Well, INR started out promising, but despite that the writers seemed unable to pull it off without putting in a few typical kdrama cliches. But I'm so close to the end I'm going to make myself finish it. It's been rather tedious for me to tell the truth. But a lot of people seem to like it. You may think differently. I'm just really annoyed by the main female. I like her friends' stories better to tell the truth.

I have 2 k-dramas I still need to finish: Soulmate and I Need Romance. Then I also started the Taiwanese drama Black & White a while back I need to get back to watching that one. I'm not sure which one I want to work on first. I only have a few episodes left of both the kdramas. So I may watch those. Probably Soulmate since each episode is only 1/2 hour long. That would be easier to finish I think. Then I'll get the other one over with. I've been working on the Romance one for a few months now.

Well I managed a couple more hours before I had to turn in. I think this may take a couple of days to get back on track.
Well, the movies were pretty much on the average side. I should have saved all the good movies and dramas for the last half of October. But of course I had to watch the good stuff first. It was like having dessert before the meal. Oh well. I'll be going back to regular dramas for now. I need to finish the dramas I put on hold for the last few weeks.

Well, the 2nd movie is a continuation of the first movie. They don't tell the complete Light story in the first movie. So I had to watch the 2nd one to finish the story.
Anyway, I'm tired too. But I've been up for 16 hours now. But if I go to sleep now I'll be awake at midnight. I can't have that.

ah here's a montage of clips from Death Note featuring L: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwSYiP5mhsA (spanish subs - which I don't understand :P). I just wish they made his hair more tousled like in the anime, but he still pulls off that pasty look fairly well. Anyway, I watched the 2 Death Note movies but haven't got the heart to watch the 3rd one.

I gave the live action Death Note a lower rating than the anime too. It cannot beat the anime. But despite that I liked it. Though, I wasn't happy with the person who played Light. But he did alright.
With Netflix you can set up movies you want to watch in a queue. So they don't send you something unless you want it. oh, and you pay by month. So you can watch as many movies and tv shows online as you want for a set price. They also have different options for people who want DVDs delivered to their home instead. Plus online you don't have to just watch the movies in your queue. You can watch whatever pleases you. So unlimited streaming movies for $8 a month is not a bad deal.
Does continental Europe have anything like that? I guess Netflix is only available in North & South America, UK, and Scandinavia. I'm not familiar with Int'l streaming websites.

I know what you mean. I have to do the same thing when I watch a live action based on a manga or anime -- especially with one I've already seen or read before.

yeah, Death Note is different than the anime (I haven't read the manga), but I still liked it. I mean it was the same basic story line, just different in its execution. Kenichi's portrayal of L was fantastic. L is my favorite character so I was worried about the actor who would play his part (I didn't know who he was at the time I saw it). He did a beautiful job and he is my favorite character in the movie too. Just expect some differences -- as usual for anime to live action adaptations.
Well MatsuJun is distracting... plus he was the main guy. So... I totally understand :)
At least you got to see Gantz.. even if it was dubbed. I've looked everywhere for it. I may have to renew my Netflix DVD plan so I can rent it through them. I only have the streaming plan right now and they don't have it available for streaming. :(

Have you seen Death Note live action? Matsuyama Kenichi plays L. Anyway, his dorky side can be seen in Detroit Metal City.
Since Gokusen is one of the first jdramas I saw I don't remember him in that either. I'd have to go back and rewatch a few scenes so I can see if I can find all the actors that are in it. I haven't seen Nana yet, and I really want to watch Gantz. But all I can find is the 2nd movie. It's frustrating. >.<

Yes Matsuda Shota is fun to watch. My favorite actors are generally those that can fantastically do both serious and goofy or off-beat roles.
I also like Matsuyama Kenichi for that same reason. He does excellent in his serious roles, but then he can turn around and play the off-beat or eccentric character splendidly.
's a plus if the actor is good-looking too. Nothing like a beautiful man who can be both serious and goofy <3
J-drama marathons seem to be easier to accomplish than k-dramas (for me at least). Probably because there are fewer episodes and each of the episodes are generally shorter. So you can watch 2-3 jdrama series in the same time that you would finish one kdrama series. So if you attempt a Matsuda Shota marathon this weekend - have fun with it!
Loved Vampire Prosecutor 1&2 - I'm looking forward to the 3rd season.
Master's Sun was just splendid! Perfect blend of horror, comedy, and romance. :)
Coma and Soul.. I haven't watched those yet. Not sure if I'll get to them or not. At least not this year. My horror watching for this year will end when October ends. ^.^.

Matsuda Shota can be pretty adorable ^.^
In Meitantei no Okite he's cute.. almost like a little boy. Plus his clothes that don't fit right also make him adorable. I don't know if you looked up clips from the show or not but here's an example of a "behind-the-scenes" meeting the 3 detectives have. Oh and the fish eye lens effect isn't typical. It was just a random thing they did.

Yeah, After watching a couple of her movies I looked her up on the internet and learned a thing or two. I've said before, I find myself more curious about Asian celebrities than I am about those in my own country. Funny.
I've made the mistake of watching scary movies at night many times. I never learn. I do try to watch at least a few hours before bedtime though. So if I do watch at night it has to be early enough to give me time to chill out before sleepy time. Or... I have to watch either a comedy or a cartoon afterwards to soothe my brain a bit. :)

Yeah, I like Uhm Jung Hwa myself. I can see why she's a popular actress in Korea. I really enjoyed the movie. I'm just glad I watched it during the day. if I watched it at night I don't know if I'd be able to sleep (?_?). I try not to watch thrillers before bedtime ...

she was actually the only ghost... well the only other permanent spirit was actually the grim reaper. She was finally convinced by the main guy to be a vengeful ghost - she only got after him for shooting an owl saying he should hurt innocent creature. Anyway, she eventually succeeded in her adventure in vengeance. LOL.
Anyway, I'm off to watch a thriller called Bestseller. In the trailer it looks like there's some scary bits so I'll go ahead and give it a go. Average rating here on MDL is 7 so I figure it mustn't be too bad in general. Plus the comments from other users make it look promising.

That ghost movie was okay. It was good for giving me a few chuckles, but otherwise nothing spectacular about it. Basically the humans where scarier than the ghost. But she was a sweet ghost that tried her hardest to be scary.

Any holiday is a good thing. An excuse to either take it easy and relax or to have a party.
I really loved Orthros no Inu. I loved the study of what is good and what is evil and at what point does something good become evil and vice versa. I like dramas that make you think. Not that it's a difficult drama to watch. It's just that serious philosophical and theological issues popped into my head as I was watching.
I ended up watching a movie that wasn't on my list. I just came across it on Netflix and watched it because it had a ghost in it. It's actually a comedy... everybody's the bad guy but it's a situation where you root for one bad guy in particular(who is the protagonist of course).

Friday is a holiday this week for you. Awesome! Is it All Saints day? We have it on our calendar, but we don't get a short week for it. We don't even get Halloween off.
Anyway, I'm going to spend the next few days just watching movies. Though I'm not sure what I'm watching next yet. I have quite the list, but can't make up my mind. Dilemma!! :D

no worries. I just didn't realize it was that time of year already. I've always had sleeping problems so sometimes being tired is par for the course. And, yes, watching dramas does help me relax sometimes, but other times it just makes me more awake. it all depends on how good or exciting the drama gets. :)

We don't set our clocks back until next week. So you had me confused a bit at first when you mentioned time change. I believe you're about 8 hours ahead of me. ... believe it or not I'm super tired right now.. so I'm not up to calculating exact time zone stuff right now. I just remember a while back figuring out what different time zones where for certain countries and am working on memory here. Anyway.... to sum it all up. It's still Sunday here. You'll reach Monday before i do :)
