Together With Me Next Chapter did a pretty good job, even though people hated it for obvious reasons. A cheating…
is Kiss Me Again worth watching? What about Kiss Me?

I haven't watched them so I am watching Pete Kao for the first time here in DBK.

I am watching 3WBF which you suggested and I am enjoying it. Its pretty good. Tay is good on it and that guy Joss, OMG, ufff, he melts the screen every time he is on a scene ;) (Thought I don't get his choice of t-shirts)...

But it is also on Line soooooo
You may be correct but I would expect that from MCOT, not GMM TV. (I understand MCOT is owned by the government so I imagine they would be more strict).

GMM has been more daring in its productions and the director (I THINK) and producer can choose the medium they use, so if they wanted to be more edgy they could have chosen to air it on LINETV. So its not like the entire process is on the hands of the GMMTV execs. (Well, it also depends on the contracts signed by Tay and New).

And as I said above, my personal issue is not so much with the skinship they show or the number of kisses, but the other, much more simple things, like holding hands, putting your arm around your partner, sitting close to each other, etc. All the things that Love Sick did so well even when it was aired on MCOT in 2014!...

I don't know what straight asians shows you've been whatching, but this series shows much more than the regular…
In Thai lakorns, at least they will show a kiss or a genuine warm hug. The poster is right, this show is a bit of a disappointment but I want to be clear that at least for me is not the "skinship" that I am talking about. They could have one kiss or some hand holding and I would be happy. I haven't watched the last episode yet (I prioritize TharnType because its much better) but I really haven't seen much in terms of affection between Kao and Pete. Heck, Love Sick, which is much older, probably had more hand holding and hugs than this show, and that show was on MCOT.

IDK I will keep watching mostly for Tay ('cause he just seems like an awesome guy) and Rain ('cause he is cute) but yeah, I am not too happy about how it has turned out.

I know that Type and Tharn are casual lovers and that means they're more than sex friends, but they aren't formal…
"something more than just talk about curry"

I will add to the previous poster's comments that Tharn knows what he is getting into. Let's not pretend that…
He is a survivor of sexual abuse. He is a strong guy in my book :)

i think the first part is corect, western tend to be more dark. not fluffy.people don't want the complex and reality…
I think the OP means that we are moving from BLs that deal with a plot taken from a regular Lakorn or even Shojo manga, but turned into BL, to BL that has a plot with an underlining of current LGBQT issues.

SOTUS does not deal with real LGBQT issues.

I feel totally torn inside. On the one hand I like Type less and less with every episode. He should just stand…
I will add to the previous poster's comments that Tharn knows what he is getting into. Let's not pretend that he is innocent.

I actually like Type more and more with each episode. Yes he is probably going to break Tharn's heart, and I have feared that for a long time, but he is also a very strong person, a real survivor. I admire that in him.

L-O-LAre you even gay? This drama, as I always said here in the comment section, is targeted to gay audience and…
BTW I am going to put myself out there and say that I am married and me and my husband have been together for 12 years. I always tell the story to those who dare ask, that we held off sex for about a grand total of 48 hours, the longest I had dated a guy without having sex.

I have never understood straight people and their rituals. I feel bad for my straight male friends who have to sometimes sing a song, do a dance, and jump around, just to get a girl to kiss them.

Oh, and yes, I kissed my husband about 1 hour after I met him. WE MOVE QUICK :P

I'm sick of the BL depicting gays as cute fragile objects to be treated with kids-gloves when in fact gays are…
I am with you on this. I think I am enjoying this because is a romantic story that has some believable elements.

We need more stories like this.

Having been in a relationship with a closeted guy, its all about what happens behind closed doors. In fact, my only complain about this episode is that the kiss at the bar felt like it should not have happened because Type shouldn't have allowed it.

So, I am not sure what your complain is about...

"They make it seem as if dating/romance between guys is "sex." " [No idea why you put sex in quotation mark]

So, it isn't?

'cuz he was gay, and the director from two moons said that he only wanted straight males to do the roles.
oh, you misunderstood me LOL I was talking about straight men falling in love with their straight FEMALE co-stars but I am sure there has been the occasional bisexual actor or gay actor that has fallen in love and dated a male co-star.

You know, when you say that TharnType story is gay porn, you're clearly missing the best thing about the series,…
Agreed. I feel a sort of personal connection to the story so in my case it doesn't have to be too deep but it deals with a topic I care about, so I watch!!! :)

I am not sure what you mean by "triggered". I am not mad or upset. If you look at my comments here, you will see I am not that kind of person.

You may be the only person I know that watches porn and pays attention to the "plot" but oh well. I digress.

While I did not attempt to compare QAF to this show in the above message, I have in the past compared the shows as both are pushing the envelope. QAF is not a sacred cow of a show by any means, it did some good things and it did some terrible things.

I do think that these two shows are comparable. Both shows push the envelope, as I stated above, and both shows center around issues which gay people deal with... When I think of a show like say, SOTUS, I don't think of anything there that is a global issue that I, as an adult gay man, have to deal with. But this show actually talks about important issues, including consent and childhood sexual abuse. So, I think both shows do have some parallels and this is unusual in Thai BL.

I am not going to become an apologetic defender of this show. If it does something wrong, I will point it out but for the most part it has been good.

Having said that, I think this show is being unfairly criticized and I am not 100% sure why. Is it because its popular and some people need to find something wrong with a show they don't like but is popular? Is it because it shows too much sex for the taste of some?

Let's be clear, this show is NOT pornographic. And I will reiterate what I said earlier, this show is TAME compared to QAF (which was my point which you missed). There is a lot of explicit and erotic scenes but they serve to advance the plot.

I am a huge fan of Lovesick. Lovesick did what it did without showing any skin. I can watch a show that features nothing more than a tame kiss and a lot of hand-holding porn. I don't watch this just because I want to see skin or erotic scenes. I am here for the plot and thus far, there is a plot and characters that have evolved and so I care very much about Tharn and Type and what happens to them. Even if that scene in Episode 4 is the last erotic scene, I will continue watching.

I KNOW TYPE WAS CUTE AND EMBARRASSED HAHA
Yes, I guess you are correct. Tharn is optimistic. Thought, I still want to think the show will give us an idealist/romantic Tharn... Imagine if while Type is a closeted homosexual, Tharn is a closeted romantic? :)

I am using a phone app called Thai Alphabet and a combination of a book called "Learn Thai with 100 words" (I think, I don't have it in front of me) and songs (Shake from Love Sick is great!).

The Thai script is hard because it seems that some letters have the same sound, so I have to research what sound they make and if its different from another sound that I learned. Another issue I am now having is that the fonts used in some of the shows we watch make the script pretty different so I have a hard time seeing the right letter.

Pronunciation of words in dialogue is also a pain because a lot of native speakers don't pronounce things exactly the same as they are written (Think Krap vs Kap/Hap, Thai people find the R too hard to prononuce I guess!!!)

My goal at the moment is to learn enough Thai script that I can read the name of the actors in credits etc but I am a long way from there (I know like 3 or 4 consonants now!).
