Limitations can be used as explanation, not excuse tho. It's still rather mediocre drama. They decided to produce it with said limitations, they accepted it will have major flaws.

Now... give me the drama that set up everything for episode 11 and 12 to happen, coz it ain't this one 🤣
Also, give me Jester's full story as a revenge drama coz damn 🔥
Also, give me Lee Chae Min as an actual tyrant, coz bloody fits him 🔥

not enough angst. < I think it had enough angst, it was just poorly delivered that's why it feels like it was not enough 🤣
but some of the heavier emotions didn't quite land. < twins yet again 🔥 I liked him with more simple moments, but when he had to actually act some serious shit... well.

With all the "stay away from people at least 2m to avoid scandals" I'd say most idols crave a lot of skinship 🤣

The difference is - he was literally a child and had no idea what was going on. No he just wants to live a quiet life and he is even fine with earning bare minimum to survive. He is not on a high horse, he is on the bottom.

The one on a high horse is FL because she has no idea how realliufe works. She thinks selling things to noble ladies prepared her for it, but it did not. Just the fact she thought the workers can live a good life if they work hard was laughable when we saw them try to work and then not get paid for two days, which means 2 days with no food. And she is not a child for me to excuse that behavior. Blame on the dad tho. He obviously fucked ip raising his kids, coz the son is just as delusional and useless ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And yeah, someone is going to die for sure 🥲

Episode 2

Damn FL is annoying... I really need the reality to hit her in the face HARD 🙂
There are a lot of things that are said to her that seem like a hint of what's to come. From her experiencing not being able to eat for days, to bandits saying not to expect their help when something happens... I think she will soon have to learn the hard way how you need to bend your morals and ideas to survive.

Episode two also gives us some hints about Si Yul and his past, but it's just hints. Obviously amazing fighter. His past seems complicated and I'm all for slowly discovering it as the drama progresses.

And we finally meet Jung Cheon. First of all, I FUCKING DID NOT RECOGNIZE PARK SEO HAM AT ALL 🤣 I can still see him in that full red outfit with that cheeky smirk. This new persona is soooooooooooooo different 🙂

no real ass whooping happened yet, but it does feel like they are leading into that direction 🤣

Okay episode 1 gives me "it's gonna be painful" vibes 🤡

first thoughts on the characters:

🔥 Jang Si Yul MY MAN WHO ARE YOU? I am so curious about his background. He obviously knows how to fight and was trained, he seems to be educated or at least highly intelligent and observant. He does have his pride and it seems like he might have been of higher social status, but he is also smart enough not to show it too much and knows when to lay low. But my dude has his limits and I cannot wait for him to beat some bitches up.

😅 For now I am not sure how I feel about Choi Eun. I think girl gonna get slapped in the face with reality REAL bad soon. She wants to be merchant, but she has NO idea what it truly means and with whom she will have to deal. She thinks it's all about being able to sell, but from what it seems, it's more about knowing how to survive and so far I don't think she has that great skill in that 🤡

👿 All the bad bitches... It's obviously basically a pyramid scheme 🙂 We keep seeing ever knew bad boss being controlled and fucked over by someone higher. And then there is that man whose face we did not see - aka THE top of the pyramid. I'm not sure how I feel about it, because so far we were introduced to like 10+ bad guys, and 1 and half good (ML is one and female lead is half, since we did not see that much of her). I'm scared they won't balance it well.

For the set up - fucking grimm. But also, DAMN it has good makeup! Working class actually looks like they are fucking working class. It reminded me of how amazed I was with My Dearest when all the ladies actually looked liked they went through some shit when the war happened.

Overall, really good start. Going into episode 2 right away 🔥

The cancer was such a bullshit. They tried to make us feel bad for her, but I just felt like karma fucking hit her.

Thank god the bro exists and has scenes with her. After episode 3 I thought I will struggle with watching since I ship her with JP, but now I feel like I might be able to jump the ships 🤣

yeah pretty sure the end game is JP and YR. JH will either end up alone or with YR's brother. If I had to guess. Even though I ship her with JP a lot, you can just sense this is not where the drama will end 😅

Okay guys... We all know if anyone will end up with anyone, it's gonna be Yeong Rye and Jae Pil 🙂 That's how kdramas roll.

I do ship him with Jong Hui and I'd love the mutual healing filled with angst storyline they could deliver, but it's not gonna happen as the end game. Even if they will be dating at some point, she is not the end game.

I see a possibility of Jong Hui ending up with Yeong Rye's brother tho. It would be on brand with their connection and them literally becoming family if she marries into hers.

Funny enough, I also stop Yeong Rye with Jeong Hyeon, but since he literally been moved to cameo role from supporting one, I guess he will be gone from the show now 🤡 But I'd like the "friends to lovers" type of a deal, can he just stop calling her "ugly" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 dude you are not 10 years old.

Highlight of episode 4 for me: Jong Hui and Jae Pil conversation about "feeling fine". The way he was trying to hide how much he is actually suffering, how he got used to the abuse, how it does not affect him anymore - hits close to home, and is so real. And the way she told him to show when he is in pain, otherwise he will just break down at some point completely... even though this is exactly what she is doing, hiding her pain and now talking to anyone about it. Not opening up at all, even to Yeong Rye.

Cannot wait for next week episode. The shit gonna go down!

the random moments of the man trying to find her i cannot tell you, coz they were short moments I'd have to rewatch the show myself. But the beating up was during the boxing match in episode 3 around 45th minute

we know there is a man after her (showed a few times already), we don't know who he is. We also had a flashbacks of him beating her up badly, by what she said to ML, we can assume she barely survived that and that's why she run away (flashback in episode 3).

Right now she wants adventure < this is literally not true 🤣 She is literally acting as if nothing bothers her, because she is on a run, closed to other people and not willing to show her scars. That's why every time Yeong Rye asks personal questions, she dodges and changes the subject. I'd assume the man is chasing her not even because she run away, but because she took the money they had, the same money she gave to Yeong Rye to help her mother. She is obviously a character that was wearing a mask of confidence, when in fact she is in constant state on anxiety because she never knows when she will have to run again. I mean they were pretty clear about it in the first 3 episodes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

she wants to be an actress and glitz and glamour < I am not sure she actually wants to be an actress. I feel like she just wants to run away from her situation and life, and taking different roles and living different lives is a great escape. So will she still want to be actress when her life is more calm, when she is not on the run, and when she can stop pretending and is healed from her traumas? That's the question.
