Yeah, well growing up with vinyl 45s I am quite accustomed to listening to the B-side at least once.
But I'm really glad I found that little obscure song of theirs. :D

Spotify is a free streaming program - sort of a customized radio thingy - https://www.spotify.com/de/

Crying Shame is the B-track on the Supermassive Black Hole single. I found it while using Spotify, fell in love with it, and added it as one of my favorites.

we still haven't watched it. :P I wanted to watch it today, but he's got work this afternoon so maybe this evening we'll watch it if I'm not too sleepy.

So in the meantime I'm listening to Muse. Oh, and this reminds me of your question when we first started chatting. My Muse favorites. After careful consideration here are my top 5 (in no particular order): Explorers, Madness, Time is Running Out, Starlight, Resistance, Crying Shame. ... Even those 5 were difficult to pick. I hate picking favorites.

I lover Hear Me. I've seen it twice already and could really watch it again. Definitely one of my faves.
I'll have to look into the other selections - they look cute :)

It is fascinating though, how a lot of mothers in Dramaland are one of the three you mention: cold, controlling, or absent.

Like in most j-dramas, there are lessons to be learned with these kinds of adversities. It doesn't just have to be about the abandoned child. It could be any past trauma. How the character deals with such adversity is the important thing. Even though dramas are there for entertainment, Japan has a way of making these dramas into a series of fables or parables. i.e. "This happens in life... here's what you can learn from it".

Back on-topic here: Being a mother myself, I could never understand how a mother could ever leave her child for selfish reasons. If it's done out of love then that's different. but still I wonder about the selfish mothers...

Yeah, I finally found Gantz. Anyway, I don't know if I'll have the patience to wait until later this week to watch.
But I'll do my best to wait until he's ready.

Anyway, I look forward to it. Then I can watch the second Gantz movie too. Eventually I may watch the anime and/or read the manga too. I decided at this point, if I haven't watched an anime or read a manga version of a drama/movie then it's best to watch the live-action first so I'll be less disappointed with its outcome.

He likes the dramas, but as soon as he starts watching anything he falls asleep. Right now he's falling asleep to a show of his choosing. We'll be watching an action movie and he falls asleep. He works hard and doesn't get enough sleep. I feel bad for him. I think the only dramas I've been able to have him watch with me successfully are both seasons of Vampire Prosecutor. I know he'd like the drama I'm watching now. He likes police action shows, but he just doesn't have the time to watch. I just barely got him going with Supernatural. So I'll accept that.
Oh, I'm renting an actual DVD. I managed to get my hands on Gantz. So he and I will watch that either tomorrow or Thursday. He saw the trailer and he's been wanting to watch it too.

That's okay, I haven't seen all the episodes of the Monty show yet either. So we're the same in that respect.

I want to start another drama episode, but my husband will be home from work soon. *sigh* Guess that will have to be on hold until he takes his afternoon nap.

Well, If an actor is under 25 years old I feel a bit pervy if I find them too hot for words. But if they're in their late 20s then that means I'm not old enough to be their mom so then that's okay :) I have this weird way of thinking sometimes. O.o

I call my anti-depressant/anti-anxiety prescription years my zombie years. So much sedation left me feeling like a drone and in a bit of a fog. I still have a prescription but it's one I take as needed. My one month supply lasts me for about a year - I try not to use the Xanax as a crutch.

Monty Python's Flying Circus is a classic - one of the best sketch comedy shows ever, I think. Actually I've seen only a couple of the movies. So we're kind of opposite in this regard. You've seen the movies and I've seen the show :D

If the guys are really young I just call them my babies. I have an unofficial list of adopted celebs (including the girls too). Fangirling is fun. I went through a period of 10 or so years when I was in zombie-land (meds!). So I'm enjoying those lost years now.

I have the Miranda DVDs on my wish list. I think it's officially my favorite British comedy now. I've been watching British comedies for a long time. And of course my first Brit-Com was Monty Python's Flying Circus. My Brit-com infatuation just spiraled from there.

I'm glad I'm not crazy then. Though sometimes I feel a bit weird fangirling over some of these stars at my age. But I guess women my age are better at keeping things in than younger girls. :D

Black Books is the type of comedy that makes you feel better about your own life. There's only 18 episodes so it's a pretty short watch.

One of many awesome things about Japan is their weird commercials. They're entertaining. :)

Have you seen the British comedy "Black Books"?. There's an episode where the character Fran gets turned on immensely by a guy's voice. Anyway, that's nearly how I feel when listening to Matsuda Shota's voice. <3 (is that weird or what?).

Anyway... I need to go and finish up some of my 'in progress' dramas.

I loved the backstage room too. And he's so adorable in his too small clothes. They make him look more boyish and really fit his character. I almost want to see MnO again.

I had to get a Matsuda Shota fix so I tried finding clips on youtube and I came across some CMs that he did for a company called Gatsby. I had fun watching him in those bits. Got my "Shota fix" for the day anyway :) In addition to the eye-candy factor, I really love listening to his voice. Here's a link to get you started (if you wanna see): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FZyEl_WzD8 . There's also a series of Softbank CMs that he's in
justineann Nov 4, 2013
I've just seen him in a couple of these shows/movies featured here. You didn't include his role in Love Marriage. I liked him in that drama too.

Thanks for this stalker guide. We need more like these with under-rated actors and actresses :)

Nodame is a type of character that's difficult to pull off successfully. I think if it was any other actress it wouldn't be the same.

I finally finished INR ... took me long enough. The first half of the drama wasn't bad. But towards the end I felt myself dragging my feet just to watch it. You know those shows where you get to the last few episodes and you have to practically force yourself to watch just to get it over with? Yeah.. that's how it was. But I FINALLY finished it! Whew! relief at last!

Matsuda Shota in Meitantei no Okite is adorable. Even though the show isn't perfect, his character makes it worth the watch.

1 drama and 2 movies in a weekend -- You accomplished quite the feat!

*smiling and be happy* is all we can do at times (^.^)
KDramaQueen91 Nov 4, 2013
I do plan on watching it. But I'm not anxious enough to watch it now. I can wait til the hype dies down (like I've done with other popular dramas). I just don't like following the crowd and watching a drama just because everyone else is doing it. So it's on my mental PTW list (Have yet to add it to my MDL PTW list).. but for now I'll wait and continue watching the shows I've already planned to watch months ago (I'm so far behind!). I'm a tepid fan of both Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye. So I'm patient when it comes to watching this particular drama.

Thanks for the informative and spoiler-free article :)

There's a subtle line between adorable and annoying. Some characters are cute naturally (Nodame for example)and I like that. But if the cuteness is artificial aegyo-ish. then, well, you know.

I have a ton of images of my fav actors saved on my computer... I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them though. Just look at them and smile I guess. ^.^

I know! I get annoyed by the 'aegyo' types too. I prefer female characters that aren't afraid to be themselves and don't even try the "cutesy" attitude.

I like the articles where they point out the fun things we like about kdramas but I also like the things we love to hate. Now they need one about the things we hate... period. We don't love to hate these things.. they're just annoying. Anyway, maybe someone will browse your or my profile and see this little conversation and write an article.

Yeah, I went through a Matusda Shota picture hunt phase too. I still occasionally do an image search of him.

I really liked Chilling Romance. I thought Seducing Mr. Perfect was fair. I'll have to watch Late Autumn though. It looks interesting. :) Thanks for the picks :)

I know, me too. I think, when I watch shows with an annoying female lead, what are the writers even thinking? I'm just thinking that would be a good idea for an MDL article. All the annoying female leads. I'm just not up to the task :P. Someone else can think of it and do it themselves.
