the poster doesn't give me a good impression but i hope the drama itself is good. sooyoung's last character (run on) was brilliant

i guess the action scenes debate made some people wanna check out the drama but the compilation of ep4 scenes has been trending on youtube korea for days now in top 2 and i'm so happy the vast majority of comments is about people falling in love with this drama. i hope the ratings go up this weekend! so far it's really worth watching. i've been a fan of ljh for a long time but pyo yejin really won my heart with this role. there are some imperfections, the editing in particular seems a bit off at times, but the acting makes it really worth it.

same here, i don't think i'd be able to watch if they didn't take action to replace her quickly

i've been waiting for this drama because of ljh and esom but i have to express my appreciation for pyo yejin here. she didn't have much time to prepare for this role but she still understood it so well and delivered a great performance. she's a fantastic actress and i hope she gains more even recognition with this drama.

yes, most stuff can be found on chinese sites. and the details are usually leaked by different melon accounts. some of them are quite reliable bc they have connections w the show, and they even post the rankings, stage scores and pretty much everything else way before it gets aired. btw they had a live stream 1-2 days ago and both jingtian and yizhou confirmed again that they have no drama, jingtian even mentioned that his speech wasn't dramatic at all but the editing made it that way. and yizhou mentioned how jingtian approached him right after the speech so they have no misunderstandings. they're still good friends :')

i'm not sure what specific shooting he had but throughout the entire show, the polls are open so the viewers can vote for their picks in order to secure them extra ads, live streams, etc. this season, a few trainees will also appear on ace vs ace but they were personally picked by lyc. ofc there is also youth party along with magazine shootings for top9 after the eliminations. it goes like this until the show's finale.
none of the ads with trainees we get in the eps are accidental but a result of organized mass voting and yihang stans are especially good at this, that's why he gets a lot of benefits. it really shows the fanbase's strength to win benefits like this. but everything gets poorly organized each season and it just ends up taking a lot of the trainees' time. like in the last week, those who went to film a show even had to take a flight and come back to dachang on the same day. it's all over the place but the pds don't seem to care and the fans obvs want to help their faves by voting.

also jingtian wasn't coming at yizhou personally but qcyn has a "curse" or a pattern where the first center always ends up as the final one. he said that he wanted to break the curse by winning the show but the editing made it seem like it was more personal and like he was provoking yizhou. the staff actually told lyz to comment on his speech, it wasn't his own initiative

jingtian and yizhou are really close friends tho, i think iqiyi is to blame. the show isn't doing too well domestically and they're generating more drama for the attention and to get the fans more invested. for example in the last episode, jingtian did his speech before liang sen (who talked for around 20 minutes) and then the staff told yizhou to respond to him. but with this editing, it looked completely different. the two even use their dialects when speaking to each other and they spend a lot of time together, there are so many records of them hanging out, joking with each other, coming back together from the rehearsals etc. tbh it's kinda upsetting that the show is pitting them against each other so much. while they do have a friendly rivalry it's all that it is.. friendly

how was the cast on mdl approved? isn't this still based only on the pd's following, and not the official confirmation? i thought that the casting is open till the end of april

that's true. his ? is also 4th, right after tony, jojo and jerome (and much stronger than that of e.g. yizhou, waston etc). huaiwei's actually my #1 pick along with yinghao. that said, i'm mostly concerned about the amount of screentime he's been getting in the past few eps and how his ranking turned out the last time he participated. i'm just really scared of the same scenario happening so i don't wanna jinx it. but hopefully he's gonna debut this time, i'd love to see him in the lineup more than any other trainee. he's been doing great so far in terms of support. from his ?, trending on weibo for his performance despite getting so little screentime to his fancams consistently getting lots of attention and his supertopic being in top4 most of the time. i really hope he makes it.

pretty sure a lot of people would boycott the drama and most brands broke the cf deals with her so the pds would be criticized for being the only ones not to do so

I think it's safe to say that Tony, Yizhou, Jojo and Kachine have the highest chances to debut. Their individual fandoms are really strong (though I wish I could be as confident to say this for Huaiwei too since he's one of my top3). I also used to think that Jerome has a secured spot due to his fandom size but his past performance has been very controversial so idk how that will affect him.

true... and to film the whole drama during a pandemic must not be easy on anyone behind the scenes. it's such a shame for everyone that has worked on this, but i'm at least glad they have the time to change something without the drama airing, perhaps even before the initial release date.

I believe it was actually Shin PD's idea. He told the cast members they were originally planning for this drama to have several seasons and wanted to do something different so I don't think it's necessarily because of Netflix. I believe they just wanted this not to have a standard kdrama format, and the cast (Kyungho) especially liked the idea.

I wonder if we'll get any updates on the replacement for LNE. I really wouldn't want the whole cast and staff to suffer because of her controversy. With LJH and Esom as the main leads, I was really looking forward to this..

yup, i get you. the drama is very heavy on the characters rather than the plot itself but it'd still be interesting to get more of his background. i see why it might look like he's just there to develop danah's storyline. thank you for sharing your perspective btw, i didn't mean anything negative either.
