The only 3 I agree with are Jiro, Gackt, and Rain.. the rest are meh... but that is my opinion just as the list is your opinion :). Of course I'm not a 20-something anymore so I'm not much into idols in the first place.
whether here in the U.S. or there in Korea I tend to notice product placement even the little placements make me laugh a bit. I always questioned the reason why even the poorest characters had the newest phones. What's really funny though... I'm very poor and I own a Samsung! Okay, so it's an older flip phone model, but still I had to laugh at the hilarity of that. Since I picked out the phone myself, maybe I was subconsciously affected by all the Samsung placements in the dramas. O.o But at least my shoes are still generic.
I wasn't overly impressed with My Girlfriend is An Agent. I thought it was good, but not good enough for me to…
Actually I seldom give dramas and movies ratings higher than 8. I've seen so many movies it has to be super duper good for me to really think it's recommend worthy. :)
Actually it's probably a movie I would enjoy when I was 10 years younger. So maybe me in a different time would've liked it.
He's the main reason I continued watching Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Otherwise I would probably have put the show on my "dropped" list. I first saw him in Penny Pinchers - which I thought he was pretty cute in.
I wasn't overly impressed with My Girlfriend is An Agent. I thought it was good, but not good enough for me to recommend it to others. I haven't seen the other two movies yet...
Gotta love (and sometimes hate) some of the ridiculous and unrealistic moments in these dramas.

I do have moments when I want to watch a dark film... I added Crucible though am not sure how soon I'll watch it. I have seen a few films with unhappy endings. Even if I don't like a movie sometimes I just like the fact that I watched it just to say I've watched it. Gotta take the bad with the good sometimes. Of course there are some movies that were just so bad I kind of just ended up not finishing it.. or fast-forwarded through it a bit.

I saw Happily Ever After. I thought that was enjoyable. After seeing it I now want to try table-flipping. Sadly our coffee table is super solid wood and a bit heavy for that kind of thing.
Movies to recommend? hmm... I always wonder what to recommend. So here's a few: 'Love You 10000 Years' and 'Love Love You' are good. 'Laundry' is a touching movie.. a bit slow paced at times but I really enjoyed it. I liked 'How to Date an Otaku Girl' though I realize it may not be for everyone. 'High School Debut' is adorable I think. 'Finding Mr. Destiny' also. 'Castaway on the Moon' I really liked (I relate closely to the female lead). 'The Shoe Fairy' I thought was cute. And for a thrill I liked 'Midnight FM'. Just a very small selection of ones I liked. But if you see my completed list you can see all the movies I gave ratings of 7 and over.
I'm quickly running out of characters - so I end now

Not much going on here. I am watching a drama I just haven't put it on my currently watching list. It's the kdrama - Evasive Inquiry Agency. I have a short attention span so I rarely watch long dramas. It has to be really really good in order for me to stick with it. Lately I've been watching a lot of dramas that are less than 16 episodes. I've added Brother Beat to my PTW list. Ojakgyo Brothers.. I'm not sure how soon I'll see it. 58 episodes seems quite daunting to me. So I don't know.
Lately, though, I've been watching more movies (again- short attention span here).
I got so many dramas/movies on my PTW list (and adding more each week) that I wonder if I'll ever finish them all O.O
Even I have started dramas because of the actors. But no matter how hot the actor is if a drama doesn't do it for me I won't finish it. I have trudged through a few, but I have multiple dramas on hold and I say to myself "I'll try watching them later"... I wonder if I ever will. Thankfully my favorite actors/actresses have made more good dramas than bad ones. :).
I haven't watched any of the above shows. I will have to wait for pt 2 of this list before making any more comments about 2012. Very few dramas of last year look real interesting to me. Though I may watch them in the future. I did watch a few 2012 dramas and only 1 or 2 really made the watch worthwhile. Anyway, I already have a long list of past years' dramas to watch -- how can I keep up with current dramas? (O.O) OTL
Despite my lukewarm feelings for the 2 leads and the fact that it's not one of my top favorites... it is a cute drama. I'd definitely recommend it for someone wanting to watch a not too heavy Korean drama.
I actually have 700 Days of Battle on my next to watch list... It was indeed my plan to watch it this weekend (before reading this article). I saw Love Love You a while back and I really enjoyed it. :) Will have to check out the other 2 movies.
It really depends on who the character is. I like all types, but just because I may like a complex bitten in one drama doesn't mean I'll like that same type of character in the next drama. I may prefer the kid-at-heart or the silent lover. It depends on the story and the individual character. Plus the actor playing the part contributes greatly to how I view the specific male character.
Now I want to see Happily Ever After -- mainly to see Abe-san flip those tables (/°O°)/
Anyway they all look like good movies. I have seen Innocent Steps already though. That was a good one. I'll add the rest to my PTW list. :)
1. Female
2. From what I can tell.. yes.
3. It appears they would be targeted to various demographics. It happens in all countries. School and reverse harem dramas are usually geared toward teen girls. Melodramas toward adult women. Action toward men.
4. All male. I'd like to have 2 lists: 1 for male, 1 for female
5. I'm not concerned with physical looks when it comes to cast line-up. My biggest draw is the acting ability. I've seen dramas with beautiful people in it, but their acting was too awful for me to continue.
6. Generally no.
7. Yes. I usually prefer light themes whether romance, action, or whatever. Super heavy melodramas usually turn me off (I'm depressed enough as it is)
8. I don't know. Probably. Most of what I've watched contain romance.
(I wish I could write a longer comment. I had to cut all my answers. When I answer a question I feel the need to explain thoroughly.)
I love love loved Heavenly Forest! I haven't seen the other 2 movies. I may consider Twins Effect, but could not watch A Tale of Two Sisters (i started it). I don't do that kind of horror very well Strangely enough vampire movies don't bother me as much as most horror flicks
Skip Beat is in my top 10 list of favorite Taiwanese dramas. I haven't seen the anime yet. I started reading the manga, but I need to find it in print form because reading too much on screen bothers my eyes. So I really can't compare the 3 of them yet. Even though the drama was over the top and there was some overacting involved, overall I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for the article. I enjoyed the read :)
