Sun Jae being hopelessly in love with Sol and not caring about his death if it saves her has everyone fangirling but Sol doing the exact same thing because she loves in the same hopeless all consuming way he does is considered a problem. Sure she could've been smarter about it but she's acting from a place of emotion and not reason. I grasp the appeal of the perfectly devoted male lead but there's nothing better than a couple that's perfectly devoted to each other and Soljae embody that completely.

I know we all like to talk and joke about how much of a loser in love SJ is but I honestly don't think IS loves him any less than he loves her. The way she always puts his safety and happiness first, sometimes even ahead of her own warms my heart. They're just two genuinely decent people who adore each other and that's beautiful.

I think for a relationship to work, it shouldn't be one person who is always more understanding and mature and loving and giving but both people should always try their best to be that for each other and when one falters, the other picks up the slack, if it's always one person doing the work then that's not a partnership and something any of us would want for ourselves but we all have different views I guess. Also can I ask what you meant by "she loves him x100000 times it seems", that sentence confused me.

I just read the spoilers on twitter and wow... They get engaged then she breaks up with him and then they get back together at the end ????

I was frustrated with him at first but just like I understood where she's coming from, I understood where he was coming from because he didn't want to get hurt since she knew she was going to leave. I think my thing is before couples get together I can accept them hurting eo etc which is why I love relationships who start off as enemies but once they are together I like a more supportive dynamic, if you feel they are pretty much the same then that's great, we're all going to process and view things differently.

I wasn't talking about her staying for him or her giving up her career, I was talking in general, there's no need to infer something from my comment I didn't state. All I said was that understood her hangups and why she acts the way she does but that I personally prefer more balanced relationships. Nowhere did I call her selfish and even if people were to do that, that's their opinion on a fictional piece of media and I don't think implying people are somehow being misogynistic is the appropriate response to someone giving their thoughts, if that's not what you were hinting at then I apologize.

I think the last few episodes will determine how I feel about this drama, I love the secondary characters but when it comes to the main couple, although I understand ZJ and all her complicated insecurities, I don't enjoy relationships where it mostly falls on one of them to always be patient and understanding and loving and so far imo that's definitely the case here. I personally prefer two people with flaws who are mutually supportive and just as in love with eo and are both willing to make concessions for eo.

You are my glory, this is not a life drama but more of a lighthearted romance and it starts slow but it's completely focused on two people navigating their relationship, their jobs and supporting each other.
Not chinese dramas but korean dramas that fit the bill,

Call it love, lovely romance that starts with a girl trying to get revenge on the son of someone who wronged her family.
Just between lovers, two people who years later are still emotionally scared from a mall collapse they got trapped in where they both lost things.
When the weather is fine, city girl comes back to her hometown, both leads have a lot of baggage but it's a moody slow show.

He's so understanding and supportive of her no matter what she does or says,the way he says he anything is fine by him as long as they're together, I really wish we could see her show him the same amount of love and support.

The dialogue between them doesn't make it seem like that's the case bc if it is then why did she come back so fast without doing that? it sounds like she didn't want to give up on Shanghai without going there again. I don't know how closely the drama is following the novel but I really hope they showcase a supportive communicative relationship from both of them. They can both decide that she goes to Shanghai for her career and to save up for them and they visit each other until she comes back. Thank you again for answering all our questions.

I'm re-reading this and wow because you're telling me they get engaged and then she up and leaves decides she doesn't like it in shanghai and then comes back to him and they get still get back together? At least portray some semblance of balance in the relationship because this is too depressing.

Yeah she left and then she came back to stay but I didn't see anything about an engagement or marriage lol
