* Lu zhi has reinvented himself as Mr. xue. .....I always thought that if Lu zhi was alive he could be no other…
I wouldn't say Lu buyou was led astray because what exactly was he supposed to do? He was declared dead with no evidence against the people who murdered his entire family including his little sister and dozens of other innocent servants and they had become rich and powerful, they were all evil and deserved so much worse...
This drama was supposed to be 54 eps and it shows, we're getting the speedrun version of character arcs that should've taken dozens of episodes. We get so few non fantasy historical dramas as it is. Do the ones who make it through censorship hell have to be butchered so utterly in terms of content AND number of episodes, I really miss the days of yanxi palace and ming lan.
Let's hope that we get the bts for that scene because it is never passing censorship, especially since this is airing on tv and not just an online platform...
I need this to happen even though it seems unlikely after no news for such a long time. This writer and this director? Absolute gold, they adapted ming lan to absolute perfection and I need them to do 10 other dramas together.
This drama rewired my brain and I haven't been the same ever since. The level of devotion the FL displayed here was so incredible, so powerful, while also being kind, smart and never compromising her beliefs, other female leads wish they had half her dedication, we get so many devoted MLs but rarely do their counterparts return it in the same levels and it is so gratifying to see, this; Queen in hyun's man and LBFAD are the only 3 dramas where I wholeheartedly believed two people loved each other so equally and utterly they would move heaven and earth for each other. I just wish we got to see more female leads like this, I think they believe since they cater to a female audience we want to see men doing everything for the women but that's not how you tell a love story, it should be both, it should always be both.
It's the same show (read the premise), it's just MDL with their usual garbage plot translations and incorrect…
The premise sounds completely different, " she will act as Han Young-soo who is a psychopath has been trained as a member of the family planning team since she was young and has naturally brain hacking skills" even her character's names are different...
I'm only on ep 7 and my blood is boiling. I need every single of one of these f*ckers who had a hand in assaulting and re-victimizing this poor poor girl to have their life ruined. The monstrosity of not only raping her but having her get abused and belittled time and time again after doing it is just too much.
How about everyone else who was complicit? I'm gonna need everyone of them to burn, especially those guards who assaulted her while asking her to tell the story of what happened for their "investigation", those pigs
I was so excited for this and demon hunter's romance, being a cdrama fan is such an exercise in disappointment, if it's not the ccp banning all subjects known to man or butchering dramas beyond recognition it's actors acting like they were just born yesterday and don't know what country they live in or enforced episode numbers that make no sense...
oh yes! that's why in many cases, oldies are goldies-even in historical k and chinese ones!
Absolutely, I've noticed this lately and it's not just kdramas, it's cdramas and western shows too. It's like well written well developed female character has in often cases become synonymous with "woman who treats her love interest like trash".
The princess man 😍 i actually recommended people to watch TPM on this page , because the FL here truly loved…
Exactly, there's nothing I love more than interesting complex female characters but if your goal is to tell a love story you need to balance good character writing with a believable romance.

The best sageuk romance of all time, it was incredibly angsty but you believed BOTH these people would move heaven and earth for each other and if you're telling a love story, isn't that how it should be? It feels like a lot of these writers now think we want to self insert as the FL and I'm just like nah just show me an epic love story.
I truly miss the ride or die OTPs , kdramaland used to be FILLED with them, princess man, healer, it's okay that's love, queen inhyun's man and that's what I loved so much about these romances , two people who will do anything for each other, I adored female leads who knew what they wanted and fought for it no matter what. I feel like nowadays there's this trend of very dedicated male leads and the female leads are just like the "go girl give us nothing" meme and I don't get it at all.
If you're trying to sell me on a epic romance this is not the way to do it, that needs to have both sides be as equally devoted. This is not even remotely close to that, the FL is just always saying the most vile horrifying stuff to this man, if you want to watch a ride or die queen who gives back as much as she gets go watch Princess' man.
I'm really interested in princess Roujia's story, whatever it is I hope they handle it with care and complexity and not just paint her as some evil woman who ends up dead...
