Lol it's the MRJH of course. I don't understand Mei lin's thought process though. They're showing us multiple times that he loves her, misses her etc. But what is she thinking? Obviously she still loves him since she ran to him when she woke up and made sure he was ok but now what? She's doing this marriage for peace but what does she actually want? And how are we going to get from this preview to her holding a knife to YQ's throat and jumping off a cliff?

It's so refreshing to see such a badass multifaceted and powerful female lead who is also allowed to be vulnerable and so completely in love. Contrary to what a lot of writers and fans seem to think, the two are not mutually exclusive and can go hand in hand beautifully.

I'm excited for all of this. Is this speculation based on the trailers/promos or do we know it's happening for a fact? Also I love that they're going to fight to cure each other's sicknesses that's my kind of couple.

Oh I'm calm lol just bracing myself for the angst when she finds out and I know that I saw the clips on my TL about the village. I was just wondering if there is a moment in the episodes that haven't aired yet where she tries to save him because you said "they run to save each other" and I know him diving after her hasn't happened but her diving after him already did so it's something I haven't seen in the promos.

I'm only 7 eps in and I can't help but read spoilers I'm not ready for the pain. How do we know they're gonna be running to save each other in the next episodes? I saw he dives after her in a trailer but hers already happened no?

TY, I do love a complex FL with agency, I also love a true partnership where the narrative doesn't paint either of the leads as more in love or more willing to sacrifice for the other. Oftentimes however, cdramas seem to think the 2 are mutually exclusive, which is why I've gotten more apprehensive in choosing what I watch.

I'm really in the mood for gorgeous winter landscapes but reading the comments to see if this is worth it is giving me whiplash. some are saying this is a slow burn with a loving and equal couple, others is calling it boring , wondering if the FL is even in love with the ML and heavily criticizing her.

Yes I understood that the theme is that you fall in love with someone's soul not what they look like I just meant that the consensus seems to be that the relationship is very much about the ML's depth of love for the FL while I prefer my fictional otps to fit the description I mentioned earlier but I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't really pay much attention to actors so I don't mind different interpretations, the script/writing is my priority tbh.

I was interested in that one as the face swapping seemed really intriguing but judging from the comments/reviews it seems they were 99% touting the ML and his utter devotion and love for the FL and not so much the other way around so I put it in the back burner.

I'll have to see for myself but I think that's just now the lingo to describe male leads in romantic shows and it has kind of lost all meaning. A lot of the time though the description seems apt because cdramas really love a deeply devoted madly in love ML and it's not reciprocated from the FL most of the time hence the term "loserism" seems appropriate.

I appreciate it, and I agree a lot of people only watch from the lens of what the ML is doing in terms of romance but in their defense in most cases, the writing is what's fueling that and the relationship is intrinsically built on him being a "simp" without much reciprocation.

Thank you for the detailed explanation, I skimmed the comments and they did not inspire confidence with all the " the ML is getting a degree in looserim " statements. And with the track record of cdramas and how they portray romantic relationships in most instances, I was afraid it was more of the same.

How's this so far? I don't really want to watch another loser by himself ML for the 50th time but a partnership where both characters are just as whipped and downbad for each other.

Oh no, I had high hopes from the descriptions and trailers for Ning and Snowy night that they'd give us equal relationships... KMLV sounds great from the book but the trailer makes it seem like they rewrote it to give the exact same thing every romance did in 2024.

I'm excited to watch it, I haven't been able to watch much of anything lately. There's a lot of high profile romance stuff airing/about to air (Snowy night, Ning, KMLM) and I'll wait until it ends as well as your reviews to see if they're well written and if the otps are well balanced (since I know from the discussions we've had you also care about that aspect) or it's the usual nonsense we've been getting this year.

Despite the ending this actually sounds great, a well written drama that respects our intelligence and has complex politics and character dynamics? Yes please. Plus a relationship that's actually equal and devoted from both sides? Sign me up. I so miss intricately written political shows outside and inside the harem.
