Damn, its too boring! I am literally dozing off watching E11...
It has been like this for some episodes already. The same old routine of the characters just goes on repeat, no progression whatsoever. The same toxic work environment for the FL, the same jealousy/obsession/immaturity of the ML and the same plot lines of the support casts.
Its not to say that there is nothing new in an episode but its too little to have significant impact in immersion.
Even though FL's workspace is central to the plot, everything just works out for her, there is no tension or trouble that lasts 1-2 scenes.
It was an OK ride. Considering how the world was put up to be, it had a plethora of weak plots and pointless protagonist glorification. When you make such an awesome entry point, you have to live up to it thoroughly but no the writers show their incompetence in the many high points of the show.
Things become part of the characters when they are needed to support the current twist. Things get resolved in favour of the protagonist without any effort or evidence but just because he said so!
Not to mention how the intelligence agencies are portrayed as dorks for comic relief! It is supposed to be a dark thriller, stick to it! With all this comic relief, I could not take this show seriously or feel the thrill.

The whole future timeline has been wiped. The past timeline is the new cannon, the future now will be rewritten anew. All previous set plots and personalities are no more.
That's the thing that irked me the most, as now the viewers are expected to follow the past self rather than the future. The plot was not saving the past self at the cost of everybody in the future, it became like that because the characters refused to think outside of a narrow view of their world.
The cassette could have been dealt with differently like encasing it in concrete and throwing it down to the ocean floor, bury it in a landfill or even perhaps store it in your bank locker. But I guess, the typical destruction mechanism was thrown in as a means to an end.
Though the drama did lose steam for the main couple till the end, it had its highs. Aside from the main couple, I loved the secondary couples and Yu Yan's stories more towards the end. Especially Wei and Jiang's unrequited romances aroused the most emotions in me. I consider that notes scene in the restaurant, the most romantic but also most saddening scene in the whole series.

They literally killed off all the future versions, their stories, their happiness, sorrow, everything. And frankly the washout was utterly inconsistent. How do the three leads get to know everything in the end while everybody forgets. It simply defies the rules they laid themselves.

Similarly people are too divided in the -ists to see my comment in the intended way. Also immature enough to mix a hypocritical jab with racism stereotypes. Pity, such good people have been misguided to screen everything through many -ist glasses. World was more trusting and peaceful before the advent of the -ists, now its just chaos and division. Wars couldn't divide us much but -ists created and divided communities in just a few years. Such ingenious planning, sprinkle polarising righteous targets and characterize the groups, human instincts will naturally lead to division, marvellous.
I don't think many -ists have enough presence of mind to retract their judgements or understand what I said. But for what its worth, I'll explain a bit, though it still perhaps not be as politically correct as they want it to be.

The FL's character was odd in some main plots. She obviously needed to vent/explode, and spew all she had boiling inside but she didn't. Only god knows why! She threw her anger around in other matters with people close to her.
I am in her shoes since my childhood with similar sources of frustration and it has not stopped even now in my middle ages. Still I found ways to deal with my state of mind, without anybody's help or support and much earlier than her.
Perhaps I was lucky but still its really too frustrating to just helplessly watch someone who couldn't find any outlet to their frustration, even after so much time has passed. And they have even become responsible mature adults.

The writers did a very rushed last episode, the quality similarly nose dived. It felt like a deliberate unnatural move to add tension in the second couple's story. I seriously question the troupe of a breakup in a relationship, as it is followed almost religiously by K-Drama creators, do they really think it is that good? I for one hate unnatural breakups which they always introduce in the last 3 episodes but this one was just too unspeakably bad.

Your portrayal of the character was severely lacking in the episodes 11-16 of True Beauty. There was already this mismatch to what should have been and how you acted. I felt the makeup and wardrobe were not up to par specifically for you. It made you look darker and out of place.
But as always, I look forward for a true lead role from you in the future.

There is no satire, no humor, she transforms and the day she does, she promotes to high school, no bullies in sight! Perfect getaway! The effort for the transformation is not even touched much on in those 2-3 episodes, a failed attempt, and only one detailed scene?
Bullies? After the transformation, a small scene in the middle and then at the end, teeny weeny face offs, is not my idea of a significant plot devices. And her belief in herself and her identity is a serious issue, and not because of her makeup skills which actually got her to make friends but it was her real self that made her social circle instill confidence in her. In turn, she grows to deal with her demons without her false facade.

By E11, the side plots are much better and wholesome than her own story. Even though FL is the main focus, she can't out shine the excellent male leads. Both have their respective stories and their own unique style/presence. Contrary to popular opinion here, I find them both equally outstanding.
The main fallacy of this show is as already laid out by many, the show loses its main premise as soon as the love triangle gets seeded. Though I won't say I didn't like the development, just the message of the show, so heavily focused initially, deserved better.
The FL's family antics are just so great to watch, her antsy mom, her soon to a fault father, her quirky narcissistic brother ("Oh Shit! My Eyes!" rofl), her strong assertive elder sister's romance, all of them are great to watch and experience.
I just started this and man that oversold unrealistic beauty mantra is so high in this drama, t I felt nauseated throughout... the FL ain't some earth shattering beauty either, she is average at best. I hope it gets better, cuz I won't be able to take it more than 2-3 episodes...
This flick has a great first half, the second half is only ok. If they kept with the main concept of house helper along with the other plot lines, it could have remained great but the second half completely focused on the romance and then personal issues of the main characters.

Just like how she ruined her assertive first kiss and the followup kiss with double whammy of fish kisses, she ruined the last ones, just the same. I mean these are meant to be passionate, not emotionless touching. So jarring!
