Title Mine Spoiler
no, i don't understand jakyungs anger at all. first of all, she doesnt know what Heesoo did or didnt do. second…
tbh i agree with all of this, it was an awful move on jakyung's part and incredibly harmful to hajoon. i think the writer is leading us to believe that she's his biological mom and when i say i "understand" her i mean that she probably tried to criticize heesoo because a "real mom" doesn't have the time to think rationally, she'd follow her instinct and hurt whoever hurts her kid. that a "real mom" would never be as collected and calm as heesoo seemed to be in that situation. but like you said, she doesn't know how heesoo feels and what she did. and personally, heesoo showed the true strength of a mom. even though it's hard she prioritized hajoon's future and his feelings over her own feelings and insticts. if she did otherwise that'd just be selfish and hurt the kid. but she put hajoon first.

also i understand jakyung's anger after hearing what happened to the kid, no matter if she's his real mom or not, but heesoo actually did do the best thing she could to protect him in this situation without causing more damage for the kid.

imagine if an actress, as famous as heesoo is, just appeared at someone's door and physically fought them like jakyung did? knowing heesoo, she'd most definitely want to do that, she'd do everything for hajoon and like she said she doesn't care if she gets embarrassed in the way, but she also thought about him in the long term. it couldn't be easy to take the less physically aggressive route when someone is bullying your son, but if she didn't play it rationally, the news would be leaked and his life would be even more difficult.

i love how heesoo stood up for her son. she doesn't seem the type who likes to play dirty but there's nothing she wouldn't do to protect him. she might not be the most mysterious character (when compared to... pretty much half of the drama) but i think i love her scenes the most. she's not afraid to stand up for what she thinks is right and she stays true to herself no matter what she does and where she might be.

the first episode was a bit all over the place but i hope the upcoming episodes won't be as messy. i feel like they were trying to do too many things at once but i'd still like to think there's a lot of potential because the leads are clearly amazing

nothing was announced yet about the date, just that the finale is postponed. it also probably won't be livestreamed…
that's how they translated it on twitter, yes. but if you look at the original post on weibo, they stated that it is cancelled for this saturday, and that they're looking for ways to adjust the program rules (probably because milk votes don't count anymore, they have to find a new voting system). all of the top comments are asking iqiyi about the new official date, so it is not a matter of cancelation as a whole, at least no such post has been made yet. it was a really poor choice of wording on their part for the international translations i guess.

wait, the show is cancelled? I thought that they only stopped filming
it's not cancelled yet, don't worry. a lot of people are stressed about it because iqiyi's statement on weibo is really poorly written, but they didn't state any info which would imply it is permanently canceled (actually a lot of people are upset bc they barely gave us any concrete info, other that it won't be aired today and that the voting has been stopped). new problems arise every day at this point, but they're clearly looking for a solution because they would cancel it by now. if they don't resolve this, it might impact other survivals as well

Guys will there be a live finale today?
nothing was announced yet about the date, just that the finale is postponed. it also probably won't be livestreamed even if it happens. there are some rumors that it was filmed last night (from the 'staff' lacking the info to fansites saying goodbye to trainees and congratulating them for being done with the show) but nothing is for sure.

Title Youth with You Season 3 Spoiler
Tony withdrawing is a tragic thing tbh. Even tho I was not exactly a fan of his (compared to other trainees),…
i absolutely agree with this entire comment, especially the last part, since there really is no scenario where his well-being and mental health aren't harmed in the process and he does seem to be on the more stress-prone side of the show. but i can't help but think this was the best decision he could make in the long term. weibo and douban have been hell recently, countless posts with thousands and thousands of hate comments. it'd surely get worse, even if he debuted in the lower ranks (some already gave them a 'drug group' nickname). his company and pr team already did enough damage for other trainees too, i lost count at how many posts i saw dragging others in (especially xiao lian and yizhou). apparently they already started losing sponsors in these past 2-3 days. tbh it's unfortunate that all of this is happening so late in the show, whoever postponed it for the last week truly has no mercy...
his parents also handled this whole thing awfully, rejecting all claims without any proof and then threatening to sue people was so irresponsible on their part

Title Taxi Driver
Drama is basically based on fiction. If the real society is a mess, it is more difficult for social critical dramas…
a lot of kdramas do get inspired by real-life events though. i know that stranger was based on several real-life cases and actually raised relevant and valid points about korea's legal system. as for taxi driver, i believe i saw a few tweets talking about the cases that inspired the drama. the drama is fictional of course, but a lot of people can see similar cases irl. the comment section of ep4 compilation on youtube is full of bullying victims saying they got comfort seeing the revenge in eps 3-4 (and these are most liked/top comments). i remember when i met my friend who just finished military service and he said that misaeng was the most popular drama while he was there because everyone could relate to it and the hardships the characters faced
