I decided to wait, until the last episode was released and then watch the last 3 episodes in one go.
Definitely the right choice.
That drama was beautiful.
It felt like a comforting hug, delivered through a drama.

The acting of all three during the argument between Duang and Jamie was so good.
You could see it on their faces the moment, when they realized, that they both went too far.
The micro expressions were on point

I found his “I want to cry, but the tears aren’t really coming” crying quite realistic for a character, that was closed up since childhood, and only recently started to open up.

That was such a well written subplot.
Money is an important part of a relationship and how Qin addressed it and handled it showed, how much he cares about Duang and that their relationship will be successful.
He clearly understands Duang’s personality and found a good solution.

Besides the big emotional moments I found it funny af, how both friend groups tried to outdo each other in who is the bigger prize, Qin or Duang. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love these friendships moments. They make this drama so much richer (if that is even possible as amazing as it is already)

My optimism agrees, that they could heal from it as a family with the right communication.
My experience knows, that it most often isn’t as “easy”.

Rewatching episode 1, the concert scene, after episode 9.
The lyrics were meaningful before.
But now they are still hitting differently.

The drama didn’t give the impression, that he only noticed Duang bc of his looks.
If we keep in mind, that Qin got scolded and (kinda?) mistreated for being “too loud” in his childhood, my guess is, that the first hook, Duang left in him, was his loud and boisterous behavior with his friends during cram school days.
The polar opposite of his learned behavior.
Result: Qin is annoyed and intrigued equally.
Once on his radar, he observed Duang’s kindness and steadiness towards others.

Or leave it on the floor.
Perhaps less damage 😅

They feel obviously a deep regret, but are continuing to lowkey hurt him with their actions.
That is a truth in many families.

The meal with the parents displayed the underlying dysfunctionality as a family.
They love and care clearly for their son, but he is not a priority in their life.
They are seldom at home and have the opportunity to see their son, but still decide to go on a romantic date instead to spend the rest of the day with their son.
Qin’s message to his dad with the guitar analogy was a hard truth.
