True - ratings/like/dislikes is such a subjective topic.

Guess as long as everyone has something that they enjoy - dramas for me are a happy place, comfort hobby/interest. While we cannot completely ignore this facet of ranking/reviews, main thing that I take out of all this conversation/engagements that we have for dramas - how passionate we all for it, and always good to hear different perspectives.

Yes, that is what shizukumax also shared and which is why I included in my original comment. Ahhh - the mystery/suspense has become so much but am glad the comedy/romance scenes help keep such a perfect balance.

That's a great point and while not everyone watches cause of the hype or stanning the actors, but you have to agree - some do. Or maybe many - we don't know cause we don't know what is the total number of watchers.

Hence for ratings - there are audience who are like you, but it also has folks who are stanning, there for the hype. Which is why I label ratings to have a bias factored in its results.

The reason that this post has so many comments - and perspectives, is a proof of this too, every drama has a diverse audience too.

I am the person - who has rated QoT average, it did not resonate with me. But I respect this feat that it was able to suprass so many other great dramas of its own time and has now made a mark that will be known in history. Not an easy feat - and so mad respect for the entire team. It is indeed special.

And just like how QoT became speacial, raised the bar and surpassed other dramas that are great still, similarly maybe other dramas will do the same.
Afterall records are meant to be broken.

In my eyes, I "feel" Lovely Runner maybe can or should, but may not - and hence my comment. Even Lovely Runner has viewers like you (neutral), slightly biased (like me - cause I have special place for the story premise, leads as having seen them grow from cameo/support roles to now), biased fans and then haters too.

I don't understand - QoT and CLOY and Goblin were not even airing in the same years 😂😂😂 but they were still being "compared"

Taking a sports example - it is like comparing Cristiano Ronaldo with Roger Federer and asking who is the best. Agreed that the common factor is sports for them but their fields are very different, and they are great in their respective leagues. But that will still not stop someone from commenting things like "CR is the best sportsman in the world". Maybe he is maybe he is not. Yet we still have rankings like this - Best Sportsman in the World, but what is the basis?

Similarly for drama - yes they are both dramas of different categories. Now someone has already said this that QoT is the best tVN drama in terms of rating. Just like how anyone can say CR is the best. Similarly someone can also say Roger Federer is the best - just like how we said Lovely Runner can be,

Hope I was able to share my point across - as this was just a general question what next can surpass this drama, QoT. And just my opinion that Lovely Runner should given it has all the right ingredients to be a hit, but will not because of several factors which makes QoT special to its viewers.

I get your point - you want to highlight that viewership is different for weekend and weekday drama, which actually supports my initial statement.
Which is why we cannot compare these two dramas, and neither was I or @Emzfmz doing that, just a curious question and opinion.

So QoT surpassed Goblin, CLOY and many others in ratings for the tVN List that is doing rounds. Does that mean that actors of one drama are comparable to another? Or more better or worse than others? Some may say yes - or no to the above question.

But my outlook on this is - each drama that is on the list, did well in its time slot, in its days, with its targeted audience. If they resonated well in this scope - the rating are high, if not the ratings are low. Honestly ratings should show this time period, but the makers of such lists tend to blur the lines and generalize it - why? so that we can have healthy debates like this.

I personally don't want to compare them one by one, going frame by frame in comparison, and honestly one cannot. Cause the ratings/liking towards any entertainment form has tangible and intangible aspects. No one can fully comprehend it, let alone analyse and put in on a graph and share results. Why can we not see lists/rankings as more fun and appreciate the competition. It is not a list that is foolproof of biases of any kind.

I am not - but even if I was - why not? Rookie actors of today, can or rather will be mainstream/popular actors tomorrow. Or maybe already are - we are just seeing one side of the coin. ⭐

Tbh, have never enjoyed ratings - in anything not just k-dramas but maybe even say, universities! haha - the only one that makes sense is ports - cause it is something we have witnessed in terms of performance.

Here - how can we know who are really watching the show and loving it, or are they watching it just because there is nothing else to watch, or like me finishing a show - cause I don't want my dropped list to grow :P

But then we are humans - and in some way or the other competitive ourselves, or love knowing the leaderboards. it keeps us on our toes - and we love this - no matter who tops the chart.

But yes- Lovely Runner is just so beautiful - I have not felt like this since Mr Queen, perhaps and that is saying something. Really, really, really hoping the writers and directors don't mess it up and it finishes really STRONG!

We just cannot compare QoT with CLOY and other dramas, each has its own charm. But yes, ratings and rankings will always be there - and there are bound to be ups and downs. Doesn't mean QoT is better than others - just a matter of time and choices of viewers.

Have seen some comments saying how it is much better than few other shows.

QoT though nice - I honestly don't see how it can be compared to CLOY, Goblin and Reborn Rich. They are all so different and each good in its own place.

Honestly, even with 7 episodes - Lovely Runner is a very engaging drama with everything going right for it. But why it will not surpass is not because of the story, acting and production - but because the star power/fame/popularity/related hype is less than QoT and tVN is not marketing it as much it did QoT.

Sad, bitter truth - but I really hope Lovely Runner finishes well. At least the MDL ratings so far are being honest.

Don't get me wrong - I liked QoT (not loved) but Lovely Runner has all my heart.

These two are such talented artists - the range these guys bring - the tears and heartache, the comedic relief, the fear in their eyes and everything in between. In awe everytime - even though I have been watching them both since their cameo/support role era

2008 case was not an abduction, that taxi guy was never caught, cause no one sees him - neither Sun Jae, neither the police officer. But he sees Sun Jae. Also 2008, old Im Sol is back and she has no memory, so she cannot share why she was at the reservoir or if someone abducted her.
The case was closed a mystery.

Then the taxi driver tried abducting her again in 2009 - and that is where Sun Jae again helps her, and catches the taxi driver dude. OR maybe someone else. But here old Im Sol is so disturbed as she frequently lost her memories - that she blocks this again along with Sun Jae.

But taxi guy if caught in 2009, is out again and is coming after them both. Sun Jae more as he remembers that he is the one who thwarted his plans twice. And hence wanted to kill him.

In case he is not caught either in 2008 or 2009 - this is a cold case, which is what the police is trying to solve. And the guy therefore was still trying to kill Sun Jae.

Ooo I like the Tae Sung intervention and help in reuniting these lovers - by helping them time travel. Perhaps the taxi driver or the stalker girl will cause an issue to Sun Jae, making Sol want to travel back.

Which is where Tae Sung will fulfil his SML duties, and right the wrong of the past - and help her time travel.
