Saw some posts comparing Bad Buddy and My School President, and some said that one is better or the other one…
I dont think its fair to comparr them. BB is more of a coming out allegory with characters who struggle with their sexuality and with being out in the open. MSP is about finding love, developing trust in each other, and parental acceptance and support.
Chimon and Perth are acting circles around Pond and Phuwin and it's not even close... the scene with Pond reacting…
Well, that scene at the beach was most likely the director's idea. However, while I agree it was not a good scene, I can't agree that it was "terrible". Palm was letting it all out. I can't say that Pond acted the heck out of the scene, but he didn't ruin it either. He did OK.
Phuwin was a bit off in that scene, but I blame the writing. Like, who the heck asks someone who just witness his mother get shot and die, "Are you OK?".
On the other hand, the whole shoving match was just drama for drama's sake. It made me mad.
Thhe Asunaro Daki (Backhug) and the scene that followed was pretty good.
There seems to be a persisent misconception that it's illegal for minors to have sex. It's not. It's illegal for…
I am pretty sure is not remote. Perhaps they are exaggerating. But it may reflect a general feeling that having sex with a person under 18 is not right.
You are going way too far to defend this. Both me and jp have put forward our points and provided support for our points. The law is clear and it is murky. Having sex with a person under 18 carries very clear risks. You can get in trouble. You may not. If you are Army, you see no benefits and will find no reason to risk it.
You and i wont agree on anything based on your general views of conscent. I think you overestimate the influence of the international fandom and underestimate the artistic impetus of the producers to change the status quo
Honest question for those who speak Thai. I don’t speak Thai, but somehow the way the nurse is speaking seems…
I don't speak Thai, but I can tell she is just a bad actress. She speaks like a robot. I think we are used to the natural cadence of Thai, and even though we are not native speakers, we can tell when someone's cadence is off, like in her case. :)

Aloha, Mr. or Mrs. Truth Dares.
I am no expert in Thai law. I assume neither are you. The point I made is that Army's reaction was based on the fact that he could be in a lot of poop if he has sex with a minor under 18. Whether the law is strictly enforced or not, or has some loopholes, it doesn't matter. And yes, I oversimplified my explanation.
I am not one of those purists that thinks that age gap stories are taboo, so don't worry. You are preaching to the choir. I do think that ppl have the wrong impression of Thailand when it comes to this stuff. I don't want to get kicked out of MDL for using forbidden keywords, but you know that there are those who go to Thailand looking for the kinds of things they can't get back home, and this is one of them. They think Thailand will be the paradise for them. They are wrong. As you say, if the person can proof or suggest you are in a position of power, or are taking advantage of said minor, and you are screwed. You mentioned Newyear and Both, totally different and 100% Both taking a risk, because Newyear could have lured him in and then said Both took advantage of him. That's what Army was afraid of. I hope that makes sense. :)
PD I also think you are a bit naive thinking the Thai judicial system is straight and fair. From what I have read, I wouldn't put it past a Thai court to rule in favor of the minor just because they want to be conservative. So, even if it was someone not in a position of power, they are taking a chance. Just IMO.
The minute he turned his back, I knew what was going to happen. It was really idiotic. Palm is too good of a fighter…
From the very beginning I thought the mom is the villain. Now that you mention it, why haven't they shown her in a comma? On the other hand, she did get shot in the stomach.
Did Chopper dad confess to shooting Nueng's dad? Because my theory is that the mom got the dad murdered and then the brother tried to murder her. None of them are worthy of the inheritance they seek. It will be one of those cases were the sons will take the place of the parents and will do better than them. Chopper will take over his dad's little gambling empire and Nueng will take over the hotel or real estate business of his mom.
I agree they need a twist, but hopefully you and I are both incorrect and it ends up being something really insanely creative, though I don't have much hope. I mean, you are talking about the same writers who thought it was a good idea to have the one girl in the story, who lives in Bangkok, showed up all the way at Palm's mom's hotel. BTW Did you catch that she kicked and screamed, then yelled for Palm when the thugs tried to take her camera, but then told Palm that "it is just a camera" and not worth his life. Girl, you literally were willing to get murdered for the camera and when you did not succeed, you yelled for him to help you. Hypocrite.
I want to see Perth bonking Chimon. I love both of them. They are hot. Perth is a sexy beast and Chimon has this vulnerability that I love and gets me going. So, let's cross our fingers that we get a scene like the one in Ghost House. Yummy.
That was very difficult to get through. How big an idiot is Palm to turn his back on two people who intend to…
The minute he turned his back, I knew what was going to happen. It was really idiotic. Palm is too good of a fighter to be a fisherman and too bad of a bodyguard to be trusted with someone else life. IDK.
I do like the Ben and Chopper story. Unlike you, I find it pretty realistic. I think Ben was never in love with Nueng, and we got hints of that. I think he likes Chopper because Chopper showed him affection, or maybe he always like Chopper just like Nueng always liked Palm. They were just two gay boys experimenting with each other.
I thought the same exact thing about the girl going to the hotel. That was very lame.
I think we can't jump to conclusions yet with Palm's dad. It is possible someone is paying the police to get him arrested and that's why the police is charging him when there is little to no evidence. If it turns out it was just police incompetence, then so be it. I had take it as a social critic, not a plot hole. If it turns out to be that Chopper's dad paid the police, then we will know that the writers were not being very subtle. :O
In any event, I do like this series TBH. It has lots of plot holes but compared to Golden Blood, this is Oscar worthy :D And this is so much better than Star in My Mind, Cupid's Last Wish or Vice Versa. I didn't like any of those. I had high expectations for Star In My Mind because of Joong, but man was it bad, especially towards the end. Last Wish was so boring, and I didn't finish it. Vice Versa was a mess. IMO The worst BL from GMMTV I have ever seen. So, I think that Never Let Me Go is a big improvement. Not as good as My School President, but it is good, plot holes and all.
Is this a BL? Why is the main character in love with a girl? The boys in this are adorable, but this is a mess.…
I think we need to let the entire series play out to decide what kind of message they are trying to convey about BDSM. Its too early to tell.
I just read an article that said sex ed in Thailand is pretty bad and teachers and texbooks often condemn "deviant" acts, such as homosexual sex, masturbation, etc. So I think the teacher's reaction is meant as social satire to poke fun at how conservative Thai society is.
They basically promoted series as Mafia family drama and they said that the series will be around the young generation…
I guess my point is that he won't solve anything by being sad. Some might say he has the right attitude. His mom is safe for now, he can't do anything to get her out of the comma, and while I would argue he should want to visit her in the hospital, he may very well just feel better by distancing himself from the problem. We all face adversity in different ways. I don't think it makes him a bad person, maybe not the best son in the world LOL but not a terrible person either.
They basically promoted series as Mafia family drama and they said that the series will be around the young generation…
So if your life is in danger, you dad was murdered in cold blood, and your mom gets shot and is in a comma, you wouldn't take advantage of that one week or weeks in your life when you can be with the person you have a crush on? You would just spend all your time crying and being sad?
I mean, I get this is bad, but his mom is not dead and he already went through a lot before. For all we know, he spent a day or two crying non-stop but we didn't see it. He is a survivor and he knows how to survive.
Yeah, the story has some issues, I won't deny, but I am not sure what ppl want from Nueng. To spend the entire series crying and upset? Hopefully we will get some strong emotions from him later, but for now this is a time for him to heal and to discover who he is.
