Nuh, you’re not alone. I have my struggles with TSY, too. Something about her face/person gives old fashioned, very matured vibes for me. I watched her with Xu Kai in a modern drama last. Both their acting was good, but the chemistry was lacking imo. They were supposed to be the same age, but she looked more mature the whole time, and it messed with my impression of them as a couple. She’s 35. Why still casting her as a “young girl”? (Source: synopsis) The actresses may look ageless nowadays, but the eyes are a giveaway nonetheless. China has an abundance of younger talented actresses who deserve a chance, too. But, 🤷🏻♀️, I will definitely give the drama a chance, and hope, that their acting (and perhaps some filters, LOL) will prove my doubts wrong.
Just rewatched episode 34, when MY went to Situ trying to find the wood for the antidote and he put her in wedding attire. LYX’s acting during that part was exceptionally well done, when you keep in mind the twist at the end. Her mimics and mannerisms - skillfully acted.
Currently watching episode 6. And I need to vent a little. What’s up with the soundtrack in this drama? It’s called background music for a reason. Only brought center stage, when it suits the narrative. Not attention seeking nearly the whole time.
Unpopular opinion, but I like the color change in their clothes. Our girl as the baddie that she is in black, and JBZ and Buxiu in these crème burned mashup colors. All three are rocking their outfits. And I think it’s cute, that 27’s new hair matches the color scheme of JBZ’s clothes. 😅
Situ Ling has baby face so he doesn’t suit playing villain He should play green flag sml instead
From the level, I react to his character, I would say, he does a great job at being a villain in disguise of a babyface. LOL MQB was a great villain too. Nicely portrayed in an ambiguous way, where you were never completely sure, how he would play out his next move. But these innocent baby faces like SL have the ability to sneak up to you because the face doesn’t display anything (yet). Only their actions. And even these come sometimes your way disguised as “good deeds”. Imo until now the actor for SL does an amazing job with the role given. He switches easily between the innocent fanboy and the villain in the making. But - everybody has a different take on things. So your opinions are valid as mine. 🤷🏻♀️
I want a 2nd ML in my life that is rich and looking gorgeous, like Situ Ling and many others in those dramas!…
How much episodes did you watch until now? There is a reason, the handsome 2ML Situ Ling has A LOT of comments here dedicated to him. And not in a good way. LOL And until now his character hasn’t had a redemption in the aired episodes.

That part of the story was triggering. Ngl. And I needed a break afterwards from this drama too. ( Today’s episode healed me quite a bit, after our stalker left the screen. Afterwards it was a wholesome episode for the most part. ) But to drop the ratings for it? Why? You can find fault with the script as a whole like some viewers, who find it boring or annoying because “always the same tropes”. But that didn’t seemed to be the case for you, or you wouldn’t have rated it a 9 until now. The actors did an excellent job with this difficult scenes. Or we wouldn’t react so heavily. (For me was Situ’s behavior afterwards adding to the massive discomfort I was feeling already.) The writing is - until now - plausible for the character development of the Situ role. Sadly in a dark, twisted and violent direction. Which can be unbearable to watch. That scene included.
After Situ left the screen the rest of episode healed me after yesterday’s trauma from too much exposure to stalker boy. How Situ violated her free will and kept pestering her … it was difficult and disgusting to watch. Today instead, seeing this motley warrior crew of underdogs (besides our MLs) going to that tea tournament, and the lovey dovey moments of our love birds brought some inner peace back. 🥰

Definitely. She tries to distance herself to make it easier for him, if she dies. And he? Does in reverse the same as her. Not telling her about the given antidote to avoid, that she will feel guilty if he needs it in the future. No surprise, the heart bound spell against the netherbeasts worked. One mind, indeed, with these two lovebirds.
