Technically yes. Practically writer and director obviously failed to show that. I understand that's what the show was supposed to be about. But with how many people take sides (clearly not a minority of viewers) that's a failure of delivery from the production.

This is one of the issues of the show - the skip all the important things they don't know how to explain or present. Be it how and why she won... or how and why Jae Pil fell for her 🤣

If a drama about female friendship leads so many people to fight who is worse and who is not a real friend, and not being happy how amazing both female leads are and being happy to see them on screen together - the writer failed. Failed so hard with their writing it's actually embarrassing.

OR the whole marketing and how it's initially presented was a lie.

On or the other. Both suck 🤣

It's less about YR as a character, and more about how writing wise it puts JH in even worse situation. It's about how the writer keeps creating scenarios that make YR look good, while punching JH down - be it making her life worse, or making her look worse for the viewers. The way this drama is written make it look like the writer truly disliked JH, and it is frustrating to watch.

either this, or JH will literally die protecting YR, anyway, I feel like the writer will just fuck over JH one way or another 🥲

As entertaining as this drama might be, it hit me so hard after checking the comment section:
this show is in fact entertaining failure.

The drama that initially presents itself as a story of female friendship, that's how it sets up the plot, that's who they introduce as main characters, that's how the synopsis is written...

and yet the way they went about it and told the story got people hating either YR or JH and fighting who is more of a "bitch" and worse. There is no real message, there is no clear vision. There are just things happening and a lot of frustration.

I honestly love their chaotic energy 🤣

Here's the thing, THIS IS THE MOST CLICHE OF ALL THE CLICHE DRAMAS FROM PAST FEW YEARS and I am eating it all up. Like they literally even delivered the mandatory Korean rom-com murder to the plot 🤣 And the wide eye kiss.

I'm honestly having so much fun watching. I do believe it's the Jung So Min's charm. She can win me over in any drama and any role.

And honestly.. the wedding picture scene? Kim U Ju needs to calm the fuck down coz I'm falling in love and getting butterflies from just watching him. UNZIPPING THE DRESS? That waist grab and pulling her closer? SIR? SIR, WHAT THE FUCK? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thankfully, the final two episodes did have an interesting narrative - but I hated them. Majorly because none of those plotlines had a valid setup. < I find this so fucking funny, coz I dropped the show after episode 4 since we were like half way through the drama but it was still by all means a character set up episode. You cannot have half of the show be the set up alone 🤣 So the fact you say all that set up was still useless for the finale plotlines is just 🤡

They went with the WORST way to tell their love story. Literally ALL the important moments between them that apparently made him fall for her happened during the 7 years time period that we did not witness. It's hard to fell anything about this couple when they literally did not see their journey 🤡

yeah even after just seeing ep 9, (now also 10) I kind of her a feeling JH will get killed. Which sucks. She was abused her whole life and never was happy for a long period of the time just to get killed by the end 🥲

Few thoughts.
First of all, I just love how people were arguing with me after the time jump that we don't know what will happen and how they will show when and how he fell in love with YR. And when I said they will most likely just show a shirt compilation of their scenes during the 7 years and that's trash and NOT enough to sell romance, people were dissing me saying it will probably not happen like that. WELL IT DID HAPPEN EXACTLY LIKE THAT 🤡 At least I was mentally ready for the disappointment. Dude kept talking how he found strength in her and kept leaning on her during the bad times AND WE WITNESSED NONE OF IT AND OMG THIS IS SUCH A BAD STORYTELLING FOR A ROMANCE 🤣🤣🤣🤣

For the Miss Korea thing. Honestly... Kim Da Mi is beautiful, it makes no sense for Ko Yeong Rye to win, so I hope they won't go that way. Literally if you even randomly check the pictures of past Miss Korea contestants and winners, they all fit the most conventional beauty standards and have this more mature vibe about them. This is such a minor thing, but it will bother me a lot of they make her win 🤡

I also feel like the show turns into emotional trauma porn on JH's side of the story. While YH gets wins left and right, JH just keeps being punch by life and does not catch a break. I kind of wish she did not save YR in the past... how different her life would be now. It's kind of ridiculous how unbalanced the writing is right now. First half was about the friends who were supporting each other through their struggles. Second half is YR winning in life, and even her fails turn into wins, while JH is stuck in a circle of abuse with no one truly on her side, since she was separated from her support system after saving YR...

they should have leaned into a slice of life genre more and just show us all of them chill 🤣🤣

suuuureeee. but we know his mother will reincarnate, they said she needs to leave this world to be able to reincarnate which means she will at some point... so again, why does it end on Khem except for "coz he is the male lead and it's a story about him". I hope they will explain it by the end. If not, I think I rather they not explain the curse at all (the monologue about the curse they showed), because no explanation is better than poor/incompleted one 😅

The way the drama got more and more bland as the plot progressed is kind of amazing 🤣

Yeah reborn in the same bloodline. < I mean nice theory, this is not how the curse is explained in the show...

And as you said - there are cousins etc. So why would the curse end on Khem now? Does he really have NO literally none family whatsoever to carry the curse anymore?

They watched 9 fill episodes and for episode 10 fast-forward so they watched the episode in 20 minutes. Do as you preach and how about rereading the comments that person was writing before you talk shit 😂

Oh I vibe with the novel explanation. I overall think double punishment and that's it makes sense if it was a thing here - once when you reincarnate as a woman and once as a man. So you experience both loss of the loved one and the unjust death - exactly what she and her child had to face.

NO, if u want the right to criticize a series, WATCH THE WHOLE FUCKING SERIES. < I guess comment sections should be closed and opened only after the show finishes airing and only for people who mark the show as completed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If one cannot criticize unless they saw whole, one cannot prise unless they saw whole too. Both criticism and praise are opinions and if you claim you cannot form opinions before you watch the whole drama, it should apply for everyone, not just people who criticize it.
