I have a question tho... did Jenna write 2 songs?
Coz in episode 1 she plays one song on the piano, and Ji Han hears it.
But it can't be the same song CC is suppose to have a comeback with, coz then when Bbiyong played it for Ji Han as their comeback song, Ji Han would recognize it...

I thought they will go with the "there is a proof it's Jenna's song coz she have sent the email to the late CEO with the demo"... but it does not fit with the fact Ji Han heard the song so he would know Bbiyong stole it right away.

It's not a romance show, but it does have romance. Slow burn tho, if anything.

I think the "deep conversation" he had with Jenna about finding himself was there not to show they might be romantically compatible etc, but rather to explain his initial interest in her and the group. Basically what I got from it, it was never about her and helping her, it was about him and trying to figure himself out. Which basically kills any possibility of them getting together even more 🤣

It's not that easy. There are groups that were promoted hard by companies and still "flopped" and disbanded and some that were poorly promoted but still gain fans. It's a mix of companies promotion and management, idols and their talent + appeal to the audience and the simple luck. Especially now, with how oversaturated the market for groups and idols is.

Perfect example how cliche can work and be done well. First, you need actors who have good chemistry with each other. Second, you need a set up that makes sense - why is this dynamic and power imbalance possible. Third, you need to show that the interaction fuck up both parties, and it's not just a dude having fun and toying with the lady.

There is nothing more satisfying than how close to tears Jae Hyuk is from anger and frustration after every chat he has with Je Na 🤣 Nothing better than seeing him feeling guilty after his actions made him feel like trash later on 🤣

For me it's really entertaining. While first two episodes got me in for the idol side and to see more grim reality of it, episode 3 and 4 (especially 4) interested me because of Je Na's character and her conflict with Jae Hyuk. I'm curious to see what will win - her desperation or his narcissism.

It shows the "dark side" in a more realistic way, but it still has hints of the "Disney solving conflicts" type of deal. But nowhere near what happened in Imitation.
