The way that CEO had a bro who recorded EVERYTHING. As in all the employee bullying and assaults but those videos…
Well... the CEO in real life did just that too 🤣
And it took years for the public to find out. if it was not for taxi team who literally destroyed all the evidence, it would be seen by public too 🤣

"The cases are so dramatized " exactly why I dropped it after evil read head CEO case. It was just presented in such a dumb and over the top way I could not take it. Honestly speaking, the first case was my favourite of them all.

I have 3:1. How much of what happened was actually Jo Kyung Ho's plan? Coz as far as I see it, all of it, even…
at the same time, maybe that's the charm of the show. It leads to people chatting about the plot, sharing their views and theories, and that's usually one of the best parts of watching dramas - discussing them with others :)

Exactly how I'm thinking! Teens got bigger part in story than they should've had and also I think Cho Jung Hyun…
I agree on the group of teen friends in "present" time. They did have too much screen time taking into consideration how little they truly contributed to the progress of the plot or development of any of the characters.

Killers always have a reason to kill people, they are just bullshit reasons for normal people.

As a child he might have killed anyone who worked in that place just under the "they must have known hence they are guilty", when they might have not knows. That's why I say we cannot be sure they were involved in the abuse, he might have just assume they are guilty just for the fact they were in any way associated with the place. But by that logic, he should not be angry about the death and torture of said dad, since he also worked in that place, same his adoptive mother, so they also ignored the abuse, hence were guilty of it.

It all can be explained with theories that would fit the story, the point is, they did not explain it 🤣

His action led to a lot of people dying who had NOTHING to do with anything, like the high school girl from the beginning, who was not even born when the abuse in the foundation happened. That's my problem - he does not even target people involved, he just went after anyone - innocent or not.

"Honestly, they should have shown if the other people who tortured his father were killed by him or not" < that's exactly it. I feel like viewers have to fill a lot of plot points themselves, based on what for them makes sense, and not based on what actually was shown. To some extend it makes the viewing more interesting, coz you need to use your brain to figure things out, but I feel like they left too many things unanswered by the end.

Well, we don't know who exactly abused him. His adoptive father also worked in that center, hence he was part of the problem, yet he did not see him as villain. That's the whole point, they did not show that, it's your theory based on speculation, same as me calling him "evil". Since we cannot know if the people he killed in the pool took active part in the abuse.

His motives are not clear. If he wanted to punish people who killed his father be would go after police and prosecution. If he wanted to kill people who took part in the abuse, he would have no idea to specifically target the rookie detective that was on the case of siad abuse. But he went after the whole city, with many people who had nothing to do with the abuse in the first place and who could never know what truly was happening in the center.

Okay, so she had to die before the attack since she was named as one of the victims of it. It's not like the bodies were not recovered from the station, so JH had to move her body there. Wish it was something they shown, rather than something we had to "add" ourselves for the timeline to make sense.

But JH already killed the people in the pool BEFORE his adoptive father was killed with torture, which clearly leads me to believe he was already on the "I want revenge" path. It's not the death of the adoptive father that turned him "evil". The torture happened in 85, terror attack in 87 so he was already grown up, but he himself said he started to have "powers" as a kid while being abused, and we saw the pool incident when he was a kid too. That's why it's all messy and I am not sure what exactly was his motive and the moment that made him do what he did. Especially since he did not target police or prosecution (aka people who were involved with it), but rather normal people from the town.

It's answering everything without us realising it, if theres a question of this show. Pls reply maybe i can help…
I have 3:

1. How much of what happened was actually Jo Kyung Ho's plan? Coz as far as I see it, all of it, even his own death, but they do leave it rather vague.

2. What is the story of Kyung Ho and Jung Hyun's dad? Their real father was the dude that Kyung Ho met in the last episodes, he was abusive dick and sold them to orphanage/foundation right? KH was already f-d up there, hypnotise the staff to kill themselves in the pool. There was abuse going on in the foundation. Him and JH were adopted by the now "mom" and her husband, who also worked in that foundation. The whole abuse shit was covered up. The police tried to find out the truth so they tortured to death the adoptive father? But why they are acting as if detective being part of the adoptive father death was the beginning of it all, when it was not, since the kid was messed up before that and had the "magic hypnosis" going on? Am I missing something?

3. So like the whole story of the detective's wife is confusing 🤣 She left the detective twice? Once when she pretended to lose the child, she left to Japan with psycho dude. And then she came back? She was killed by In Gwan, but the detective thought she was killed in the terror attack, So what exactly is the timeline of her death? Knew and was close to KH coz of the foundation. Knew he planned to kill everyone involved with it, pretended to lose the child and left to Japan with KH, came back to the detective. Left the detective again, met with dad to blackmail him into admitting his wrongdoings, he killed her, right after that the terror attack happened? Was her body moved to the station by KH? Why did the detective think she died there?

Beautifully written with compelling questions raised, I couldn't agree more with your evaluation of Hometown.…
Well, I rather them not tell me exactly "how" than them try to tell me it was all his brilliant might and hypnosis skills 🤣
Might be why I am not as annoyed with lack of explanation. Will take this over a bad explanation.

May i ask you something? Is tthis drama completed in season 1 or i will have to wait for season 2? Thank you
As far as I know it will have 2nd season, since they already are working on the script, BUT it can be viewed as stand one. I myself am not planning to watch season 2.

Watching Hometown is like walking in a fog < this. But also with the ending, it's like walking around the town in fog trying to map it out, but at the end walking out of town not truly knowing how the town looks like.

"psychologically disturbing aura" is a perfect way to describe the show.

I think we all wished for a supernatural presence in the show. Trying to explain it all with just "hypnosis" would be rather ridiculous take. They were extremely vague about the source of his "skills" still the very last scene, and I wish they would just drop the confirmation about the origin of it all.

Can i ask if you ever read all mame novel? I think you are not, cause so many mame novel dont have rape concept…
That was mistake on me with not being clear enough, should have written all adapted novels, and sexual assault, not rape. Will correct that in the review after I get back from work today.
