It's true that Pete was way too possessive and because of that it was hard for him to accept how much Kao was struggling and how hard it was for him to just come out and be true to himself when he was not sure how much of an effect it will have on his life and his family.
I like how they addressed the issue of coming out to your friends and family and how hard it is if you are not sure they will accept you. Also when Mork said to Rain that it should be his decision to tell or not tell and it should not be taken away from him. It was just one line and not the focus of the scene but I found it very true and important.
This drama was not just showing things "from the viewpoint of old people", the whole idea of it is that it showed many different perspective of many different generations. But then you could not possibly know that since you dropped it after 3rd episode.
