Well these two episodes were a bit more on the sadder side.... still processing emotions.
But I think my main takeaway is, why are so many women eager to throw their lives away because a selfish man acted without thinking of the consequences??? Like cmon I was really disappointed in Yan Ji (but I get she might have had a breakdown and had no support so I do get that). I appreciated CSS's rationality when she was trying to talk to Wang Jin - yes Peng Kun might have been a good husband but he is still a traitor...
And I can see having witnessed what played out with Lou Ben, and everything CSS discovered recently about the Huo family her brain is spinning. Even if you think you know someone, you might not know them at all. I think its pretty clear LBY has some other agenda's going on (similar to other ambitious men in this show and there is a lot he hasn't shared with her) and she's picking up that he might completely blindside her.
The scene with the Empress at the end (chefs kiss). And Qiqi is really one of my favourite people on this show, so I was very happy for her.
Agreed, especially after I watched the episode for the second time I found that jarring. Like how did he end up with Ben, and it would have been nice for us to see him at least look a bit for CSS.
Totally random thought while watching the episodes today, if LBY and CSS gets their happily ever after and have kids, their kids are going to be terrifyingly smart and competent.
That is one lethal genetic combination in terms of looks, intelligence and athletic ability.
I pretty much started off crying these episodes watching the interactions between the Consort and the Empress <3. Man I love these two so much and the Empress was so brave!!!
What more can I say? As usual I loved the episodes, I didn't expect I'd laugh now that things took a serious turn but the brilliant writers and actors embedded humour into the story and I was laughing and crying lol.
The interactions between LBY and CSS made me MELT. There is no other words for it. And I'm really sorry CSS but hearing about you having to sneak into the city in a poop bucket made me LOL even though that sounds really rough.
Your english is pretty good! Practising on forums like this should also help :). I am trying to learn French right now so I can relate lol. The different grammatical systems make it so hard. I hope to learn mandarin someday but that is going to be a pretty difficult for me 😭
Does anyone have any recommendations for variety shows to watch that have full episodes with english subs?
Hey I've noticed on YouTube Happy Camp, Go Fridge, and Keep Running all has english subs.
I checked them out during the drought when waiting for new episodes, ZLS has a really funny Go Fridge episode, and Wu Lei has been in pretty much all.... lmao to my surprise (although I guess I shouldn't be surprised)
Well, I was a passerby to the mentioned drama as well but unlike here, I saw some people there (in part1) directly…
Lol I regret posting a comment here.
But anyway if there is comments like that about your favourite actor in other spaces then that is horrible. I'm sorry you had to see things like that, I'm sure we can all learn to co-support each other. I am not familiar with XZ, as I said I am new to Chinese dramas. I think he's very attractive and I look forward checking out his work.

Wu Lei's fight scenes were AMAZING.
