or Perth in Love by Chance....or Captain in Love Sick...or Ohm in Make It Right....Shall I go on? :O
In some countries it is. You can sign up to the army to go to war here in the USA at 18. I think to sign contracts it is 21 here in the USA, but 20 in Thailand. Drinking age is also 21 here in the USA, but where I am from is 18. Thailand is a bit weird in that some majority is achieved at 15, including the age of consent. In the USA the age of consent is 18.
Also at 18, you are already in college. Unless you are Fourth. He was in college at 17. LOL
But now we are going on a tangent. My point still stands. You don't like it. Don't watch. Don't promote it. Make a difference by supporting another show. No need to proselytize. Can we agree that the casting choice for this show is odd? Yes. Do I think it is child abuse? No. Will I watch? Yes. (I haven't yet, but have heard good things and did liked the trailer).

and I should add that I suspect the actor in Love and Fortune was exactly 18 when they filmed the series (for obvious reasons), but he was 19 when it came out.
I still think the age gap there is pretty crazy.
The on in Itazura Na Kiss always made me scratch my head, kind of like this one, but I wouldn't call it child abuse or whatever. It is just a bit strange of a choice.
I think the idea is to have a more grounded actor that can help anchor the scenes. IDK Just the only thing I can think of....

My point is that this has happened since the early years of BL. In fact, it happened with the first BL series (Captain and White), and it happened to one of the most respectable and most experienced actors in Thai BL (Ohm Pawat when he played opposite Toey in MIR). Ohm is probably a great example of why this is neither child abuse, nor traumatic because Ohm had such a great experience on set with Toey that he decided to become a professional actor. And although he has a choice, he is still making BLs.
Perth is also still making BLs, so I think it would be a stretch to say that he was traumatized.
Sometimes I wonder if these complains underlie a certain closeted homophobia. I am not saying you specifically, but in general, because MyDramalist doesn't seem to have these many complaints in the hetero series. Like, I don't recall seeing this much outrage against Itazura Na Kiss Love in Tokyo, which had the same exact age gap. Heck, the Japanese don't give a damn about these things. Love and Fortune (also Japanese) same thing. Lots of complains about the story, but none about the actor's age gap (19 vs 30). Outside of Mydramalist, there is a movie called The Reader, which would probably give you a heart attack, but again, boy and women, no outrage.
Having said all that, I understand why this series may make you uncomfortable, but you have a choice. Don't watch it.
Why are you using spoiler tags? This is not a spoiler.
I have a fried who uses the same nomenclature. I have no idea who came up with it. I find it very confusing, especially because the MC is also an ML, but the ML is not the MC according to this definition. So, I would say this is really not the best used of those terms.
I understand why anyone would avoid uke or seme, but in most Thai BLs, it is OK to use these terms. Here it is very clear who is the seme and the uke.
I also don't think we always have a single MC. Some series just seem to focus a bit more on one character in the early episodes and then do a switcharoo later, like in La Pluie or in Remember Me. Actually, Remember Me didn't have an MC, but multiple MCs since it was not told from a single perspective. I also don't know if I could identify an MC in ITSAY.
hahahaI assume they named it Eurocake, since when it was created like 20-30 yrs ago, cream filled cakes were a…
The Eurocakes taste nothing like Twinkies.
They are a custard filled vanilla sponge cake. Very soft. They remind me more of a Japanese cake, except sweeter and less spngy, more buttery maybe? IDK
Eurocake is a brand, not a cake syle. I think they are called eurocakes because they are nothing like a Thai dessert, as someone pointed above.
At this point I want to put joe back in that coma myself since he didn't learn enough from his first life. He…
His agency didn't fail him, it was Ming who failed him. Maybe he secretly wants to find Ming again? I think Joe has an unhealthy obsession with Ming. The man most be fantastic in bed. LOL
Love sick never needed and does not need NC scenes. It is about two young boys who fall in love. The book had…
I read it was the MCOT censors who didnt want those scenes to air. Had the parents been against it, they wouldn't have filmed them. The parents are p robably on set.
You didn't read the novel then. Noh and Phun have sex but they are not too explicit. I think there is a very generic…
Without Hormones, there will be no Love Sick.
Those are all mainstream series, Hormones in Thailand and Degrassi in Canada and the USA. My point is that series about teenagers often are casted with real teenagers and often talk abut sex (and drugs). Degrassi had a gay teenager coming out, and one male heterosexual character becoming a parent or dealing with pregnancy. Drake, the wrapper, was one of the main leads in Degrassi BTW.
Hormones had a BL couple. I think they kissed too. A lot of famous actors in Thailand were first in Hormones, including Nanon, James, and Tor.
My point, regardless of whether you watch these shows or whether you knew at the time that Captain (and Prim) were minors, the answer to your question: "Why are they making a show with sexual content that has minors as the leads?" is that it happens all the time, since the very beginning of BL (Ohm played a gigolo in Make It Right at the tender age of 15, while a similarly aged Boom played Tee, the character who took Fuse's virginity. Fuse was also played by a 17 year old Peak), and has also happened in mainstream media here in the USA/Canada/West.

I don't get how you can say you love something but then say it is morally wrong. Seems to me you should say you liked the novel but the adaptation was wrong for "sexualizing minors".

And i agree, the Aim plot is something I want to see redone with less sex or no sex involved. They basically made her into a whore amd then shamed her for being "easy" while ignoring the fact that Phun was sexually unfaithful.

You are so prudish. And i dont enjoy the drama because they are minors, i enjoy it because they are portraying innocent, first love. As a heterosexual person, you probably dont get how cute and healing it is to see gay love portrayed so innocently.
So for me, its the lack of explicit sex in this context that i enjoy the most.
The original LS was what madeThai BL take off as a big time genre. The only big fault was the university characters…
August will also be the main in the remake of Addicted. Ngern did a few series too. He played a supporting character in Love In Translation and guest in Middle Man's Love and has an upcoming series.

Also, she doesn't have sex with "multiple men", they are all teenagers. If I recall correctly at least, maybe I forget the details of that part.
Aim and Phun had sex. So did Noh and Phun. None of the sex was explicitly portrayed. Noh was played by a 15 year old Captain. I assume you also disapprove of that?

MCOT is owned by the Thai government.
