Now, are you saying he's acting as a gay man in the drama, or that he's gay IRL!? LOL!!! Because now that you've put it out there, I don't doubt either possibility! And you're right, even though I detest her, the series wouldn't be the same without the "girl you love to hate." She definitely pushes the story along, if nothing else.

And please, creep away. :) Can you imagine a Fruits Basket drama though?? It'd take so much CGI for it to be even HALFWAY decent. Oh my gosh. I'd be so, so critical of it that it would pretty much be doomed from the start (because I love that manga so much!!). It would be interesting for someone to try and pull it off though. They'd probably have to do it differently from the manga entirely. It'd be "loosely based" or something.

Dude, anything over 26 volumes for a manga and any drama over 20 episodes is too long. I need them to wrap that story up more efficiently. haha! But there are exceptions to every rule, and you mentioned one. I LOVE LOVE the Detective Conan series! That could never end and I would always watch it as long as the stories stay fresh. But even still, at *some* point, I need Jimmy Kudo to get his body back. But it can take a long time because each episode is so cleverly written and captivating. But with Naruto and Bleach, it's just a bunch of stupid fillers, like you said, and fighting and speeches. I get bored with it.

My other thing is, when a manga series is more than 26 volumes, it gets expensive! At about $10 each, you're talking hundreds of dollars in comic books. It hurts a little.

And Fruits Basket isn't a drama, but it is an anime. It'd be crazy expensive to make that into a drama.

OMG! I love that you came back with a bang and just had me literally laughing out loud. "The other guy is gay. Dude, I can just tell" LOL!! Hilarious!

Yeah, the situation with the ferry made me angry with Dae Woong, but he *did* come back to get her, so I couldn't stay too mad at him. And he is sooooo in denial, right?? But it's still so fun to watch. And how much do we hate "noona"?? I cannot STAND that girl. I don't even think she's pretty. She looks like an underfed forest animal... A deer or something less cute. Bah.

And I like the site changes! Especially the sorting feature!! I was pretty excited about that. :)

Ugh. Dude. I totally lost interest in Bleach because it was LONG AS F*CK. haha!! I have limits with dramas/animes/mangas when it comes to how long they are. It becomes a question of quality over quantity. I know for a fact that some manga series will be made longer if the early volumes are super successful. Then it just becomes a cash cow and the story line gets totally lost and pointless. Bleach, Naruto, Inuyasha, etcetera are all guilty of that.... See, now *I'm* ranting. haha! I guess we both have our sensitive topics. :)

Some manga series though--I can only think of four--I will read the manga and still be excited about the anime and drama. If I REALLY like the series, I'm excited about the different adaptations and don't mind that I already know the story line. Honey & Clover, Fruits Basket and Paradise Kiss are perfect examples. Sometimes the story changes, too. :)

I agree with everything you said about Queen Inhyun. It should have ended with episode 14. The last two episodes were way too emotional and unrealistic. Not that *anything* about the drama is realistic given the situation, but I dislike how the drama broke it's own established rules regarding the talisman--which ended up being completely unnecessary, right? But I'm really glad it ended happily, because I was going to hate it if he'd hung himself.

Like I mentioned to someone else, my main take-away from this drama is all the epic face-sucking. haha! Seriously!!! I don't think I've ever watched a Korean drama with more open-mouthed, unabashed kissing! Not one! This drama may have changed the game for other Korean dramas to step it up as far as making out! lol! You may get ONE good kiss in a drama, but this one was like kissing non-stop! I give it credit for that. haha!

Sure thing! Yeah, it was getting crazy good feedback/reviews from people here, so I'm curious now. I'll keep you posted. I might try watching that one next. I'm going to take a mini hiatus from Korean dramas since I just watched K2H, Queen Inhyun and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho back to back. I need a breather. haha

Hmm, I'd be interested to watch this JUST to see if Lee Minho plays the same character he always does: The attractive yet rude and insensitive jerk. lol!

It's amazing. I've only watched until 12, because I think now they are dating, I'm afraid all those cliches will…
And they do! lol!

I'm rating it 9/10. I think it's really good, it's just sad that you can't hear Koyuki's voice when singing.
I agree completely! It was adapted from the manga/anime SO well! And the casting was PERFECT! The Koyuki singing thing sucks big time though. It really put a damper on the movie. Even if the actor playing him couldn't sing, just dub in some rock stars voice! Sheesh!

But everything else about it was perfection. I love this series!

Did you read the Hana Kimi manga? I'm usually not pretentious about these things, but I am about that series because I liked the manga so, so much. The drama was OK for me. I watched it around the time when I first discovered Asian dramas, so I remember being excited about it in general. But looking back, it's pretty mediocre. But it's likable and funny. :)

Hahaha!! "Rocky Balboa"! I think you did a great job of diffusing the situation and explaining your point of view rationally. :)

I'm sorry to hear you got some bad news. I hope everything is alright. Take your time with the dramas. They aren't going anywhere. :) Take care of yourself and feel better.

Ha! I totally know what you mean! A really sexy guy can help keep my attention in a drama, but it's not enough to make me finish it if there's nothing else good about it!

I think Flower Boy Band is on my "plan to watch" list, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get to it... The premise of it doesn't even sound that great to me. Have you heard of this other drama called The Bride Mask? I checked out the page and there's nothing but RAVE reviews for it. I'm super curious now to watch it!

There are a lot of super popular dramas that made me go, "meh". Another one is You're Beautiful. I couldn't watch two full episodes of that drama. I'm kind of weird I guess. :) Have you watched The Greatest Love? I couldn't stand that one either. I think I got through eight episodes of that one before I dropped it.

Oh! And about the QIHM discussion thing! I meant to say that it's funny because I don't see you as the type to get wrapped up in that kind of mess, but sometimes it can't be helped, right? It happens by accident.

Reminds me of this one time where I compared a particular kpop boy group to strippers. haha! Someone replied to the comment and RIIIPPED into me. I thought it was the funniest thing! Why do people get all upset over sh*t people say in the Internet?? Really?? It's like, get a life! Plus, I only said it to be funny. :) But I think folks are sensitive about the things they like.

That being said... I suppose if someone posted a comment about how they hated Coffee Prince and it was the worst drama ever, I'd totally be like WHAAAAAAAT!?!?!? But I wouldn't say anything to them. I'd just assume they were crazy and keep it moving. :)

I'm so glad to hear you're enjoying this drama as much as I do! I'm re-watching it and falling in love with it all over again!

I love how feisty and precocious the lead girl is as she learns about the modern world. She's as cute as she can be! You can really identify with her. That's what I love about this series. You can identify with her feelings AND LSG's feelings in their situation. You feel sorry for her because he's being kind of mean to her and she's just trying to save him, but you also feel sorry for him because it *would* be really annoying to have to suddenly take care of and feed someone all the time. haha!

Just wait though because it's funnier and cuter. :)

My sentiments exactly. Not all dramas hook you from the first episode. Some of then have a gradual build up.... I can't think of any right now, but I'm pretty sure some do. lol!

Holy freakin' moly! It *IS* quite the heated discussion on that page. Maybe it's rude of me, but I always kind of chuckle to myself when people get really emotional on Internet message boards about anime/manga/drama/music. It's perfectly healthy to have a discussion where opinions differ, but hopefully they only take it so far and agree to disagree at some point. It's just not that deep. :)

On the Secret Garden page, I posted that I didn't care for the drama and didn't particularly understand why other people like it so much. I had three or four people try to explain to me why they like it. That's all fine and dandy, but I still don't want to go back and re-watch it. haha!

See, the fact that you don't remember it is evidence enough that it wasn't particularly good. :) If I can't remember that I watched a drama, that tells me it probably wasn't worth watching.

Isn't it funny when you get angry at the main characters in a drama? I'm good at calling someone "stupid" in a minute. haha! Good to hear the anger was worth it though, because usually it's not!

I was telling prettykewe about Gumiho since she hadn't seen it. And then, I thought about this one adorable scene. Do you remember when LSG is sleeping on the mats, and Shin Min Ah is laying below him saying, "Fall! Fall! Fall!" And then she kicks the mats to make him fall over into her arms?? Haha! Thinking about that made me decide to re-watch it. :)

Lee Dong Wook was in Scent of a Woman. Which was a really good drama, but my only complaint was that as the male lead, he had the personality of a cardboard box. So I'm not sure if that was the writer's fault or if he's a poor actor. Maybe I'll watch My Girl after Gumiho and decide. I hate it when good-looking male leads don't have any personality--or that same old stoic, arrogant "I'm sexy and I know it" personality. haha! I need more than a pretty face.

You know what else that video reminded me of? The parody Big Bang did called "Secret Big Bang." I'm not a huge Big Bang fan, but that video was HILARIOUS.
