If there's nothing on the tv I bring my laptop to bed... And the experts say not to watch TV or be on the computer at least 1 hour before bedtime. tsk tsk on us :)

We have a tv in our room so that makes it even harder to avoid the TV when we should be sleeping D:

I know that impossible feeling! Frustrating! Sometimes if I know a movie based on a book is coming out I'll not read the book until I see the movie - especially if it's a newer book (hard to use this strategy for older books).
Likewise, if I watch the drama first and then the anime (or manga)later - I am even more impressed with the anime while still having affection for the drama.
I've watched just a few episodes of SN with the husband so far. He sometimes watches it after I've fallen asleep (on the weekends he stays up later than I do)...

YNSH - I saw the drama before the anime so that's probably why I didn't have a problem with it. I'm starting to learn not to compare anime with drama too much because I'll always be disappointed. Best to treat them as 2 separate things(like books and movies).
Yeah I discovered Supernatural just this year. Everyone else was talking about it and I'm like "well hey, I should give it a watch". Now I have my husband watching it too. ^.^

I haven't decided yet. I'll probably do 2 or 3 re-watches, but over the next few days I'll browse through the dramas and movies in related genres to see what i can find. It probably won't all be real spooky. Some of it may be on the light side. Like last year I watched 'Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge'. It wasn't a horror per se, but she did like horror and dressed up like a spook girl.. so I decided it counted. Anyway, I like to mix things up a bit. If I marathon real anxiety inducing scares too much I don't sleep well (lesson learned after my Supernatural marathon for 2 weeks straight)
I am still considering whether to watch Bloody Monday... and when. I've seen clips here and there and found it intriguing. So you'll have to tell me what you think. :)

well, it's really not a show that would benefit from worldwide distribution. Even in America it has a cult following - not widely favored you could say.
I'm taking a break from drama for a few days in order to prep me for my spook-themed October. In the mean time I'm watching some anime and playing games. I see you started Bloody Monday. Enjoying it so far?
man they are hyping up this drama like it no tomorrow. it betta be good or imma be mad. i probably wont be watching…
agreed. a lot of people will be disappointed if it doesn't live up to its hype O.O

MST3000 is an older TV show that aired in the US on Comedy Central and then on the Sci-fi (now SYFY) channel. They also made a movie. Not all the episodes were funny though. In fact it was kind of a cheesy show itself. :P But it was fun to watch old B-movies. I watched it when my kids were in grade school.
And yes I'll let you know what I think when I watch that movie.

Okay... I remember last year I watched a number of cheesy and campy horror and thriller movies for the month of October. I don't want to watch gore but I still like being scared. So the selection of dramas to watch in this category is limited. Anyway. The point is... I'll watch the campy and cheesy stuff so I can laugh at the absurdity of it all. Have you ever seen Mystery Science Theater 3000? They poke fun of low-budget and cheesy movies too. So it's a kind of hobby for me. A little bit of cheese is good (my motto). But yeah, I'll watch that movie and see whether it belongs in the 'good cheese' category.

that's too bad. I may or may not like it. But you know, I've seen shows/movies that were so ridiculous I laughed even when it was supposed to be serious. Even though I gave them low ratings I found them entertaining anyway. Sometimes even the bad ones have some entertainment value :).

That's fine. I actually have Confession of Murder on my PTW list... it'll probably be the next movie I watch. I just haven't been up for a movie lately. So I'm not sure how soon I'll get around to watching it.

I was bored with the Castaway movie too. It's at all like that movie, because the 2 main characters eventually form a sort of correspondence and friendship with each other. You should see the trailer to get an idea of it mydramalist.com/korean-movie/1009/castaway-on-the-moon

Well she isn't the main main character, but she portrayed the character quite realistically. Kim Jung yeon plays her part (she is also a supporting character in 'My Name is Kim Sam Soon').
I highly recommend the movie. It's about a guy who ends up stranded on an island in the middle of the Han river in the heart of Seoul. There's nothing like being a castaway in the middle of a big city O.O

The first time I saw Fredric March was in a movie called "The Best Years of Our Lives" - about post-WWII life for soldiers and their families. :) He's really awesome.
No worries. 20 years ago I would have had trouble talking about it, but it's all good now. I have my up and down days. Anyway, sometimes if I watch a drama or movie about someone with a type of anxiety disorder I play close attention to see how well they did. Have you seen "Castaway on the Moon"? The girl in that movie is pretty much what I had about 10 years ago (minus the hoarding issue). At least now I can get out of the apartment okay.
I'm not a big fan of the whole Hana Yori Dango franchise myself (I still have yet to finish Meteor Garden), but I don't think it's unfair to judge the cast too harshly. I'll give it a shot as an unbiased spectator. Like many others have said - keep an open mind. As a reader I have to do the same thing when books are made into movies.
My advice (as an older viewer): Lighten up! ^.^

After watching the many adaptations of Phantom of the Opera I finally read the book. It's one of my favorites now. It's surprisingly an easy read. At least I thought so (especially after the heavy social commentary of Les Mis).
And Yes, Fredric March is Valjean. He was an excellent actor. One of my favorites of that era ^.^
I don't mind you asking. I don't do well in crowds or in public actually. I have a touch of agoraphobia. It used to be worse so you could say I'm getting better. maybe one day I'll again be able to do it.

For me it depends on the musical. I like those like West Side Story and My Fair Lady.. etc... because there's lots of dialogue in between the musical numbers. I do like the music from the musicals. And I even like some opera songs. But that's okay - I like it when people have different tastes (would be boring if we all liked the same things!). For me I'd rather read Phantom of the Opera (loved it!). Les Miserables the book was quite a long read, but at least I felt I accomplished something by the time I was done with it. Still my favorite non-music version of the story is the one from the 1930s starring Fredric March. I didn't hate Phantom. I actually liked it.. just not enough to be crazy about it.
I'm not a big fan of sports either. I imagine seeing a game live would be more entertaining than watching at home, but that's impossible for me... for who knows how long.

I've seen trailers and clips for Moulin Rouge. But I just haven't been motivated to watch it. I'm really not a fan of musicals. Even when watching Bollywood movies I fast forward through the song & dance scenes. There are very few musicals I like. I still haven't seen Les Miserables the musical. Just sitting through 2 hours of music ... I can't do it. I barely made it through Phantom of the Opera. I think my problem with them is there too much singing and not enough dialogue.
I think I've heard of Center Stage, but I don't know.. I'll have to find a trailer on Youtube and see if it's what I'm thinking of.

Well I only watched it twice D:. But I could watch it again. I think there's not enough people who've seen it or liked it. I was pleasantly surprised to see you mention the movie. ^.^ I'm not even into ballroom dance or stuff like that, but the movie was really well done and the chemistry between the 2 main actors was fantastic.
