I just had the time, to watch that part again and I realized, my coffee hadn’t kicked in yet by the time, my eyes gobbled the episodes down (for me 6 am release time, thx Youku, much appreciated 😅).
But I missed the fact, that these weapon hair pins were from JBZ. Guess episode 12 gets a repeated watch too. What a chore, LOL.

Oh, I don’t judge her for her actions. They make sense in my book.
With betrayal I ment how betrayed he probably will be feeling , if he learns of her OG intentions to approach him.
The scene with the hand print, while he was still in the sunken abyss, is still playing in my head. That left a mark on him.
But after today’s episodes, perhaps I am overthinking things. And the broken heart for the 23rd episode on the calendar has different meanings and reasons. 😅

That guy had so many layers to his personality, you had no idea, how he would react in the next moment.
His actor really did this character justice.

I loved the start of episode 18.
How he grabbed her gown? She starts to be his haven. His sanctuary. 🥹
And his hopeful look, that she was still there and quite obviously has feelings for him? Nearly killed me.
I would be more happy about it, if the next betrayal wouldn’t be on the horizon. When he learns, that she approached him because of the Golden Mullet like rest of them. That she - seemingly - only feigned interest in him for her personal gain. (My guess 🤷🏻‍♀️. It could play out differently.)
That hopeful look in his eyes tells me, it will hit him like a train, because he won’t have his walls up.

My eyes kept dry during the whole drama until he stood before the memorial tablets of his comrades. That scene got me.

I just finished and while I am deeply satisfied how fast and thoroughly they cleaned the treacherous bunch out (until today I didn’t know a close up of a fist in a face could be so nice to watch, hehe), the sister as Empress in the making? Not after betraying her country for a dude without blinking twice about that decision.
Her misery was the consequence of her decisions. Penance.
Nothing what would justify getting to sit on the throne.
The brother deserved the chance. I liked his style in the making.

But Hou Minghao is a hot contender. He acted the h3ll out of his part in episode 13 of Love in the Clouds.

I like the character changes for him. Still a lot of layers but much more swoon worthy. 😅

I can put up with her ongoing lies, because she doesn’t lie for the fun of it or because she likes lying.
It is her learned skill to survive since childhood. A coping mechanism.
First because of her forced double life as a male fighter, and afterwards to get into his good graces. And her perceived impression of JBZ was that of a cold blooded lyer and trickster for full 2 ? month before he finally took her home.
So I get it - even if I don’t think it would’ve been necessary - that she still kept her guards up after the heart imprint thing.
And, how I stated in another part of this lively comment section, she has a staggering disregard for her own life, when people around her are in danger. That makes her honorable in my book, even though she is still lying.
But I can’t wait, until he finally knows the truth about her. 😅

What I read or - better - skimmed through so far, I guess some changes are good. I don’t think the OG character of JBZ would have been well received by the audience. 😅
