Condemn the act, not the doer. This is what I shared sometime back, as well. Punish them and give them a chance…
Thank you - and glad to meet again on the comments sections!
Believe me, a part of the reason for joining MDL and writing comments/reviews/posts was so that I can articulate better in short.

Apparently that is not the case - haven't been able to change since I started writing essays in school πŸ˜‚ But that's okay - given the response I get from MDL-ers, looks like someone is reading it out there.

And yes, reason it is long and so detailed - cause I want to get everything off my chest and I genuinely want to know what others are thinking. We are in a virtual space so this is the only way, else IRL am sure we will all have a very animated discussion that will go on for endless hours. And I love every bit of it! So thank you for commenting back with your kind words πŸ’›

Also - cases like that Yoo Ah In, not saying that they should not be punished, just do it so that only they are impacted and also give them a chance to change/reform. Which is why for his case, you have rehabs.

It is so sad when I read that due to a scandal of a celeb, or even if they are a suspect - not only they are being affected but also the people around them - personal and professional circle.

I didn't want to bring it up - it is not related, but am sure those reading would understand why I am saying it in this context. The recent case of the actor, Lee Sun Kyun - we don't know if he was guilty, but the cancel culture drove him to such a point that he saw no other choice than to take his own life. What a loss it is for all of us - and now who should we hold guilty for this life that is lost.

I feel we never learn - not only for cases that are related to scandal, but just in general too - posting mean comments about celebs, or being so intrusive that they lose their privacy. It is a con of the limelight they are in - some would say, but then I feel as a progressive society we should keep ourselves in check too, and advocate the same to others around us.

Ep 6 around 16 minutes or so - Jun Suk Ho who plays Seo Hui gets accidently hit in someone else's fight. Totally took me back to his role as Secretary Kong in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon - the infamous Chicken Fight and hip injury 🀣🀣🀣

Well said. I have loved dramas that were not well received and felt meh about some really popular ones.
Exactly and thank you for saying that.

I know it feels a little sad or disbelief rather when someone say that they don't like a drama which you may love and be recommending to literally every other person. I feel that too - when I recommend some drama, and the other person did not get into it or worse, hated it. If it a close friend then we try to convince them and it is all in good sport. Or we let it be after all you cannot force someone to like the same things that you like. And that is absolutely fine, it can happen vice versa too.

Point is we must accept the differing opinions - it does not impact the person who likes it, or dislikes it or even the actual drama and its artists/crew πŸ˜‚ Such an abstract thing - opinion is, but we tend to get carried away.

A little bit of it is fine, just it is sad when people start commenting awful stuff and gang up on someone.

But thank you - hopefully our comments and differing opinions can be an example how both can co-exist. πŸ₯°

Nerd me is super happy to see all those VR scenes. Still on Ep 2 where am seeing his training mode stuff - reminds me of Neo's training in The Matrix and the car race of Spy Kids 3D

Also - the first scene itself in Ep 1 with the cows was so realistic, sad and can literally make your stomach churn.

she's doing an amazing job in choosing scripts....which is enjoyable for the audience and shows her flexibility…
Can't agree more with you ! I have not seen all her dramas but I loved her since the first time I saw her in the movie, The Beauty Inside. Then came W:Two World and her cameo in 20 Century Girl, what beautiful stories in their own rights.

Currently seeing her in Blood Free and what a 180 degree shift in personality/mood basis the character she has done. She really is a fine actress even in the limited work that I have seen of her. Waiting to make more time, and watch her other works - cause like you said I trust her abilities and am sure her other dramas would also be wonderful!

The idea of this novel/drama is so great. Sad, but humbling - making one realize how grateful we should be just for life to exist on Earth.

I have not read the novel but saw the trailer and read the summary just now. Have been seeing articles circulating for this drama, and I know it was in news a lot cause of Yoo Ahn In. But today is the day I read/saw the trailer with undivided attention - and what an amazing story idea this is. Like how do people even think of this? Kudos to the writer!

Life is so unpredictable as is, and we are yet to know the workings of the universe. But just like how a meteor is going to hit earth and the epicenter is a particular country - this can very well happen IRL. I am just thinking - what if does, what will you, what will you feel. And more than us - how will others around us react which will affect our course of action and priorities.

I am usually a positive person, or rather I try to be - but this is such a humbling yet terrifying idea. Makes you realize to be more grateful for the time you have on this earth. Love yourself - others around you and the earth in itself. The very land that we are on - we take it for granted not even thinking that it can very much not remain in a second, if something like this drama were to occur.

So I know it can sound a bit tacky - but I sincerely mean this. This platform is my happy place - it came to me when I was at my lowest, and life has been better since. Really grateful for all the people I have met here - and am not sure if and when we can meet IRL - but am thankful for all of you - creators and users of MDL ❀️

I love you yoo ahin! I hope he's getting the help he actually needs. he doesn't deserve to be erased like this…

Regarding this cancel culture - tbh I am yet to understand this behaviour, possible because I am not a Korean local. Still, I feel that is quite sad - the accused person is being punished, but why are the other artists, show-makers and family also punished cause of these cancellation? What did they do wrong?

Also - I don't understand how their presence will hurt the audience. Like they know what he has done, so ofc they won't be crazy for him - but we can still appreciate his work. These are two very separate things.

Instead of cancelling or editing them out - why not make the proceeds from the work, whatever was going to go to that respective actor/actress, donate it to a good cause. Cancelling it out - I feel is a disrespect to the other folks who have worked on that project. Like just because of someone else - their hard work is going to the dumps.

The preview shows - that somehow the FL has changed her fate. She did not meet with the accident and therefore…
Yes, she did interview at a events/marketing company - so looks like she is going to be around Eclipse and Sun Jae a lot.

And I forgot another character - we also have Baek In Hyuk. I mean firstly not possible for Sun Jae to forget his "first sarang" - and he has another guy, In Hyuk to remind him and her both of their past times.

Guess, he is acting petty - just like how he did in school time too initially.
Damn, why so frustratingly adorable Sun Jae~ahhhh!

The preview shows - that somehow the FL has changed her fate. She did not meet with the accident and therefore…
I have been watching K-dramas since 2006 and it was always, always binge watching completed dramas. In any case there were hardly any airing ones available unlike today - in my country.

But I think it all changed cause of dramas like - True Beauty and Mr Queen, in 2020. Guess this is also the pandemic effect - I already was eager to watch those dramas after completion - but everyone just started posting stuff on social media, left - right and center. I mean we all know how much the SNS scene boomed in that time.

Guess things have not been the same since - you would really "feel" FOMO - and it is not just another weird acronym we have made. Like if you don't watch it the curiosity will literally kill you πŸ˜‚

Drama addiction is real, and airing drama more so. OR maybe we just lack patience and willpower πŸ˜†

For this drama - I blame them all - story, characters, music - all are so good, how can one resist. They better do right by this drama and make it a mega hit of this year!

No she did realise that she is his first love, even before she time travelled. Which is why she came out of the house and was going to the playground.

She figured it out but then the taxi driver turned up....

Totally missed that point that old Im Sol would be back, and she would be doing her ignore Sun Jae best. Probably humiliating herself infront of Tae Sung - omg the cringe 🀣

But yes, jokes aside - basically in the original timeline: he had a one-sided crush and never confessed. He naturally accepted things as they were and chose to care for her from the sidelines. He ofc jumped in (literally) and protected her but then was blamed for her handicap. So he moved away from her sight so as to not remind her - but given his radio show, the songs he wrote, the interviews he gave - he loved her, ALWAYS and FOREVER! (Quoting my favorite One Tree Hill couples here #Naley)

But now with the Timeline being altered - he had the opportunity to get close to her, and she is the one who proclaimed that she loved him. This confused him at first but gave him the courage to be closer to her, and finally confess to her. But he doesn't understand - why she is rejecting him.
Like he probably is gonna think she is hung up on Tae Sung - cause he will save her from the Taxi driver - but this Im Sol will be transported back and old Im Sol will be back. Now she will be clueless and therefore thankless towards Sun Jae for saving her, and will say that she does not remember his confession - which is quite a disprespect in Sun Jae's eyes/mind. Plus, am sure given how Tae Sung mad old Im Sol is she is probably gonna chase after him, Again. And this will literally break Sun Jae's heart.

Which is why from that point - he will remember her, the first love who broke his heart - even though deep down he will always care for her.

Afterall - the scene where he is saying he doesn't know her - seems like the place she asked him to come on 1 Jan 2023 - remember the time capsule. He probably dug that up - and cause he still cares to some level, he is there to meet her. But yes, not 100% sure - why is he acting petty.

OR maybe this is him being a bit of snob, to give Im Sol a taste of her own medicine. I mean he might be seeing her - as someone who now is approaching him cause he is a star and is sharing that she love/likes him or something. Idk - teen/adult love in drama can be so confusing and frustrating.

I really hope next week comes SOOOONN! What has this drama done to me?

Exactly - this is why we have terms like underrated gems, unpopular opinions etc.

I think I might get virtually stabbed or something if I say I did not like Goblin as much as the world liked it. I mean I love some scenes, and even quote it in my interactions online and IRL - and have loved Lee Dong Wook since eternity. But yes, the drama did not work for me - as it did for so many others, and how many are crazy about it. I get them and hope they get me too, but yeah ~ not always!

Regarding the Ep 7 Preview - some thoughts..Adding it under second/third comment and spoiler tag cause someone…
The preview shows - that somehow the FL has changed her fate. She did not meet with the accident and therefore is not wheelchair bound, and am guessing due to which she got some opportunities which she did not have before. Like we can see her taking the steps for that interview, which earlier she was rejected from.

Now it cuts the scene to Ryu Sun Jae as the Eclipse star - asking her who she is, and it looks a little alarming.

While with such time-travel stories, we know that the butterfly effect logic works. If you change something, other things will also change. Maybe as things got better with Im Sol in her personal life, the relationship with Sun Jae suffered.

Also, going by the end of Ep 6 - she rejects his confession, and is not able to meet him either in the playground. We don't know yet - if they meet, high chance they don't as Im Sol is clearly escaping from the taxi driver. But Sun Jae is also shown to be looking at the umbrella and the ropes etc in the preview - so he probably is involved in rescue mission or so. But even if he is - seems like he was hurt at the rejection.

So fast forward to the changed present where Im Sol can walk, but Sun Jae refuses to remember her - maybe it is not that he is forgotten but is pretending to have?

I mean it is an old saying that one never forgets their first love IRL - so this is drama we are talking about. Ofc, he remembers her - but he is hurt from her past actions which is why he refuses to acknowledge her. But deep down he still loves her - or a part of him cares for her.

What do you all think?
Apologies - if it is a long one - I did not filter/edit, just typing what is coming to my mind at the moment. Just need to discuss . . . cause the wait is too long for the next episode.

Tell me again - why do we watch airing dramas when we have 0 patience for the wait? Lol

Adding it under second/third comment and spoiler tag cause someone else was faster :P . Those who have completed the drama so far and seen the preview - what do you guys think? Let me know.

P.S. I am writing this post while on a break at work - talk about drama addiction!
