I know what you mean. Sometimes I think 'oh I'll watch this next!' but by the time I get to that point I'm sometimes not in the mood to watch that style of drama. Oh do I really want to watch a detective show now? I'm really in the mood for romance... or comedy (or whatever mood I'm in). It's really tough planning ahead.

Opinion will be shared, and I'll likewise expect the same from you :)

I added Love Shuffle to my list before I knew of Tamaki Hiroshi and Matsuda Shota, but since discovering them both it's starting to get prioritized on my list. I did see Meitantei no Okite and I really enjoyed it. A different sort of detective show for sure. I started Don Quixote and am returning to it after Halloween. I only watched one episode so I can't judge it right now. Just added Cheerful Gang to my PTW list. That looks interesting.

I'm still getting to know the idol actors and stuff. It took me forever to learn that Kimura Takuya was a member of SMAP and then when I saw him with the rest of the group I was like.. "well hey! I've seen that guy in a drama before". But I only know Kimura. And yes, I only heard of KAT-TUN because of the Kazuya dramas I saw. Same reason I found out about Arashi -- watching MatsuJun and the other fellas in dramas. A couple of other bands I learned about by checking out info on actors/idols in dramas I've seen. I'm learning more about Asian actors than I am about American ones. Ha-Ha.

From the clips I've seen of Liar Game and Love Shuffle I imagine I'll fall for the serious Matsuda too. :)

Liar Game is slowly approaching the top of my PTW list.

I'd like to see more articles like this. It's interesting to know the behind-the-scene stuff -- why a drama is delayed, cut short, etc...
Good job algelic!

I'm not big into the Arashi songs either. I just happened to come across them in all the dramas I've seen them in. It was all an accident really. I didn't know who they were when I first started watching j-dramas. After almost a year I discovered they all belonged in a group. I was like "oh! well that's interesting!". I'm still figuring out which other various actors belong to which bands - SMAP, KAT-TUN, etc...

When I watched HYD I really didn't notice Matsuda Shota. He was sort of a background character. But after watching a couple of other dramas he's been in I've become fond of him. I've yet to see him in a serious drama though. I've only seen him play the awkward but adorable character.
I haven't been up to watching serious dramas lately. Been too depressed for that. I've been needing things to get me excited - comedy or thriller. Yep, yep, yep.

btw - I actually really liked Kaibutsu-kun. Silly and a bit weird -> yes. But it's really quite heartwarming and fun. MatsuJun even has a guest appearance near the end(not an actual spoiler since he's listed in the cast credits).

I actually wanted to watch AGD for the bromance more than the romance. Guy friends are more fun to watch than girlfriends I think. Probably cause they're more laid back than the girls. When I was in high school, for example, it was easier for me to just hang out and be myself around my guy friends. Even though I loved my girl friends I felt like I had to do more to impress than I did with the guys. So I do like bromance stories.

I only know the Arashi guys cause I've seen a number of their dramas. I really don't know their songs too well, except for the ones in the OSTs.

Liar Game! I still have to watch that. I really like Matsuda Shota, but I keep putting it off cause I feel I'd have to commit myself to watching the specials and movies too. I'm not ready for that yet. I'm still needing to watch the SPEC specials and movie. Waah!

Well, it does seem that the characters in dramaland either visit or study abroad in Paris, New York, and occasionally England or Canada. I love the movies and dramas when they visit other countries. Like in 'Finding Mr Destiny' she visited India.

Thanks for the article. It was fun and interesting to read :)

Your article was really cool! Frankly, I'm from France and I never understood all the buzz about Paris, the first…
people tend to romanticize foreign big cities. If I were to tour Europe I'd want to visit the small hamlets and villages rather than the big towns. That would be where you'd the best historical landmarks I imagine.

MatsuJun and all the other Arashi boys are really adorable in the Pika movies. I like seeing Nino act as the leader of their little group. Aiba seems to be the central character though. And I got a kick out of Sakurai Sho playing the Yankee biker :D.
I haven't watched The Devil yet. I don't know if I'm ready for the seriousness I'll get into if I start it. Maou was nearly melo enough for me and it wasn't even that long. But knowing Korean dramas I'm kind of hesitant, though I know it will probably be very good. To watch or not to watch -- it's still on my PTW.

How are you liking Gentlemen's Dignity?

MatsuJun is really adorable in the Pika*nchi movies ^.^ His character's perpetual grin made me smile every time I saw him. I really liked Maou. It seemed too short though :( .
Yeah, it took me a while to start watching Kaibutsu-kun for the same reason. It just looked a bit weird and typical of Japanese monster shows (I'm still recovering from my daughter's Power Rangers days). But it's actually a fun show. Very silly. Kaibutsu does have a lot of life lessons to be learned. Actually this is the first drama where I watched Ohno play a character that wasn't the quiet type. It's quite fun. Of course, it's not for everyone. I tend to like weirdness and silliness (as long as it's not too cheesy).

Even hanging out with a small group of friends is great :)

In the knitting world, the bathmat I'm doing is very simple.

After xxxHolic I needed something light. You know what I mean. So I'm watching Kaibutsu-kun ... it's a really silly monster drama starring Ohno Satoshi. I guess when it aired it was part of an Arashi special? or they made the special for the drama. I don't know. Anyway, per usual he is really adorable in this drama (even though his character starts out spoiled and selfish). I adored him in Pika*nchi Life Is Hard Dakedo Happy. even though that movie was a bit silly his character was just really cute.

You have fun and enjoy life. Music is a fantastic pastime. So is being with friends! :)

Well, knitting isn't as hard as I thought. I'm still a beginner tho'. Same with embroidery. One day I hope to be able to be good enough to actually give stuff I make as gifts... That's pretty awesome your friend can do such creative things! I envy her too!

Right now I'm making a plain bathmat. Ours is getting all raggedy. I found a knitting pattern for a simple bath rug and thought "why not?". So that's what I'm doing. It's a nice change from just doing scarves.

I finished xxxHolic. Better than I expected. If you haven't seen the anime yet, please watch the drama 1st. That way you'll love the anime that much more. I did like the drama. It's just dark though - and a bit gloomy. At least in the anime we get a little comic relief

You're not lame. Just a different person with different interests. I'm not really a hardcore gamer. So I never describe my self as such. I like playing games but not all the time. My interest in games is pretty casual. I only ever buy the newest game consoles in order to get the latest Zelda game (if/when I can afford it).

What are your hobbies? Do you do crafts? collect things? Anything besides anime, drama, reading? I just learned to knit earlier this year. And I am an on again/off again cross-stitcher/embroiderer.

On the computer I mostly play hidden object, time management, and puzzle games. Then I also play some games on facebook. I recently downloaded a few games from bigfishgames.com so I've been enjoying myself with those. But since they're 1 hour trials I get a bit disappointed 'cause I can't afford to buy every single game I like. Ah well. Thank goodness for free game sites like pogo and others. I like rpg games, but I rarely play MMO games because, honestly, I'm a lone wolf... both online and offline. When I play games I like to play by myself. And MMO games - well there are just too many other players and I don't like the idea of having to team up with people. I tried one once and people kept trying to chat with my character. So I stopped. So anyway, I'm a casual gamer on the computer and also a video console gamer (but mostly Legend of Zelda games).

Well, this weekend I haven't watched anything really. I got occupied with some casual pc games. I'll start back watching on Monday I think.

Awesome! I still need to watch Reply 1997. So many people like it. I've seen clips and have the feeling I may like it as well. I've already added it to my PTW list.

I actually have an account at myanimelist. But I haven't done much with it either. I have less than 10 on the list. I also have been too lazy to add my animes there. But it's there when I get up to doing so. If you ever create an account there my user name is the same there as for here. Oh, and I guess you can also add mangas to your list as well as anime.

I know what you mean. I have been slowly trying to watch anime again but, of course, drama cuts into my watch time :) But being as anime shows are generally shorter in length I have managed to get a bit of a start in between drama series.
