surprised at how much personality ML has in this one lol, usually in these kinds of dramas ML is cold and showing no affect
kind of nice to see a ML who actually knows how to cry and show some vulnerability despite his intimidating build/appearance. might i admit, one of the healthiest male partner i've seen in japanese dramas, he's so perfect it's actually unbelievable.
shirota yu has been a familiar face in jdramas for a while now, and i'm surprised he still does not get as many lead roles as he deserves
if anyone's watching this drama please let me know which episode the scene where hayoung is with eunhyuk and she falls off her chair when someone walks into the room 😭i had left a comment on the episode to remember, but when dramaco0l shut down, the comment deleted ughh. that scene is my fav lol
yes, it follows the "romances" of all of the sisters, but only takiko has a classic romance progression, i liked her story. the other sisters have very tumultuous relationships, but still interesting. the women are the main focus of this drama
I'm not expert in jdramas, watched couple shows but non of them impressed me but miss king rised the bar for me…
i think you will like doronjo (2022), has a similar "revenge" type story. Besides that, some other engaging jdramas I would recommend are spec: birth/keizoku (2010), dearest/saiai (2021), trillion game (2023), and roOT (2024)
the drama is nothing particularly amazing but it reminds me of early 2016-era dramas so I am feeling a lot of nostalgia while watching it. it feels like a webdrama but if webdramas were allowed a longer runtime per episode, really interesting and fun so far.
I haven't seen bon appetit yet but what is the reference you're referring to?
In WYMM, theres a scene where she says to her mom that she's getting more into cooking and wants to cook Szechuan chicken for them, which is something her character "invents" in BAYM by taking an ancient kung pao chicken recipe and incorporating Szechuan peppercorns and gochugaru
isn't Shinonome kaori Tendo's aunt? I think I remember him calling her so. But if she's FL's mother, aren't her and ML blood-related? Unless he was just calling her aunt because he knew her since he was a kid? I feel like I missed some important context lol I would love some clarification
the stories of women who have generationally been taught to shrink themselves and settle for much less when it comes to men. true, silent female rage bottled up in a drama, i'm enjoying it quite a bit.
a story written by women, for women.
not a single likable male character except maybe takiko's love interest
with only one episode remaining for me to watch, i doubt any of the women in the drama will get justice. but in my mind i have hope they will work to break the norm and teach their sons to be better men, and their daughters to never settle for less
