i personally would've liked to see more of xu kai (aka my baby li xuan) and wu jia yi but 60 episodes is still too much for me. i think if this drama had been 32-36 episodes so that we could've gotten more character development and more focus on li xuan's story (instead of wasting screen time on yun shan and xiao feng ming cough cough), it would have left a better impression on more people.

it's the post-production editing from 60 to 28 episodes that made this drama feel very choppy tbh

the drama itself is pretty different from the novel from what i've heard. there are new characters in the drama. i didn't read the novel but i've heard that the drama characters are more endearing

same. i'm still questioning whether it's actually a HE. i like that they visited tian shu grandpa again but i don't like that they're kinda stuck in there, away from the real world and their friends

wu jia yi did all the dance scenes herself!! also, the reason why her saintess mark didn't show when she fell into the lake is because she had cut it off earlier in the drama. her ears also do not show up unless viewed in that special mirror.

yeah unfortunately they cut out more than half the scenes that the actors and crew spent so much time filming.

no one knows the exact reason why but i would assume it’s because with a smaller episode count (especially since it is a web drama) it is easier to get a time slot for broadcast. also dramas with longer ep count tend to drag so i was actually kinda happy with 28 episodes until i realized how badly the post-production is. i demand more focus on li xuan’s story and how li xuan and su you lian reunite the human and kunwu clan!!

yeah no problem. i didn't really let this fact bother me at first (besides feeling bad that the actors and production crew filmed so much only for it to be cut) but now that the plot seems to be all over the place and my baby li xuan isn't getting his story told (i feel like the focus wasn't even on him for the longest time), i'm really annoyed at the post-production crew with their editing smh

unfortunately yes as they are only releasing one episode a week. i recommend waiting to watch this (this is coming from someone who has been waiting each week for one episode since june xD)

definitely do!! there's not too much comedy, at least not of he in-your-face variety. it's actually a really touching story :)

check out dance of the sky empire with wu jiayi (the FL here as well) and xu kai!! it's a xianxia drama (historical-ish with super powers)

exactly!! i'm just so annoyed that the production team decided to cut down the episode count by so much and then decided to add all of those not-so-relevant scenes instead of focusing on li xuan's story (and you lian's as well), which is what the whole drama is about.

i'm also sad about all the content that we're missing out on now. also so sad that the cast filmed so many scenes only for them to be cut out (i wish we had access to these scenes). 60 episodes seems to be too much imo but 28 is too little now that the plot hasn't really advanced until this week's episodes.
