I actually enjoyed the show a lot and the plot was for sure fun and entertaining. I still believe
Kim Yoo Jung was slightly miscast since she is and looks younger than the rest of the cast. Every time one of the guys called her noona I cringed badly lol

But the chemistry between the leads was reaaallyyy good :)

Sorry if I sound like a stalker but did you lower the addicted heroin review after reading mine? Lmaoooo
yes hahaha I mean it was on 6.5 (not really high in my standards) but it;s above average, and since it has so many problematic tropes I thought I should go lower hahaha

Review TharnType
the "when Tharn fell in love" was something I was questioning myself.
I guess they were friends before Type found out Tharn is gay, but why they did not show it? It was like 2 minutes flashbacks and that's it. Which means we were never shown when and how Tharn fell for Type and that's why it was hard for me to grasp and understand his character.

Review The Untamed
Honestly, bad CGI made this show even better for me. It was so emotionally heavy, the bad cgi , bad practical effects and bad acting in some scene were like a small breaks from all the angst and frustration, when I could just laugh and relax a bit. Coz the show is just so intense.

Lan Zhan is my man. Dam i LOOOVE his character so much. Both him and Wuxian are outstandingly written.

The teasser is obviously for comedic relief and to showcase average Moon Ga Young, and excuse me with your average…
looks are also important part of the roles they are playing lol It's not like looks should be totally ignored. Comparing: My ID Is Gangnam Beauty did AMAZING job with casting since the cast not only was talented in acting, but also visually fitted the roles they are playing. Mi Rae was suppose to be beautiful but looking older/more mature. Soo Ah was suppose to have this innocent angelic face, and we got it.

Moon Ga Young fits the role coz of her acting talent, but does not because of her beautiful face that the make up artists failed to make look more average. I have no idea what's so hard to understand here.

The teasser is obviously for comedic relief and to showcase average Moon Ga Young, and excuse me with your average…
it;s not about how good at acting she is and I have no idea how many times I haver to say that. It's like if we had a story about a guy that is 165cm and has a dream about being basketball player and it was about his struggle to fight for his dream, but then they cast an actor who is 195cm to play the role. It would kill the message. Same with casting such a beautiful actress for a role of an average looking girl how was discriminated because she was not pretty enough.

Joo Gyung is an average looking girl without make up.
Moon Ga Young is a pretty girl even with a make up that is suppose to make her look ugly.

I have no problem with Moon Ga Young as an actress. It's not an attack on her and her acting skills. It's me complaining about the casting standards. I have a problem with how industry works, that even the roles that are written for average looking actresses are given to the beautiful ones.

I see your response to my comment and I see where you are coming from, but honestly this is a 15 second teaser,…
Well... but the teaser shows how they going to present the character. And she looks pretty. So it's not a story about average girl who has complexes and is being treated badly or indifferent coz of her looks. It's a story of a beautiful girl who has complexes now. Unless they will truly try to make us believe she is seen as average, which is laughable.

This show was a perfect opportunity to finally break to beauty standards a bit and show that average girls and be the leads of the romance and story too. And they wasted it by casting someone who fits the beautify standards perfectly.

Also, it's not only your comment :) Many people share your views and talked about it on other websites.

How I see this casting? Slap in the face to all average looking actresses. It's like telling them: stay in line in your supportive friend comedic relief characters, you ain't getting that main role. Even tho the show IS suppose to be an average looking girl. It's not true Joo Gyung is seen as this make up beauty for most of the screen time (unless they change the webtoon). A LOT of her interactions with ML are when she is not dolled up.

Saying it would be hard to make an average looking girl a pretty girl with make up is also not true. People are using make up to hide their burned scars and deformations... and you want to tell me they cannot make an average looking girl look beautiful? The production crew probably thought it will be easier to make a beautiful actress look average, and guess what: they failed. Putting blush on her forehead and cheeks and glasses on is such a cheap way, it looks like a parody.

Is the webtoon about your internal insecurities? yes. But it also is a commentary about how society is focused on a beauty standards. Joo Gyung was bullied in school, and with how the webtoon present it, it was because she was average looking, did not stand out and did not fit the "cool kids" circle. She stands out compare to her family, because they are all beautiful and she is not. So she did not feel like she fits in. It's not only about how she sees herself, but also how badly people treated her when she was herself and not all dolled up.

It's basically as laughable as when Love with Flaws tried to force viewer to believe Oh Yeon Seo was ugly compared to her handsome brothers and how ridiculous it would be for someone as handsome as Ahn Jae Hyun to date her lol It just shows how toxic the beauty standards are. When they only cast stunning actresses as the average looking characters.

Most reviews with low scores are from people who compared the show to a 10-episode bldrama with 40 minutes each.…
No, it is a badly written web drama. That's the fact. The characters were badly written, the introduction of the debt storyline was useless and pointless and took away from the presentation of the relationship, they did not have enough time for any storyline at the end.
There are many mini series that are good. Hell, I watched 7 minutes on movie and it had better written and more coherent story and characters than this.
I named all the problems I had, and most of them were not the result of this being short, but this being poorly written.

I guess after reading some comments below, it should not an issue to demand more low angle shots of actresses' legs almost showing the underwear and SLOW MO long shots of cleavage from a high angle in all dramas, without any reason plot wise. Or like a shower scenes from actresses with long shots of their legs and stomach, ending barely before showing the private parts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I mean, it was cute. I don't even mind the high reviews (hell, I have why r u 9.5, and it was far more of a mess lol) but i would appreciate if people actually name the obvious flaws in it so when someone reads the review and decides to watch, they will know what they are getting into.
