I'm the opposite and watch without any skipping, so i can't relate. You might be right about editing problem,…
Yes, my quip isn't the length but rather mostly placement of the scenes. The summary also spoils events that happen far into the series. It really jumbles up all that one expects from it.

That's why I do not want to edit this series to make it interesting for myself, as it will require too much time.

Legends as you correctly pointed out has a lot of filler and I cut it down just for the curiosity of knowing how long will it be afterwards. Nowadays I only keep the romance cut, some 1h 30m haha.

Errr... cant relate to you here about editing being atrocious...If you call this is bad(to me it isn't) wait till…
Well its your opinion, and I do not have intention of getting people to relate. I am expressing my opinion, just like you. I have already spent so much time on it, and what's the point leaving it at E48 haha

I have, and I edited the whole series again for myself.

But this one is badly edited because many of the scenes if aligned in a different point in the episode could be made interesting and not something I would skip. I have skipped well over half the drama.

The last 7 or so episodes have almost no filler but it so close to the end and seems that they squeezed all the life out of the series just to make the end arc the greatest thing. The strive towards it be damned.

The drama continues to be extremely addicting but editing and scene selection is still atrocious. they don't know what the audience wants to see so we have to help ourselves by skipping all the trash. They even dare to chop crucial scenes to insert trash in between!

Fortunately there is a fast forward button or I would have gone completely mad by now.

Overall I like the drama with a whole lot of fast forwarding. And frankly you don't lose much even with the excess skimming, if you have had your fun with Xianxia before.

Everything about it is good, above average. CGI is on a level which I had thought inconceivable for Chinese dramas.

Still, I don't really feel very attached with the story line. Mostly because I don't find the FL pretty in comparison to the ML. The ML is frankly leagues ahead of her. In my opinion, she would have fit better as the magical beast or the disciple rather than the lead.

Other quips that I have concern the so called gods, who are essentially more powerful versions of immortal cultivators. They are so powerless they cannot even know an enemy presence in their backyard, how can they govern their realms which are ways off.

It is an ok show, and keeps you captivated in short strokes from the start. It is very slow paced, I simply do not have patience for. Perhaps if it had been 32 or more episodes long, I would have liked it but the impending end with nearly zero progress every episode, really tones down the experience.

The main couple simply cannot keep the show interesting. Hye Ri and Jang Ki are doing similar personalities they have done many times and are extremely comfortable with the scenario. This brings on a certain boring angle to the show. At least Hye Ri should branch out already, enough with the dorky, sassy roles.

The support cast is better, though only in the second half they start to give some energy to the show.

By E22 the drama has a overall good storyline.

The CG is completely unnecessary and confusing. I cannot make heads or tails of the characters nor decipher which belongs to whom. The game being explored is not some MMORPG that I would care about the CG overtime, as there is no story or continuity.

I do not agree that all of them are good looking. Aside from the two teams, rarely anyone is good looking. The audience are especially ugly, even the reporters are ugly. Most of the players of other teams are also ugly. Frankly everyone is overly ugly other than the main and some support cast. It is just another way of glorifying the beauty aspect as is natural in Chinese dramas.

The best part is after all the couple. Even the support cast is fun.

They should have done a modern version
Well. a full cycle is indeed a good way to end this series at a good note.

Yes, that should have been so. This repeated story recycling is another aspect that I have come to dislike.

The first episodes are unbearably stupid. The FL is a complete dork this time around, does not act at all as if she misses her kid and has no sense of actually knowing the world and then trying to change it. She resembles a kid playing in a park without a care in the world.

I think they thought they would replicate some of the liveliness of S1 but frankly, this being her 6th timeline, the stupidity has no plausible reason.

On the other hand the empress is such a formidable personality, I always look forward for her scenes.

This would've been a 10 for me if she wasn't a writer even though that was the first scene seeing it at the end…
Fortunately I had downloaded the series, and after seeing the comments here. I removed both scenes first and then watched the show, hahaha

Benefits of having some skills with video editing.

Well for this series it was an extremely easy thing to exclude. I simply cut out the parts from first and last episodes. This way I never got to experience them! Fortunately I had not seen the end that I did this so it was doubly effective...

I do this to any odd one out couples I come to love in dramas. However insignificant the couple screen time had been, I combine them so I can watch them in my spare time, whenever I want, without the trash.

It is so odd of a sequel. It should have been intimated that it is essentially a remake, packaged as a reset of the timeline with one of the leads retaining his memories so it has some sequel like story.

Every time I start to like the drama, it becomes boring. I literally couldn't tolerate the long long emotionless conversations.

The main couple is the only saving grace of this season, nothing else really matters.

The drama till the 23rd episode is spectacular so the fact that it really starred in China isn't a fluke. Just the ending was total flop, the complete episode was a joke. I didn't feel it as low budget either, the costumes and locations were intricately detailed.

Also there are other nuances like the FL second personality is not portrayed faithfully throughout the drama. And the plots are made on the fly and sometimes change already defined rules to progress plot.

Still overall the drama is good. The switch of worlds in the last episodes may be jarring for some but its quite common in Wuxia, so I didn't feel it out of place. It was just extremely rushed, things do not happen so fast in a cultivation world.

Overall it is a happy ending.

There is a major problem obviously which subjectively makes people uncomfortable or outright furious. When I first hit it, I belonged in the outright furious group. Essentially, there is a story reset in the last few minutes of the series.

it is both. Asian dramas are often re-cut to change episode length which then changes episode numbers for a variety…
Wow such great laws! If only Taiwan was same, this show has so many breaks with loud music which completely shatter immersion multiple times in an episode.

It is an awesome show, even the bickering is awesome. The lead couple gets together at the usual mark and has ample time on screen.

Just that forced breakups were out of character and extremely jarring. The writers could have made it better, but no, they went with plots that relied on already discussed and resolved matters. They forget that the leads are grown, not young adults, throwing tantrums and foiling relationships with irresponsible words whenever they get frustrated. Really can't rate this over 8.

There is also another oddity, there is almost no cellphone use in the drama. No one intimates anyone with anything before hand, they always meet and do the talk... Was Taiwan really that backward just 7 years ago? I don't think so.

Title Moonlight
When they do get together later, the fish kiss galore starts. Why kiss when you can't deliver the feeling at all. As usual its the FL, the inept one, the poor ML tries his best, animating on the straight rock wall.

The second couple is much much better, but the FL refuses to learn. This drama even features the direction doing all that camera work to make the disastrous fish kisses, a bit better. I pity the crew.
