I don’t need necessarily romance in a drama.
I recently watched multiple dramas with none or sparingly existing romance.
My main reason for starting this drama was Zhou Yiran, since he is one of my favorite actors.
But while I like his acting and his chemistry with the fl in this drama, I think I will sit this one out.
I read through the comments below and I got the impression, the storytelling of this drama won’t be my thing even if I keep watching.

I hope, I didn’t dim your enjoyment with the show.

So, it does have a central plot?
I started episode 5 and until now I don’t know, what the driving plot line of this drama is.
Lots of people and sects, which have obv open or hidden beef with one another, but what is the main plot?

It started a bit slow but it got momentum in the second half.
Loved how they concluded the different storylines.

I like Yagi as an actor since MBM.
But he looked way too mature for the role of a high schooler.
I was waiting for a time skip to adulthood in the story, which would’ve slightly justified him being chosen as the ml, but there was none.

The topic of this small discussion is the reason, that I, as an occasionally Thai BL watcher, have my issues with their shipping culture and fixed couples.
Their private life and relationship dynamic shouldn't even matter or be a part of any public interest.
They're actors, who should be able, if they are serious with their chosen profession, to act in different kind of roles and to portray a variety of characters on screen.
