Review TharnType
Thank you for this detailed rant! I agree with you wholeheartedly!Like you mentioned some people might say that…
Truth to be told, I quite enjoyed the 2nd part of the drama myself, but with how poorly the important parts were written I could not force myself to give it a higher rating. It the serious topic were never introduced in the 1st place and they would pick less traumatic reasons for Type's homophobia and their initial disagreement, I might like it. But since the autor decided to use mental health issues in such a disrespectful way... I was hard to me to focus on the fun, cute and nice parts.

Is there BL?
depends on what you understand by BL. There are openly gay characters that will probably end up together at some point. But I don't think every gay love story is bl.

On Psychopath Diary Jan 1, 2020
I just want to say to the people who wanted Dong Sik to turn into a true psychopath: it would be impossible with how the presented his injury in episode 1 (or 2, I don't remember). You don't just turn psychopath after you hit your head. I think the whole point of this drama is the existential crisis Dong Sik has coz he thinks he is a psychopath (up to some point) when nothing about him fits being psychopath.

The Beauty Inside, Goddess of Fire Are two that come to my mind. I am not the biggest fan of her myself so I have not seen many dramas with her tbh. That said, I just think she is doing really good job with the role she was given in Black Dog.

this drama is overrated really ...
It had extremely good beginning, but now it's just flat. I feel like the hype comes from that good start. It had great potential and good cast but they went too strong with comedy and Dong Sik and his interactions with the coworkers.

I don't get what you mean? I agree with how she acts externally, I just don't agree with your explanation on why she acts the way she does. You put it into "her trying to look pretty", I put it into her being insecure and not sure about her position and if she should or should not act on her believes.

I wish there are more scenes of Ha Neul Saemm with her students/class. Isn't that what she was curious about,…
I would love that, but it would make the drama into something else. I think the politics of it are really important. She wanted to learn how it is to be a real teacher and what you are saying is exactly what she expected: her talking to students, teaching them and all the "fun". And now her hopes are clashing with the reality, when the teachers spend most of their time not in the classroom with students, but outside of it, dealing with the system and other teachers. I feel like this is kind of the point of this drama. That being a teacher is not just teaching students.

Any romance?
If there will be any, I'd say maybe Go Ha Neul and Do Yeon Woo. It's really slightly hinted and like really slightly. The fact he is concern about her because she is all "I will change the system" but she might be criticized at the end. But I highly doubt it will be anything more than a hint every few episodes. I don't think they have time to dive into romance with the plot like that.

That's the thing I usually don't like about drama actresses: they try too hard to look good and it's boring since…
The hair thing has nothing to do with looking good, it's a coping mechanism when you are nervous or unsure. Things are not always what you like and claim them to be. I actually like her character a lot. You can be smart and want the best for you students and still unsure about how to approach the topic. I don't see how her acting nice and cute around people she is comfortable around takes away from her character. Not everyone has to fit into those stereotypical boxed: someone smart has to be always well spoken, distant and strong willed, and someone acting cute must be shallow. And it's perfectly realistic how at times she is smart and at time she is clueless coz we are all like that. No one knows everything. The important part is, the moment she gains enough information she is ready to dive deep and learn what she has to, to understand the situation.

Thanks for the review. Very well written. :)
Don't know how well written it is since I don't really touch on acting nor production quality, but I guess I just liked the message the drama sends :)

yes to all that hahaha I like how they addressed the issue of coming out to your friends and family and how hard…
Yeah I was not crazy about Mork and Sun, I just really liked that one line.
It's true that Pete was way too possessive and because of that it was hard for him to accept how much Kao was struggling and how hard it was for him to just come out and be true to himself when he was not sure how much of an effect it will have on his life and his family.

yes to all that hahaha
I like how they addressed the issue of coming out to your friends and family and how hard it is if you are not sure they will accept you. Also when Mork said to Rain that it should be his decision to tell or not tell and it should not be taken away from him. It was just one line and not the focus of the scene but I found it very true and important.

Review SKY Castle
I'm kind of curious what would you except the drama to do, other than just tell the story and point out the faults of the society?
This drama was not just showing things "from the viewpoint of old people", the whole idea of it is that it showed many different perspective of many different generations. But then you could not possibly know that since you dropped it after 3rd episode.

sameI watched it because @UglyDuckling mentioned it in her article about method acting where she explained that…
I started watching it coz I thought it is gay movie and I was in the mood for some representation. I knew close to nothing about it. But when I finished it I knew most people who think it's a gay movie are wrong and it;s quite eerie movie.

I agree with all of them! Shin Hye Sun is such a talented actress. Never heard anyone say she is not and it says a lot.

Seo Ha Joon was the best role Ji Soo had so far. The depth of his character, the layers and raw emotions he had to show made it perfectly clear that he is awesome actor.
