I've added Cruel City to my PTW list. Right now I'm alternating between 3 dramas... so I think I'll wait before I add another one. To my currently watching. :) Love Marriage is really cute. I've added them to my favorite couples list. By the end of the drama I was grinning ear to ear. It's a nice refresher after watching something heavy and serious.

I'm kind of in the same boat you are. I do know how difficult it is to find a good drama after watching a number of good ones. MARS was awesome though wasn't it! Loved that one. Not sure what to recommend. I am going through your list now... Here's a few (both drama and movies): Love Marriage (light/cute romance! I was surprised when I actually enjoyed it from start to finish), Chilling Romance (one of my personal favorite movies), City Hall, Densha Otoko (saw this before I even got into drama), Evasive Inquiry Agency (no romance, quirky, fun characters - if Goonies were grownup and Korean-IMO), How to Use A Guy With Secret Tips (funny!), Rent-a-Cat (is quiet & sweet movie), Rurouni Kenshin (good action stuff - tho I still prefer the anime), Usagi Drop (adorable - quiet movie), and You're Beautiful..
I'd do more commentary on these recommends or add more, but only have limited space :(

I'm glad you liked Castaway on the Moon! :) I do know the song you're talking about. It's lovely. I'm doing okay.

The only show I've seen in this list is Mars. An Jun Can's portrayal of Tong Dao was flawless. I plan on watching Channel X soon so I'll keep an eye out for Lu Tin Wei. I really love shows/movies where an actor plays a messed up character so well you almost think the actor is actually messed up.

I haven't seen all his stuff yet. But each time I see him in something I love him just a little bit more.
I have noticed, so far, that in every part I've seen him in (whether main or supporting) he has great chemistry with whichever actress is playing opposite him. He's fantastic <3

great guide BTW...

I generally don't mind the age gap. I grew up watching Cary Grant movies and many of his leading ladies (in his later years) were young enough to be his daughters. So I'm used to seeing an older fella with a younger woman. And in recent years I've seen the older woman/younger man. So 2 of the only ways it bothers me is if the 2 people are on 2 different maturity levels. Or if one of them is a minor (i.e. jail bait).

On a side note I actually liked Personal Preference more than BOF (not a huge fan of the BOF/HYD thing). I haven't seen any of the other dramas. Well I started My GF is a Gumiho but got really annoyed with Shin Min Ah (not a fan of her either) so I stopped.

I keep meaning to watch I Am A King. I haven't watched any movies in a long while though. I have seen Love You 10000 Years. Personally I really enjoyed it. it was a cute and sweet love story. I've seen mixed reviews by viewers. But IMO I think it's wonderful.

Good comparison. I have lukewarm feelings for both Twilight and Boys Over Flowers. But then again.. I'm a middle age women with a more mature taste (usually).
Also, I can see multiple flaws in both stories. For one, both stories involve unhealthy relationships. So for me there is no winner.

Lee Min Ki is really fantastic. I hope to see him in more compelling roles. Every time I see him in a movie or drama I am amazed by his on-screen presence.

Lee Min Ki fans should try 'Evasive Inquiry Agency'. Its best K-show for me...
loved that show! I like to describe it as the Goonies being grown-up and Korean. It's definitely a must see. A group of misfits on a treasure hunt - a great relief after watching so many heavy-duty dramas.

I also love your choices. And your last statement - "make-up can do wonders". This is truth. I've seen shows/movies where beautiful people are made up to look plain or ugly and it's amazing - same thing in reverse - a plain person can be made to look beautiful with make-up. That's why it's called "glamour" (look up faerie lore).

Oh, If only they would make their own version of TBBT. I'd probably watch it.

Due to my short attention span I have found a preference for j-dramas- They're shorter and get straight to the point. They even have a better selection of quirky/odd dramas (which I love). But if I'm in the mood for a drama with steamy kiss scenes I'll turn to k-drama or tw-drama. But for overall variety and brevity - Japan is my country of choice.
But I do agree. Korea is the go to country for better kiss scenes in a drama. Taiwan too... actually

It's usually the "best friend" that is the double-faced girl in the j-dramas. It's always sad for the leads to be back-stabbed by someone they trusted.

Been torn on this drama for a while. I don't really mind the gender bending dramas, but when the one trying to…
Like most other gender-bender shows I'll just enjoy it for what it is.
I agree that she does seem to pull it off a bit better than Sulli or Park Shin Hye. So far, I think, no one can beat Ella Chen for pulling off the boy look.
