You and I must be watching two different series. SLOW? They have already kissed by the end of Ep2.
Boring? The characters have been well fleshed out by Episode 3. It is a bit of a slow burn, but it is the kind of slow burn that is building up to something big. I feel like the sexual tension between them is increasing in every episode. The way they look at each other alone is making my heart skip a beat! :)
Anyway, to each its own. You can always drop the series.

Stay With Me is also a remake and was turned into a bromance. Is someone threatening you to watch?
Bromance? Did you miss the part where Wu Bi says, "Su Yu is mine" to that girl? Did you miss the part where they basically talk about having sex? Did you miss the part where the dad finds the lube they use? I could go on...
I have neither read the novel nor seen the first version, but I have seen Stay with me. The series was really…
who is the MC? Wu Bi?
You don't think the series has 2 main characters who are given equal screen time depending on the episode. For example, when Su Yu goes to see the uncle, we see the event through his eyes. When Su Yu is back home with his dad we see his family life through HIS eyes.
Those who dislike Maya should try to take their perspective. Her world has changed from one day to the next and…
Anyone that doesn't like Taichi is someone I don't like. LOL. I judge a person not by how they look, but how they think. And if someone doesn't like Taichi, I am concerned about how they think that they don't like someone as wholesome and as true to himself as Taichi.
I wouldn't call it boring. It is just a bit slow. Like, I felt that this last episode could have been 5 minutes…
Sure, but they could have cut a lot and the plot could move forward. They also didn't give us a lot of "moments" between them as a couple.
Did it started with them in class? Totally unnecessary, cut that. I would leave the first scene of them avoiding Maya, cut the lunch scene to a few minutes max. Have the scene with Taichi realizing the movie won be a conversation they have when they run into him. Taichi then leaves lunch runs into that guy, helps him, goes to have the cake and has that conversation.
Maybe not 5 minutes, but I bet it could be cut down to 10 minutes or 15 minutes. There was a lot of long pauses, lots of long shots, etc. The scene with Taichi eating the cake was a bit too long IMO. I think I got that he is unconventional and that the other guy was unhappy within the first minute of the scene, no need to pile on top of that.
Just my opinion of course.
The series is still good. I am loving it, so just a small complain.
Ok, so I guess I have a different view point, which I will share.
I have only watched Episode 1. My comments are only limited to what I have seen thus far.
August looks good and him and Mac look close in age. I still question why would they cast such a young actor in such a big role, but up to Ep 1, I really can't complain about his acting. I also don't mind the age gap as long as they keep things light. So far, so good.
I am a huge fan of Stay With Me. In episode 1 of this series, they have covered about the same amount of story as episode 1-3 of Stay With Me. However, unlike Stay With Me, I feel like we don't know the characters as well. In Stay With Me, Wu Bi had this entire arch with Su Yu's dad, which enabled us to see his as a "good kid". We also had seen how hard working and studious Su Yu was. By the end of episode 2, we had started to developed that connection with the character.
So my complain is actually that they are going for a weaker characterization in favor of faster pacing. I worry this is not the right choice for this story. After all, this is a pretty rich story with lots of layers, at least the way it was portrayed in Stay With Me, which IMO is one of the best BL series ever.
I will continue watching. And BTW, isn't it great to see August in another BL series? He is so beautiful! Just gorgeous. I like watching him in anything.
That was beautifully written and I agree 100%. In reading some of the comments here, it struck me that people…
Taichi is intense. His passion for food is part and parcel of who he is. He experiences life in the moment. I get why you are tired of it, but I don't think we can have him dial himself down. That would be un-Taichi ;)
This series is so boring and frustrating, but Kobayashi simply saves it with his charm and acting skills. I don't…
I wouldn't call it boring. It is just a bit slow. Like, I felt that this last episode could have been 5 minutes long (and it really felt like a 15 minute episode TBH).
I am really shocked that Kobayashi doesn't have any other leading roles. He is a really good actor. He is charming and charismatic, while still delivering the right amount of emotions.
That is your problem.
Not mine. I could care less.
So my suggestion is, drop it. Watch something else. Cutie Pie? LITA? There is plenty to choose from...

Oh I get it now.
