I saw that look and went "uh oh". Ironically, she knew her husband messed up. She basically said out loud in front of everyone that what he did was wrong. And it wasn't like something in the past, he still had a hostage. So I get her being overwhelmed with what just happened but no one forced him to do what he did to himself. He made those choices and he sealed the fate of their marriage by doing so. If anything she should repent on his behalf for all the dirty things he did.

Here we are at ep 19 and nope, I still don’t like He ZJ. Please just go. I don’t know if it’s the actress portraying the character or the words that the script has her deliver that just never rubs me right. Something about her character that I never warmed up to. Through all the good and bad her character went through, I just never loved or hated her. Simply dislike - prickly vanilla.

Duh! You are assuming people who don’t like her character are heartless and don’t understand her. Perhaps you should try to understand other people have different forms of opinion.
Heartless about a fictional character in the TV drama?? Let’s tone down the dramatics and chill. I'm not her therapist. And let's put it in perspective - you aren't the character so you don't know what the character does or doesn't feel - save your CAPS for another time.

When people show you their true colors, believe it. I FF through Jieli parts because I have trouble swallowing the noble idiocy between her character and Orchid.

I think she has a role later in the drama too. Yet, I'm going the other way and feeling that she's more likely to ruin her life than save it.

JieLi's character annoys me too. She's that friend everyone is better off without.

Ep15- I see no reason why she had to remove the bracelet from her own hand to give it to the other girl and have her run and save herself. I understand that she’s naïve and innocent and kind and all those wonderful things. However, had she just worn the bracelet and stood in front of her new friend she would’ve protected them both anyways. She knew that they more or less were coming after her because they had an interested in the destiny Leaf. The noble but really dumb aspect of this episode bothered me.

Where am I getting the relationships mixed up? I've seen the character chart and am more confused lol. So Rong Hao and ChangHeng are buddies, Rong Hao's master is the Chidi Woman who is dead with her spirit floating around?
All this time I thought the woman ChangHeng was engaged to and missing was the Chidi woman - i thought they were ONE person(facepalm)? I thought Orchid was the spirit of the Chidi woman and the fiancee.....
Where did I get so lost???

CSS and LBY’s love is fire and I’m here for it! Love them. I also am really loving how YS is stepping into the 2ML spot as far as love story goes. I don’t think I ever wrote him off as they potentially good husband for CSS. He’s very different from LBY and took a lot longer to get to where he needs to be. However, had this been another drama this point in the story (he comes to help CSS’ family would be where their relationship enters the next phase and blossoms. He reminds me of DMS and SanChai in Meteor Garden.

Obviously, in this drama he is meant to be there for her but not meant to be the one for her. I think I always have had a soft spot for him in this drama and was waiting for his character’s “redemption”. With that said, the more he redeems himself and shines- the more badly I feel for him when LBY comes back.

Any spoilers direct from the novel on the ultimate fate of the 3rd princess?

There was a scene where the concubine told her own daughter to stop stirring the pot and that all she wants in life is peace and quiet. Hopefully she stays that way through the whole drama- fingers crossed.

They just keep on coming. She’s prob the most brazen character we’ve seen so far imo. I saw in a long preview at the beginning of the series ,there was two ladies yelling at the CSS and the Queen. One had clothes similar to Wang Lin but based on what we’ve seen so far I didn’t think it was the Emperor’s concubine- pretty sure I figured out who it is now lol.

Wang lin’s mom - oh my gosh. That’s going to be a nightmare.

Her parents failed her. Not the other way around and it’s sad.

Let’s me sum up Mom Code up to Ep 24
First, I leave my child behind to fight for my country - commendable. But I leave her behind with snakes who are up to no good and no protection. Come back, slam my child for not fitting a traditional mold of what a good girl will be- all the while knowing she is a product of her surroundings. Never admitting the admirable traits of my own flesh and blood. Telling everyone how my kid sucks but my niece is awesome. Letting her peers bully her but chastising my kiddo for standing up for herself and telling her she should just it down and take it.
Giving all that’s good to my niece. Believing no one of decent substance is worthy of my kid - just kidding!! My kid sucks in my eyes and unworthy of a decent marriage. I’m shocked any guy wants her and not my prize niece. Making up all these reasons why my kid is subpar. Who is ready to be a mom? Step right up!!!
