on ep 9 dfqc asked ch if he will choose to save shuiyuntian or save xlh, on ep 30 dfqc is on the same situation…
Yes, and CH always chose duty over her. I don’t think DFQC will choose duty over her, I think he will choose to save both. But to your point, it’s this type of thought-out writing that I enjoy in this drama and it gives the characters and story more depth.
Thats how good it is, thankfully there were some naggers about Esther voice, but once you get to know her in character…
Yes~ isn’t it amazing how she wins you over. I think I first saw her in I’ve Fallen For You and was annoyed at first but she really grew on me and I found her to be really adorable. Especially when I saw that that’s how she is in real life too. Lol~ But even though she can be cute hee serious scenes are really good and well-acted so I like and respect her.
This is like the most exciting drama and LLTG is like the most boring drama i watch at least this year not even…
I agree. Of course, I don’t want to speak negatively about LLTG for all the people who love it but I didn’t finish it because there were a number of characters who were just not great for me. Also. It was so slow moving and all of the unnecessary side characters really slowed the plot execution I thought. The costume and acting by Leo Wu was great but I agree with you that putting aside all of the fandom this drama LBFAD is just perfectly executed. It is so well-paced, the story advanced without unnecessary filler and plot devices and the acting is superb. Add to that the phenomenal soundtrack (I don’t even remember the music from LLTG), the beautiful costumes and set and I just have to say to me this is my favorite drama of 2022. Both Chinese and Korean drama combined. Again, just my personal opinion. I don’t think I’ve been this obsessed with a drama in a super long time.
So how is U.N. Bromance going to pull this off?The Immortal Emperor needs to be overthrown.CH isn't strong enough…
Wait, so are you suggesting the wedding is a ruse and DFQC will use that opportunity to team up with CH to overthrow the emperor so the two nations can have peace without bloodshed? I like it. That would mean Orchid doesn’t really marry CH.
There are a lot of fan made compilations out there so I wouldn’t put much stock in it. I don’t think the ending will be sad. I think it will be a satisfying one. The writers have been very good so far in their storytelling and execution. A sad ending would be really inconsistent and not make much sense with the story/plot and characters that they have built up to this point. So I don’t think a SE will happen.
// making this a reply because ill be mentioning other artists' names and i didnt want it to be a part of the…
Yeah, the COVID thing is kind of crazy. Heck, I’ve asked strangers to hold my place in line while having to take an urgent call. I wish people who rationally view celeb actions as they would normal people and things will be fine. No need to create drama and chaos. As much as I am happy that he is getting more fame and status it does make me worried about him being targeted. I’m sure or hope that his Studio and he are also aware and are on guard against things like that and he super careful.
I don’t want a Season 2 and would like a full and complete and happy ending. BUT, if they were to make a Season 2 I do have some questions on points that they dropped throughout the drama: 1) did DFQC and Orchid know each other in the past? When she was Xishan goddess? 2) Chidi Woman’s comment that when she first saw DFQC on the roof that she felt hate, respect and concern. Could she possibly ha liked DFQC during their fighting days and that’s why she fell in love at first sight with him? 3) how did CH and Xishan goddess get engaged? 4) how did the Chidi woman know the Xilan clan so well? 5) what really happened to Jieli and her mom?
I’m sure there is more but I’m just wondering about these
One thing I see from the perspective of orchid. For 1500 years, she stayed in arbiter hall, performing her duty…
The more I watch the more I am convinced the fairies are evil, discriminatory, bullies and a bunch of hypocrites like DFQC says and it’s the Moon Tribe who are just trying to live a peaceful life. The whole conflict started when Chonghs from fairyland betrayed the first moon lady (forgot her name).
It will be a Magnificent ending and I have full trust in the writers and directing team of this drama because…
I think so too. The writing has been so tight, conscious and detailed and so well thought out that for the first time for a Cdrama I say I have faith in the writers to pull us through. I don’t know how much time they’ll spend on the actual happy ending but I think the ending will be a happy one.
So conflicted. I want to watch the upcoming episodes so badly but don’t want the drama to end at the same time.…
Me too! I would love to see a few “filler” eps of DFQC and Lanhua being happy. They deserve it. But given how CDramas operate, they may give us like 5-10 minutes of happy at the very end. At least I hope it’s not an open ending.
But to the point of the drama being longer, there is definitely source material that could make the drama longer. There were so many things dropped that raised questions for me about all of the characters 30,000 years ago and how that karma led to now. So I think the story could have easily gone to at least 40-45. I think they didn’t have enough sponsors/investors when they first made this project so they may have cut it short. If they knew it was going to be a big hit like this I’m sure they would have made it longer.
I’m so glad to hear this drama is doing so well. It’s such a well-made drama and you can tell the actors and cast worked so hard to make it perfect. I was really impressed with Dylan Wang’s acting in this drama. His many subtle expressions convey such nuance and meaning in every scene that gives depth to the story and character. It’s hard to pull off and I think he just nailed it. I was floored with his performance in Ep 18 and continue to be amazed by how great the story is being told. I hope this is the megahit like The Untamed or Ashes of Love for him that skyrockets both him and Esther Yu to even more fame and better projects. And I hope they do another drama together. I love their chemistry. Also, wouldn’t it be such amazing chaos to see them paired in a regular variety show together? That would be such fun!

Thanks! Will definitely rate it! I don’t recall the last time a drama was this good and each and every single episode was so well executed from costume to plot to acting to dialogue to the special effects and all the attention to detail. It really deserves a 10/10!
