think just because you dump her she's going to change her mind?? Plus, a few episodes ago Dr. Hottie told Dae Woong that no matter what he needed to stay by her side. Now it's the opposite. :/
I felt irritated since they wasted 40-something days being apart because of Dae Woong's selfish, idiotic decision. It would have been a better drama if they'd stuck through it together. Having them separate was pointless in the end. It just created, well, unnecessary drama. And Dr. Hottie himself is so confusing. His intention is so unclear.

DUDE!!!! YES!!! I absolutely HATE that plot device in dramas! The whole "be cruel to be kind" mentality. You've finally reached the first thing I really disliked about this drama.
Never in any drama where the guy has randomly decided to be a complete asshole to the girl he loves in order to "save" her have I thought, "yeah, that's definitely the best solution to your problem." NO! It's NOT! How about you just TALK to her about what's going on?? Why do writers make characters, A) lie about their feelings, then B) selfishly take on the problem without letting the other person know?? Is that how a successful relationship works!? NO! It's NOT! Aigoo that drama cliche burns me up. Whenever I see it coming, it's like something in me just dies. That moment where he called her a monster killed me a little. I'm totally with you. Then she cried and it started raining and he STILL left! ARGH!!
At first I thought Kang Ji Hwans voice was hilarious so I spent the first two episodes imitating him and laughing…
This comment just made my afternoon. LOL!!!

No no! I really enjoy our conversations! Like I said before, no one in my everyday life watches dramas, so this is a fun outlet for me! It's the only place I can voice my opinion. So yah, post away dude. It's all good. :)
It's so funny that you mentioned this, because I really like I Do I Do, and now that I'm stuck waiting for new eps, I was thinking of picking up Bridal Mask or Big. I hear really good things about both dramas! Since you're doing Big, maybe I'll go with that one as well. We'll see!
And good, I can skip Ultimate K-Pop Audition. haha! That was one of my many gripes about Heartstrings. I put in all that time and effort, and that drama totally fell flat. What a royal waste of time. That drama and Sh*tty Hunter (or as some know it, City Hunter). Bah! But some dramas--for example, The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry--are fun despite the odd ending. Gumiho is one of those!

Yeah dude. Remember before you started watching this, I told you I had two big issues with it? You're about to find out what those issues are. Maaaaybe you can guess what my issues are once you finish it. BUT STILL, it's a good drama. But I would have given it a 9 or even a 10 if not for those two things.... And it isn't TERRIBLE. It's just one of those dramas that trips and falls right at the finish line for me. It's a pet peeve when a drama is so well written all the way up to the end and the writers don't know how to clean everything up nicely.
And Dr. Hottie... We need to talk out his character once you're finished, too. I never really GOT his intention. He confused me. I kiiiind of understand, but yeah.... Let's talk it out later.
