yeah but the messed up parts in writing were not the BL parts, when you can excuse them by lack of experience etc. the romance between the guys and their cute scenes were the least badly written for me.

I mean... it was writing mess. the whole debt plot was so out of nowhere and not well incorporated in the story, when Sang Ha was being slapped across the face by the bad guy, I could not stop laughing it was so ridiculous. And the punch at the end was out of Jin Won's character. + everyone was painfully dumb...

All of that is true. I have no problem with male characters being shirtless in some scenes, I have problems with how the scenes are shot. When the scene focuses for 80% on the abs in slow mo, and not the actors face. When there is a crying scene in a shower, I want to see the damn tears and angst on the face, not him flexing the muscles.

And as you said, showing muscles on the screen for the role is one thing, but expecting the actors to have muscles is show them off became so "normal" they are asked to show them in the most random situations, sometimes even leading to MC and other guests touching them. How is that okay? How is that harmless?

People complain like crazy if the drama is shot from lower angle to show off more of an actress legs, but ain't no problem with male character stripping. That's what I call double standard.

I mean... I don't even mind not getting an ending IF the whole show is amazing, but here the show was meh, and the ending was non existing hahaha

wow, was expecting more tea BUT maybe being more tame and objective is better. It can actually save some people from watching.
Changsu was plain boring for me. The fact I had to read the story in stead of watching it annoyed me. I am still amazed you have finished it :)

Obviously author did not aim for not a straight charactet with the censorship happening. But just because author did not plan it, does not mean the end result is not what it is. No matter how you look at it, his character is not straight.
Being straight myself, there is no way i would fall for someone who presents as a girl. If he was straight, he would not fell for her when he thought she was a boy with the way she was presenting herself.

He did not fall for anyone else coz he still liked her, even tho he thought she is a guy. Hence he is either bi or pansexual.

She is a girl from birth. She was just a tomboy and had the same haircut as her male best friend.
The point is, he fell for her when he was sure she was a guy. Hence he ain't straight.

So yeah, he is not straight and I have no idea how this drama passed the censorship but I am totally thankful. I'm enjoying it a lot.

While with Win I kind of agree since BL was his first role so it would make sense for him to go for another one now, but Bright was not BL actor to begin with. I was more surprised with him taking BL role, than now going back to straight one...

actually... it does not really make sense for them to be identical if they are mother and daughter if we talk about genetics. It makes much more sense for Tae Yi to actually be his mother, who gets involved with Alice and travels to the future to work with them (or something along the lines) or just be Tae Yi but from parallel universe no connected to them at all (as they explained).

While Why R U had a valid reason for the changes, 2gether was simply lying to fans. As I said, IF they didn't CLAIM there will be hot kissing scenes and bedroom scenes, fans would have no right to complain, but they DID say there will be.

Let's even say just some young girls want to see some hot boys kissing, there is nothing wrong with that, provided it does not hurt anyone. IF 2gether was not that type of a show and production team was clear about that instead of saying there will be "hot scenes", these girls would not watch it, and there would be no complaining. If you attract viewers by lying to them, you have no right to be angry coz they are complaining.

And no, I should not be grateful for anything especially since the things people complain about here have NOTHING to do with Miss Rona happening globally. Why does entertainment industry get pass, when other industries don't? No one would say "you should be grateful you even got any food" if they get some bad food in a restaurant. Your argument would have ANY ground if the problems with Long Khong I spoke about were caused by Rona, but they were not. |

I have no idea how to explain it better to you. It reminds me of 2gether and Why R U backlash. With 2gether people were annoyed, because in the behind the scenes they were talking about filming "bedroom scenes" and "kissing scenes" etc. when in the end viewers got hi5. Viewers had the right to be angry.
With Why R U there were suppose to be 2 main couples, but at the end, there was one. People who started the show for Tommy and Jimmy had the right to be annoyed. Here, they promoted the show with BL couple, so people who started the show for Prem and Boun have the right to be annoyed they didn't get it. Rather than saying: oh that's how the industry works so we should just accept it and never have ANY expectations for the shows after watching the promotional content, we SHOULD complain and criticize how some trailers and promos are misleading. This "it is how it is" attitude from viewers is not good for the industry overall. Why should the companies produce good content and be truthful with the promotion, if no one even complains in the first place?

I know they film the trailers first, but at times they try to at least semi-replicate scenes. This happens with Why R U. the scenes used in trailer were not exactly the same, but at least elements were kept in the show. And as I said, it's not only about the trailer, but how they promoted the couple on twitter, to nowt really have them that much in the show later.
Also, just because they filmed the trailers before the show itself, does not mean this technique cannot be criticized. They knew Prem and Boum were extremely popular BL couple after UWMA and they used that knowledge to promote the show and get more viewers to watch the show. I agree that expecting this show to be full BL would be ridiculous since the main character was Praewa and everyone knew that BUT expecting to see a bit more than was given from Prem and Boum is not jumping to conclusion with the way the content and trailers were shown before the show aired.
