The worst thing is that the second male lead is not giving up on her, probably not until episode 40. I have little hope that they will make him more rational toward her. I guess this is what we get when one of the tags is a love triangle... but let's face it, there is no triangle here because she does not care for him in that way; it is just him obsessing.

She escapes toward the second half of episode 18.

It’s not just about revenge, his people are still being enslaved, forced into prostitution, killed, and treated like animals. His subordinates aren’t brainless followers; they support his cause because they want to be free and seek justice for everyone who’s been killed or imprisoned. He didn’t sacrifice them, their plans simply failed. Whether the plan was brilliant or not is another story. I think the show struggles to capture the duality of his character: how he can be ruthless in pursuing his mission but still deeply care about the suffering of lower class people. They tend to only show one side or the other.

The same issue exists with the 2ML. He’s supposed to be a manipulative strategist who believes he can 'own' the FL because he genuinely thinks it’s what’s best for both of them (and he is the typical man of that period when women were considered property.). But instead, he just comes across as a full-blown creep with obsessive behaviour.

The thing with her master really gets on my nerves because FL is a very rightous and reckless person and why she didnt teach her to fight is beyond me. The master was escaping from danger, and she knew that the mountain was a temporary place and that they would have been discovered at some point. But no, let's keep you in the dark and completely unable to fight to protect yourself. At least she is knowledgeable with other things 😅

For me, it is even more baffling when they take a novel with a large fanbase and butcher it so much to the point of completely changing the plot, deleting beloved characters, or even switching love interests. 😅😆 As a result, they completely alienate the fanbase and make the story unenjoyable even for the rest of the audience. And someone approved of that and said, "Ah, yes, that was an amazing idea." 😅

If he spent less time going psycho over her, he would have been a great manipulative and clever character, but his obsession with her knocks him down and makes him creepy and pathetic

They always make dramas with less complicated characters and plots, like a light version of novels. I haven’t read this novel, but from all the spoilers, he does seem like an interesting character. However, I still don’t like his interactions with the female lead or him as a man in the novel. To make matters worse, in the drama version, he went full-on next-door abusive toxic stalker from our times. You know those who take away women's freedoms and decision-making in the name of protection and love. If he hadn't gone all psycho for FL, he would have had more time to shine as a character . As for his IQ, considering the overall story, he doesn't seem stupid. Yes, he is not the character from the novel, but none of them are. Just try to dissociate drama frpm the novel and think about it as soemthing different. Anyway, no drama will ever be able to portray what you read, I gave up on that 😆 That's the curse of reading the novel beforehand, unfortunately.

Omg, that's so disappointing. I never tried to read the novel because I thought I couldn't go through the heartbreak again, so I never knew about this. 😱 The horror! But then kudos to the drama writers and the actors in One and Only

You can see it on her face; she is getting disappointed, and in some scenes, it seems she doesn’t trust him. But she still chooses to give him all this benefit of the doubt, which is annoying, considering you can see that she can see through him, so it makes you feel frustrated. However, she has a forgiving soul, as that’s how she dealt with the male lead. I think she is forgiving when she is personally involved but not forgiving when other innocent people are hurt, as well for some reason she can always see the bigger picture and never be personally too hurt by things 🤷🏼‍♀️

He will definitely be a problem for Ayan, but don't think he will go on a revenge spree against the women who testified. He has so many other problems to solve just to stay alive. There was a kdrama where the son was a rapist and the father didn't care. When the brother came to ask for justice because the son assaulted his sister (who was like 13 or 14), the father just brushed it off and gave him a coin! That scene was so well done that it made you feel how disgusting the situation was, while in cdramas everything is made more clean and 'pretty' (I don't know how to describe it better than that).

I just couldn't finish it. I don't know how the writer came up with the idea to write something like that as a sequel to One and Only 🤷🏼‍♀️
